8 days Pepboys in Dedham had my worktruck to do brakepads after they told me it would take 4 hours.. I went in on Sunday and was told it would be ready towards the end of the day... After a few hours i was told it would not be ready until the next day which was Monday. The next day (Monday) i called and was told it wouldnt be ready until Thursday which was bad news for me as i work in construction and my truck is how i get my tools to work. I was extremely annoyed but i remained patient.. So i called Thursday and was told it was ready and after a $20 uber ride there i had to take another $20 uber ride home right away as my truck was on the lift with the wheels off and nothing else done. Another $20 uber ride up there Friday and it still my truck had not been touched.. Then when i went inside to ask what was going on it turns out the guy hadnt even checked to see if they had the parts for it yet.. So when he discovered he did have the parts he took them and left them by the truck and told me they would prioritize my truck and wrote a note on it stating it had to be done ASAP before he assured me it would be ready for the next day (saturday).. So Saturday i called and was told there were no technicians in that day and so now we are back around to Sunday. A full week on a lift with just tires taken off of it and nothing else and when i asked if it would be ready for Sunday this time the guy just said "i dunno, maybe... 8 Days after i brought my truck in for a "4hr" brakepad job i got it back.. Its smells like something is burning in it, its making a clacking noise from underneath somewhere, they left it outside in a thunderstorm with the window open and after quoting me $138 on the day i brought it in they tried to hand me an invoice for $687 today on top of the small fortune i spent on Uber rides and having to rent a truck to try to get my work done.. I went to Pepboys for convenience because they were open on a Sunday and 6 days later they have my truck sitting up there on a lift, taken apart for nearly a week and they hadnt even checked to see of they have the parts for it... Definetly the worst experience i have ever had as a customer in my entire life.. Beyond a joke.. I have lost days of work and thousands of dollars. I have clients calling me and now im chasing around trying to catch up on work i missed in a week of being screwed around.. Worst part is they are going to hand me a damn bill when or if they ever decide to finish it.. Beyond ridiculousness...

Everything you are about to read is all true. I wish I was making it up. I went to this location to have my tires done. I let them know I would need the car back tonight and if it was not going to be possible to receive my car the same night, they should let me know. I was assured that the tire replacement and the alignment(I was supposed to get a call to let me know if the alignment would be needed or not, and how bad the alignment was.) would all be done and Ill be able to take the car. The service rep took down my name and number since the total time to finish the procedure would be an hour and a half. The rep told me as soon as the job was done, I would get a phone call to come pick up my vehicle. An hour and 25 mins goes by and I call the store to see how far with the vehicle (I was also supposed to get a call to let me know if an alignment would be needed or not - obviously I didnt get this call either). The phone for the location went straight to their answering service since they were beyond their normal hours (Yes yes yes.... I left, but was assured that they always work beyond closing time and this was nothing unusual, and I will get a call as soon as the car was ready for pick-up). When I got there I found my car parked in front of their store, in the fire lane, with 3 of the 4 doors left unlocked. This has shown me NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH PEP BOYS (The one in Dedham at least). Their gross negligence has costed me more than the cost of the tires, but lost time (I had to be in NY tonight and currently will not be going, and I might have just lost some business). I called the customer service line twice to see if the rep or someone could help me reach the manager for this emergency, the rep GARY on the phone let me know they do not have phone numbers for any managers of that location (this should be fixed). I am still trying to figure out if this is a joke...... I will no longer do business here and will also tell others to no longer do business here.

I have never written a on-line review before in my life, but I feel compelled to do so now to warn others. This place has the worst customer service of any organization with which I have interacted, and that includes airlines, cable providers, and insurance companies. I was originally attracted to this place because it is open on Sundays and does synthetic oil changes for a reasonable price. The problems are apparent as soon as you walk in. They use an incredibly cumbersome computer system that causes the line to back up so that it can take 30-45 minutes just to drop off or pick up your car. The first time I picked up my car after an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation, I was told that they did not rotate the tires because they couldnt find the lug nut key (even though it was sitting in the glove box in plain sight). When I got the car home, I found that it was a quart short of oil. The next time I took it in for an oil change, I once again found that they had under-filled the oil by an entire quart. My most recent experience involved an oil change and spark plug replacement. I got a call from the service manager about an hour after I dropped off the car telling me that they wanted to replace the ignition wires as well. I told them not to do so and to just proceed with the spark plug replacement. I called two hours later and was told that the car would be ready in half an hour. When I went to pick up the car, I was told that the spark plugs had not been changed because nobody had told the technician to do so. The guy behind the counter told me that I could come back another day to change the spark plugs and that they would give me a ten percent discount for my troubles. This did nothing for me because I already had a ten percent discount coupon that I had printed off their web site. Unless you want to waste an entire day getting poor service from an indifferent and poorly trained staff, avoid this place at all costs.
