I dont know where these nasty reviewers are from but maybe its the land of impatience and self-importance. If you dont like the selection offered, move on to another store. No need to be so critical. Its pretty apparent what brands are carried by checking the website first. I have always received fair and first rate treatment at the shop; you come in with an attitude and about 99% of the time, that is what life will give you back. Is it a huge chain-type bike shop, no. But thats what I like about it. You dont get an upsell for a million other things in addition to what you were looking for or (what I hate the most) the snotty superior attitude if you dont have $5,000 to spend on a bike. Im really happy with all my purchases from NSC and appreciate the honest responses to my questions. Updated 3/28/2013: This review is being posted after purchasing a new bike at North Shore. First rate treatment, part 2. :-) They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable -- both Mark and Wes clearly have a detailed and extensive knowledge of what they sell and the products available not only in their store but out in the general marketplace. Mark spent an incredible amount of time making sure the bike fit me perfectly and after taking it for a long ride the next day, I can honestly say that it was one of the most comfortable rides Ive had in a long time. I also ran into some folks at my complex that swear by North Shore Cycle and have gone to Mark for years. If you want to be treated like you matter and not just your money matters, then go to North Shore. If you want to be treated like your money is what matters and you come second, then go to one of the big chains. When its busy season, you have to understand that service is going to be slower, it will take longer to get things to you and you just need to have a little patience. Youre not the only person in the world who rides and needs service despite what you think. I have had to wait there in the past but when its June and everybody either wants to buy a bike or needs some maintenance, it can get backed up. Either take a drink from the patience cup or go somewhere else. In my mind, you cant go wrong by going to NSC for what you need. Ive always been happy with the service and my purchases. Good luck and good riding!

I would like to take a moment to share one of the many reasons why Id never go to another Bike Shop. About 3 weeks ago..... I was running a little late to pick up a bicycle that I was interested in purchasing. I called the the Store and Mark (the owner) picked up. I explained my situation and why I was running late. Mark kindly waited an additional 15 minutes (after closing time) for me to arrive. I finally got to the shop, thanked Mark for waiting and Wes for Preparing the bicycle for a Test ride. About 30 minutes later, I decided to make the purchase. Wes then double-checked the bike to make sure the derailleurs, brakes & shifters were working properly. Wes also installed my water bottle cage & pedals. I was then fitted for my road bike. A good fitting takes time and patience to complete. Mark pulled out his Fitting tools and fine-tuned my position on the bike by strategically centering me on the frame. He adjusted the Handle Bars so that I had slight bend in my elbow (which helps reduce fatigue during long rides). I expressed the fact that my biggest concern was how I can find a way to maximize comfort while Im in a seated position during long rides. Mark then measured the width of my Sit bones, recommended an awesome saddle and some cycling shorts. These recommendations greatly reduced the discomfort I was experiencing in my nether regions. By the time I left the store it was 9 Oclock! Mark & Wes always go above and beyond for their customers. Im saddened by the fact that someone would take the time to write a horrible review about such a great place because I know that You guys are truly one of (if not the) the best local bike shops around. Thank you for your help once again.

I have been a customer of North Shore for quite a number of years. I have purchased all my bikes and my family’s bikes there. When I purchased my first high end mountain bike, Mark lent me his to test ride as that was the model I was looking to purchase. The shop is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help set you up with the right bike and or right part if that is what you are looking for. I have on occasion gone in with odd requests looking for a special part or a special tool, if they had it, I had access to it, if they did not, they told me they could order it or told me where I could find it online. I do not know of too many shops that would be so honest. As a result, I have no need to go anyplace else for my stuff. Mark and staff are very knowledgeable and are always willing to take the time to investigate bikes or parts for you. Customer service is great that sort of consideration and customer service is why there is no need for me to look elsewhere.

Four years ago, I bought my first pair of spin shoes here. Mark, the owner, was patient and explained everything about cycling shoes to help me find a great pair (and he installed the clips) - and, since then, Ive been using them with no complaints. Three years ago, he helped me to alter a bike for a triathlon and ship it to the event location. The bike arrived in Miami in perfect condition, and the alterations made those 40 K bearable. Last week, I went in to replace my spin shoes, and he again gave me individualized attention and expert advice. I love my new pair of Specialized (Spirita Road Womens) shoes, and Im sure Ill be using them for years, too. I will always go out of my way to do all my cycling shopping at North Shore Cycle.

This is the place to go if youre young and stupid or old and stupid. Basically, if youre stupid, go here. Customer service is non existant. Any bike shop that does any kind of brake maintenance or repair should have the part I asked for. Without even checking, the guy said he didnt have any. It wasnt like he was busy or anything. I was the only customer in the shop. I guess he didnt want to service me because I was only in there for a $2 part which I could guarantee they had. Im sure if I were there to buy a bike, theyd service me better. Not that they have many bikes to choose from. Bottom line is... This bike shop is super small, super ghetto, and super suck. Never again will I take my business there!

I had made a previous review of 2 stars after a bad experience with one of the employees there and Im happy to say that I got a phone call from the owner and he who was the gentleman I had spoken with when I brought the bike in was nice and had a great sense of customer service. I dont believe in the phrase "there customer is always right " because some times they are not, however there is a way to talk to people and a tone of voice that if you use it is very likely that you will not have many customer service issues.... But here it is Mark was great. Ill give an update once the bike is done.
