When it comes to piercings, go somewhere else. Nate only starts out with large hoops ala mid to late 90s even though he claims they are tight to the nose. Turns out the hoops are not used for sanitation reasons as he says, but hoops are cheaper than studs for piercers to buy. I told him prior to my piercing that the hoop had to be tight to my nose for work reasons and though he assured this was the case, it wasnt even close to tight (think Lenny Kravitz). He said I would have to find a tattoo artist willing to change out the jewelry, which was easy to do. He was very lackadaisical and not willing to work with me. I ended up going to Pins and Needles after Just Good Tattoos referred me to see a friendly person who explained everything in detail. If this attitude went down in a larger city like Philadelphia (where I live) they wouldnt last, but unfortunately when you have fewer options in the nice city of Portland, you are in a semi-monopoly situation. Go to Pins and Needles and ask for Dana before walking into this cash only shop.

When it comes to body ink and body piercing, I cannot think of any place I could or even would trust than Hollowed Ground Bodyart Studio. I first started going to Hollowed Ground in 2010. I had my first facial piercings done by Joey Petruk and then I had returned for 2 inspiring ink sessions with Jasin Chapman. I apologize if I misspelled your names. Hollowed Ground has the highest standards both professionally as well as medically/hygienically. Earning several awards over the years, there is no one else I would trust! As an independent singer/songwriter and activist, the ink I received by Jasin at Hollowed Ground has become infamous in circles outside of New England. Though I have yet to return for more work in a long while, Matt always goes out of his way to say hello to me on the street in passing. Everyone at Hollowed Ground is uncommonly kind and respectful. Though piercings are a thing of the past at Hollowed Ground or so I understand, the graphic ink is beyond awe-inspiring.... Sean M. More Band

First of all.. My experience with this shop is obviously going to be different than someone elses, thats the thing about tattoo shops n artists; Youre going to walk into one and and catch a sh***y vibe, and you walk into another and you find yourself at home.. Thats how it went for me when they first opened up, I knew Jason and Paul from Bombshell years ago and was excited for the new spot.. In my opinion this is the ideal place to get ink if youre interested in quality custom work by down to earth people who arent just in the "business" for the money or the trendy "cool points" then this place is calling your name.. Each individual artist has their own strengths and styles, so no matter what you want for a tat, it can be done! As far as body piercing, I dont know too much about the craft, however they ARE professional (despite what nena dingleberrys comment said) and they are all cool and willing to work with anyone who comes in, within means of course.. It is truly Hallowed ground..

Jasin has been working on my arm for several months now and its all coming out great! I feel very comfortable at Hallowed Ground! Great friendly place to be! I drive all the was from Bangor because i think Jasin is the best!.... oh and im 52! Ladies check it out! You wont be sorry!
