Wow what a poor time. So me and a group of friends decided to go the Westover Beer Tavern to have a few drinks and enjoy the fire place. My friends were veterans and were coming from a veterans society football game. They were hungry so we asked if the kitchen was open. When the bar tender on the inside said no, we asked if we could have a pizza delivered outside to which he said sure. We were enjoying our night until our pizza arrived and the outside bar tender flipped out. We explained what we were told inside and he said he would not allow the pizza on there property. He proceeded to take the food from my Veteran buddies (all wearing veteran society shirts) and took it outside their fence. We would have been fine with eating outside accept we just bought a fresh round of beers and that outside bar tender refused to let us leave with the beers. So we had to choose our food or our drinks. So we quickly drank our beers and closed our tabs while our food waited outside on a bush. I ask for the managers # and called him the next day and he wouldnt answer or return my call. What a great way to serve combat veterans.

I am a world traveler. I have lived and traveled in Europe, Asia, Middle East, North & South Americas, and in between, and I have NEVER found a better burger in any part of the world than at the Westover. These premium Sirloin burgers will make vegeterians salivate and theyre sold so cheap! The draft beer selection is also very impressive. Westovers bar offers an extensive selection of the top craft beers available in the nation and their Sirloin burgers are the BEST I ever had (did I say that already?). I visit DC every summer and I dont bother wasting my time or $ at Five Guys because Westovers burgers come from PREMIUM, organic meat (no ground beef, only top cut sirloin, hangers, filet m, etc.). You can TASTE the premium in each burger, all at the same price as youd pay at Five Guys! Westover consistently delivers excellent customer service, superb cuisines, and awesome selections of draft beer at an affordable price! If youre in DC, definitely take a moment to stop by here, I promise you will not be disappointed! I inhaled their first burger on accident, you might do the same. 10/10

Good food, beer, but rude deli counter people!!!! I like this place a lot for the beer. The food is also very good but the guys in the deli are so rude. The other day my friend and I went here to pick up their smoked BBQ and the deli counter guys ignored us. We patiently waited and when they greeted us they seemed annoyed that someone want food to go! I really like the food and was trying to introduce it to a friend. She asked what sides she could get with her meal and the guy told her "I don't care." very weird. I know they smoke the meats out back and they are yummy. However, while my 20 minute wait for our to go order I watched the deli guys warm brisket in the microwave. I like good food but hate the idea of people warming food in a microwave. They have a great place but the guys in the deli need to step up their game. No one wants to treated so rudely. I will give it another try and well see.

High rating is mainly for the beer garden/restaurant. Regarding Beer Garden: Good food/specials, good draft beer selection, fun outdoor atmosphere, great staff. If you want to relax outside with a beer by a fire in the winter, or listen to bands in the summer and eat good food while you do it, this is the only place in Westover to do it, and they do it well. They also have a book club and a science night. Its really great. Regarding the Market. Beer selection is good. Market is a bit more expensive than it should be. Produce is mediocre at best. Not really a very good market overall, but the only general market in reasonable walking distance of Westover. The upside is that they have a really good and sometimes exotic meats, and tons of beers. My high rating is really for the beer garden/bar which I wouldnt want to give less than 5 stars. If I were rating just the market, it would be 3 stars.

I hope this place stays the "Little Known Secret" that it is. You cannot find another place in our around D.C. that has the coolness factor of Westover Beer Garden. What makes this place even better is that they arent trying to get more people. They (we) are happy with being unassuming and colloquial. The genuine nature of the people and the best beer in the North-East make this the single coolest place to be. Finally, it is a family friendly atmosphere with a sand box and flat-screens playing baseball/football games. So STAY AWAY. I dont want my best hangout spot to turn into a crazy place. Oh, and as far as price goes, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap, filtered, flavorless beer, go to TGIFridays.

Westover Market recently lost my business by refusing to honor their shelf price even when shown the tag. I find their prices to already be the highest in Arlington. Ive tolerated that in the past because the beer selection is good, it is convenient, and I like to support local shops. I suggest walking across the street to Lost Dog Cafe instead. The beer selection is slightly smaller but the quality is stellar and there is much less filler. It is also a local store, the service is much better, the prices were slightly better and their mission extends beyond running a business, which may partly explain my experience as a customer. Cheers.

Took a date here in winter. You just cant beat sitting around around a roaring fire pit and drinking draft microbrew while watching NFL on flat-screen TVs. No kidding: they had five-log fires going in three steel fire pits. In summer, they had live bands on the reg. If you knew what you were doing, youd order Mandu, Bulgogi, sesame noodles or a cold deli sandwich and go out onto the patio for three or two beers. The taproom is new since I moved, so I cant speak to that. Even without it, though, this was a consistently good place for beer, jams, light fare and a college-town vibe.

Wonderful beer selection, warm and friendly staff, and a decent little grocery to boot. Theres a beergarden outside after 19:00 each day and in the fall & winter the smell of the wood burning pit fires out there makes the whole neighbourhood smell great! The prices are every bit as good as any of the chain stores, but youll be getting much better service and will be supporting a community shop!

This market is the ultimate heaven for a man! Lots of premium cut, healthy meat and greatly brewed craft beers! I could stay here all day! A great add on, is that they have a very nice outdoor patio for you to enjoy your beer and food with the fresh air.

Finding beer is like an easter egg hunt because they stash it EVERYWHERE! If there is a spare gap in a shelf, theres a 6 pack there. In the warmer months, hit up the outdoor beer garden to sample a slew of great craft beer.
