Debbie Ann reviewed Black Pearl Tattoo Studio & Gallery — May 19,2015. I was in the shop about two weeks ago. I came in town from Texas. To put a piece on me to signify a life event that happened in Hyannis. I was told I would get a tattoo artist and received a quote. He was still busy when I returned later and and the tattoo artist wasnt done so I was pushed over to a different tattoo NON ARTIST. He looked at my drawing and said it would cost more then originally quoted. I immediately did not connect with him as he raised the quote and also wasnt getting what I wanted done. I kept trying to feel better about it but I just didnt so I got up and told him I was not comfortable with this and did not want to go on. He then told me that I was to have to pay him anyway because he had it done the stencil and spent the time with me. I just kept feeling uncomfortable with this and did not want to go on. I felt as though the money was the only thing important and not the fact that this would be a lifetime decision for me. I was threatened that if I left the police would be called because I owed them that money. I felt very pushed. As I was in Hyannis for the last night I didnt have a choice because I really wanted this done in that town. I went ahead and did it but this was the worst mistake of my life. Not to mention it ruined a important moment for me as well. I now have to get it fixed. Please think about what youre doing before you let this tattoo place push you into something youre not comfortable with. My gut told me from the very beginning. Inbox me for a pic if interested. Sidenote- the receptionist was great. Too bad shes in a place like that. She as well tried to get this "non artist" to understand how I wanted my tattoo to look. Thank you for trying. Hope your artist is proud.. Im so disappointed like I knew I would be. But I was forced into this or give the money anyway. Hope the $50 kept the company running cuz now I live with this forever. I got my first tattoo there and the staff was really cool. I have anxiety disorder I was wicked nervous about getting my first tattoo. The staff gave me a jolly rancher before to calm my nerves and started to joke with me to make me laugh. The tattoo was almost painless and they really seemed like they knew what they where doing. I went in black pearl tattoo studio today with a design idea for my next tattoo and I was greeted with such a warm welcome that I felt the need to go online and write this review. I would give there customer service a 10/10. They picked up the phone when I called the first time and where more than happy to answer any questions that I had. Some complaints I have read or heard about this place is that they are pricey. I personally find their prices to be fair. Also, you get what you pay for. Also why not pay more for something you will have for the rest of your life and like I said they are not expensive. The work there is excellent and unique. They know exactly what you want and are more than willing to accommodate you in order to give that perfect work of art. If you are a perfectionist like and have a vision of the perfect tattoo then this is the place for you.

I visited Black Pearl when I returned to Cape Cod for my sisters graduation from Barnstable HS. The girl at the counter (I wish I had gotten her name!) was very friendly and made my whole crew (family and friends came along, as it was my first tattoo) feel at home as soon as we walked in. Neff was my artist, and I was wowed by his work hanging on the wall. My piece was somewhat simple: no color or shading, an off-beat bird cage with small lettering beneath. The lettering has a simple beauty that I adore, and he did an EXCELLENT job matching the drawing precisely as it is on paper (a picture from a book)... I felt calm and relaxed, and Neff even commented that I "sit like a stone for a first-timer" which encouraged me to just-keep-sitting lol. Long story short, I had a great experience. My family and friends got to watch through the fish-tank (my graduating sister sat by my side the whole time) and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thanks, Neff, for giving me my first taste at Ink. Ill definitely be back!

Tattoo experience was pretty great! They added onto my tattoo I currently have - I add in little symbols every few months on my arms. Neff did my tattoos, the first one was simple, the second one I gave him time to sketch it out first. Took him a try or two until he came back with this awesome drawing! All my current symbols are simple because theyre so small but Neff made if so I could have something extraordinary with the little space I have left on my arm tattoo. (Its a heart wraped in doilie loops with 2 huge Ms inside and tiny dots all over - it looks pretty sick tbh matches my overall tattoo of stars and dots all up my arm) It took him 30 minutes because the designs werent too huge. the overall tattoos look really good. He did an amazing job! Staff was pretty cool too they offered me pizza in the waiting room haha Very cheap. Nice place. Clean equipment. Cool staff. Clean work & nice lines on my tatts Ill definitely be going back during the summer!

I am so happy to have found black pearl tattoo. The quality of work is amazing. Chris trash is my artist. I can say out of all the tattoos I have, the ones hes done are by far my favorite. He creates clean lines, beautiful shading and has a great eye for color. All the staff here is amazing as well. They are friendly and always greet you with a smile. They strive to make you comfortable and help you by honestly explaining the best options for your tattoo ideas. When I first came in I was looking to get a cover up done. They let me know that it wouldnt be possible with what I have but gave me other ideas to make it better. Other shops Ive gone to just turned me away with no help. I ended coming back again and again because of the standards for quality they uphold. If you want good quailty work, fair prices, and great company this is where you want to be.

I visited Black Pearl Tattoo while on vacation in the area and had a FANTASTIC experience. The tattoo, a portrait of Darth Vader turned out nearly perfect to the picture, to say that it turned out AMAZING would barley describe the attention to detail the artist put into this work of ART. Not only was the tattoo PERFECT but the artist was very attentive to how i was feeling and let me take a break anytime I needed. The rest of the staff made me feel very WELCOME, I usually chew gum to get through tattoos but I forgot to bring some and the owners daughter just happened to have some and let me have the whole pack. What a PROFESSIONAL and FAMILY style atmosphere you will find as well as some of the more INCREDIBLE artists I have met. When I come back to town I will be making this one of my FIRST destinations! A big THANK YOU to Black Pearl Studios!!!!!!
