RUDE RUDE RUDE! Yesterday my family went to Salem with our friend and her 5 year old. Salem has not been updated since the 1600s and is all cobble stone and many store fronts have stairs and no handicap accessibility. My husband wanted to go into a store that had steps so I went next door to Addicted Fashions because I could get the double carriage in there. We wondered around for a few minutes before someone even acknowledged we entered the store. My friend and I were talking quietly at one of the displays showing her daughter the hats when who I think was the owner yelled from across the small store. "Are you just waiting out the rain or something?" I polity said. "No, my husband is just next door and we couldnt get the carriage in there so we were just looking around until he was finished." She then told us we could not be in her store because we were not buying anything and came over to push my carriage out of the store. My friend pointed out that people were smoking outside an we would leave when the smokers walked away. Her daughter and her have severe asthma but the woman was not having us. I took a jab saying that she is pushing two infants out in the cold with smokers and she was extremely unprofessional. But she continued to push us out on the street. I am just completely appalled that in this economy that someone has the audacity to push customers out of her store. You would think she would want the impulse sale so she could create new customers. She was rude and ignorant and we should never have been treated that way!

I visited this new store on my recent visit home. Its so cool. Its like this trendy womens boutique somewhere in SoHo NYC, but its here, in Swampscott. It is so refreshing to have this contemporary feel in my own town besides pizza shops and hair salons. It has winter clothes and great dresses, and the prices are awesome... below $100!!!
