A magical wonderland for birds and bird lovers! My boyfriend and I drove 3 hours roundtrip to the Emporium from Boston three different times when we were looking to buy a baby parakeet. We could not have been more pleased with our entire experience. Its unfair to call this place a pet store, as its so much more than that. Birds are also boarded here, training classes are offered, and bird owners come with their pets to socialize. There are relaxed, healthy, happy birds everywhere, out on open stations, sitting on people, interacting with other birds and customers of all sorts. Bird are such intelligent, social creatures and the Emporium really puts their needs first. The babies are all procured from good breeders, hand-fed and handled on a daily basis. This is SO key if youre looking to get a bird. Never have I been around so many calm, friendly, behaved birds and its all because they are extremely used to people. Plus, all the birds came with training already! They know how to step-up, stay put on stations, and sit on shoulders without a problem. Anyone can handle the birds in their awesome lounge, where customers and birds just hang out for as long as they want. When we went the first time, we got to handle all the baby parakeets for HOURS, with the little birds just calmly sitting on our fingers the entire time. No one made us feel rushed or pressured us into buying anything. And speaking of the employees.... Everyone who works here is really fantastic. Most of the employees were young, but rather than ever seeming bored at work, they were constantly interacting with customers, giving advice, playing with birds, and keeping the place clean. Everyone who works there has their own bird too, so they are all very knowledgable and even bring their pets into work to play. Heading up this group of really great people is Janet, the owner. Frankly, if she told me to jump off a cliff because it would be good for my bird, I would do it. This lady KNOWS her stuff and exudes confidence and expertise. While we were there, just looking at the babies, she took us aside into the training room and showed us all about clicker training, using a couple of her own birds as examples. Every trick and behavior we thought might be a distant possibility IF we ended up with an exceptional smart bird, Janet showed us that they were all easily within the realm of basic training. On the day we came to pick our little bird up, she sat down with us and went through his diet (they have specialized warm veggie meals that they send you home with to start out), what to expect the first few weeks, how to handle him, and all these other details. She even fit him into a flight harness, which the internet said would be too small for parakeets, but worked perfectly. Shes amazing! All this attention and care for a small, $35 bird. Of course, we went and bought as much food, toys, etc for the bird as we could...its just one of those places you really want to have your money. Janet also outfitted a special carrier for our bird and set it up with a bunch of free accessories! Its just obvious she wants her birds to be off to a good start when they go to their forever homes. Weve had our bird for a week and though Janet warned us that he might not eat because he could be scared, weve had no such problems. The little guy is super curious and friendly, all our friends can easily hold him, and we take him outside all the time, thanks to the carrier and the harness. If youre ANYWHERE near the Parrot and Bird Emporium (or if youre not), this is where you need to get your bird.

Where do I even start....first off I have to Commend the two owners here because this place is absolutely incredible. All the staff is knowledgeable and kind and caring about the customers and their feathered friends. The cages are always so clean and each and every bird gets individual attention and training and care. This place is highly recommended to go to if you like birds. Its a bird lovers paradise! If you are considering adding a bird to your family the staff will find you a bird to fit your needs and your families needs. They make sure that you go home with a fully weaned bird that is healthy and very loved. You can visit your babies whenever the store is open to bond with them. I really like this concept because it allows for you to understand the bird and their needs. Great great place. They deserve 5 stars!!!

We purchased our feathered family member from The bird and parrot emporium about 4 years ago. We were so happy with him and the support from Janet and Deb (the owners). We now have 2 birds from them. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality, hand fed, socialized bird. Please dont buy a bird that is sitting in a little cage at one of the chain stores. I know of 2 conure/birds that have been in the same store for years. My heart wanted to rescue them at their high price because I felt bad for the birds. The box store would just replace them with other birds to live their lives in a glass type box. Im going to see Janet this week for our birds nails and wings to be trimmed. They do it all. ❤them.

After losing one of my birds, my wife and I were trying to decide where to find a match for our parrot, so we gave the Parrot Emporium a call. They were willing to let us bring our bird by to find a match and after a couple of attempts we finally found the perfect one. We travel very frequently for business so having our birds stay here for a week is awesome! They take really good care of our birds that we love. This place is simply the best!!!

There are other bird specialty shops that will sell you a tame parrot, but this is the only shop that offers support and help with your animal indefinitely. Furthermore, they will even help you with behavior modification in a misbehaving bird that you got somewhere else (for free!). I was really impressed that a bird store wants to help parrots and their people stay together as an ethical imperative, not as an additional source of revenue.

The quality of both location and employee at this place of business is absolutely awesome. It engenders a sense of both resort/spa and hangout spot for yourself and your avian companion. They really care about your birdie here. This is NOT your average pet shop; this is the ONLY place to bring your business for all your bird needs from boarding to training. Will continue to patron and recommend!

My wife and I love this place! All of our birds have come from here. Its clean. Theyre very knowledgeable of all the birds they have. My favorite part is that they have an open room to relax in where all of their birds get to be out in. Ive handled exotic birds that Ive seen in zoos before. If you love birds, be sure to check out this place.
