We live in Harford County and drive to this butcher for 90% of the meat we buy. We purchase whole animals from farmers in Howard County who use this butcher. We are pleased with the product and usually buy additional sausages and other cuts when ever we pick up our order. I love their hot Italian, bratwurst, applewurst, sage, and maple sausage. The 3 star rating is mainly because dealing with them when submitting cut sheets is not as user friendly as it should be. The website doesnt have all of the cuts that they actually offer. For example there are various sausage flavors that you can choose but are not listed. You can also order sausage ropes, links, or loose but only two options are listed. With our lambs we have ordered boned and rolled leg but the processing is not consistent from year to year. Sometimes its a whole roast other times its packaged as a roast but it ended up being boneless chips. If boneless chops are an option I want to see that on the cut sheet because there are times I would prefer that. Also if you dont do a cut sheet then they will cut the animal off a previous cut sheet and my wife and I change the cuts we want from year to year so this is frustrating. Lastly, sometimes I get a call saying my animal is ready and other times we dont. This is an investment which gets you a good quality meat at a cost effective rate but I would like the whole process to be more seamless.

Payed 160.00 for beef tenderloin and it sucked.I went back to talk about the amount of fat and grissel that was in the meat, and I pretty much got blown off. He didnt try to fix the situation, no exchanging for another piece, nothing. So, I went to Costco and and purchased a beef tenderloin and got 2 extra pounds and the price was only $110.14 and it was some of the leanest meat Ive ever purchased. When I showed him what I got from Costco I was told I bought trimmed meat . If that were the case why was it 50.00 dollars cheaper than the meat I bought from there. Im disappointed in the whole thing, I used to buy meat from here all the time and this one experience has made me never want to go back there. Hopefully no one else will have to deal with this in the future.

Phenomenal butcher shop. Lets first start by acknowledging the overwhelming lack of butcher shops today. The degradation of quality in supermarkets has led me to look elsewhere for my meat. I stumbled upon Wagner meats after a quick internet search and decided to give the company a try. I ordered two 30 ounce bone-in rib eyes. They were cut to perfection and the quality was second to none. I was blown away. The butcher personally handed me the steaks and proceeded to engage me in conversation. Customer service is excellent and makes you enjoy your purchase that much more. On top of the aforementioned benefits of shopping here, the prices are also reasonable. If you desire quality over convenience, I would highly recommend this butcher shop.

Best steaks around!!! No frills, know what you need before its your turn, and enjoy! Seriously, if you cant stand the sight of a slab of beef running through the bandsaw behind the counter, then dont go here...it doesnt get any fresher! Cows go in on the left of the parking lot and then....well, you get your meat on the right hand side of the shop. All the beauty happens in between!!

We LOVE Mt. Airy Locker Co. My fiancee and I get most of our meat from them, and its always a great selection, fresh and they have a great variety of items. All that, plus the cost is better than most supermarkets. Its a bit of a drive for us to get there, but entirely worth it.
