I am extremely disgusted by my experience with Marlo Furniture in Laurel. I purchased a sofa and loveseat 2 days ago. The deliverers call me this morning to say they were 10 minutes away from my address - they confirmed my apartment # which is on the 4th floor - and asked if someone could meet them at the front of the building. The furniture would not fit on the elevator so the guys proceed to carry it up the stairwell. They reach the 3rd floor and say "well, we cant carry it any further, we will have to leave it here or you will have to pay us an additional 30% of the total cost of the furniture right now." SAY WHAT?!?!? Youre joking right?!?!? So they take the furniture back because I refused to pay hundreds of dollars for them to carry my stuff up the stairs 1 additional flight. I speak with a very ghetto person at their warehouse (the store does not open until 10 am and the delivery was made at 9 am) who says to me "That is our procedure (lips smacking). Didnt they ask you if you had an elevator?" uhmmm, YES and they also asked me for my apartment # several times and as they saw that it was on the 4th floor they should have informed me that if the furniture did not fit in the elevator there would be an additional charge to be paid at the time of delivery to carry the furniture up to the 4th floor. IF I had been told this in advance I could have made other arrangements and/or simply decided to purchase elsewhere. Since they dropped the ball and were not professional - I WANT A FULL REFUND. So ghetto girl proceeds to say "well, you gotta go into the store for that but there will be a cancellation fee." TRICK PLEASE you not getting a penny out of me for your negligence - I want every single penny of my money BACK and that financing contract rendered NULL & VOID!! As quickly as you took my down-payment out of my account, thats how fast I want it all back. She heard a dial tone after that... I WILL NEVER do business with Marlo again. If you are no disclosing something of this nature, what else are you hiding in that financing contract? Not to mention, there was a couple there at the time I purchased who were upset because the furniture they paid for was discontinued and they didnt find out until the day before delivery was expected. Dont do business with Marlo Furniture. Spend your money elsewhere, save yourself the hassle.

Marlo quality and customer service are the absolute worst. About a year ago, I purchased a bedroom set there. We set up delivery of the pieces they actually had in stock. They never came. When I called at the end of the day, they said that the delivery appointment wasnt even in the computer! I had to again set up another time. This time, they came. After unpacking the bed, they saw that the bed slats were the wrong size. The delivery guy just put the King size ones on the Queen bed sideways, and said that it would work. Right.... So I called Marlo back that day, only to find that they wouldnt delivery the slats until about 2 weeks later. I decided that was too long, so I drove down to the Forestville store to pick them up. After returning home with them and unpacking the box, I noticed there were no screws, bolts, any hardware in the box. And there are holes in the slats to attach it to the bed frame. At this point I was done with Marlo and took it upon myself to get it fixed. A few days ago, the slats finally started to become a little wobbly due to my installation of them. I figure Id try Marlo one more time to get a replacement set. Trying to talk to non-English speaking customer service reps is not high on my list of ways to waste a morning, but thats what happned. They transferred me to warrenty claims, and to other service reps. No one could answer me if they could just sell me the slats. Finally someone said they should be able to sell me slats in a store. Okay, so I went to the Laurel Store. "Hello, I have a Marlo bed, can I buy replacement bed slats"?" "No, we dont sell just the bed slats" "Customer Service said you did" "Oh yeah, we can sell the slats" Oh my. But again, I would have to go to Forestville to get them. So Im completely through with them. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MARLO. COMPLETE JOKE. By the way, the slats that Marlo sells with their beds IS NOT the slats that would come with the bed straight from the manufacturer. I have the SitCom Cosmo bed, which comes with bent slats, yet Marlo packages it with straight slats that dont mount to anything. Very scary and very not right. I hate Marlo.

We bought a leather family room set from Marlo last summer (7/2015). First, they were offering a promotion, "zero interest for 1 year." However, they failed to tell you that though youre not being charged any "INTEREST" for one year, you will, however, be charged a $47 per month "service fee." I didnt catch it until six months later while looking at my statement and bam there it was. Once I realized this, I paid the entire balance off to avoid this service charge. Needless to say, I would have never went with the so called "zero interest for a year" promotion had I known before hand of this service charge. Thus, the reason they failed to inform me of it. Second, my leather ottoman arrived with a long scratch on the top from one end to the other. The delivery guy contacted Marlo while still in my family room that same day. I spoke with the representative on the phone and she asked me to upload a picture of the scratch and send it to them, which I did. After 3 weeks, I received a call from Marlo stating that they received the picture and someone will be calling me to schedule a time to come and pickup the ottoman for repair. Three months went by and finally Marlo called and arranged the pickup. A repair guy showed up on pickup day and said that he was only here to "repair" an ottoman and was not told that it was a scratch in the leather, which he says cannot be repaired but rather needs to be reupholstered, which he doesnt do. Again, the repairman contacts Marlo in my family room and it sounded as if he was leaving a voice message regarding the ottoman needing to be reupholstered not repaired. He assured me that Marlo will contact me to schedule the pick-up of the ottoman for reupholstering. Nevertheless,5 weeks have gone by with no call from Marlo. It has been 7 months since I purchased this furniture and I am still waiting on Marlo to come and get this badly scratched ottoman. I will never ever buy anything ever again from Marlo. They intentionally fail to disclose important information regarding charges and hidden fees and the customer service is horrendous.

Never...EVER...EVER...shop here! I purchased and PAID IN FULL for my purchase of a hutch and side table 16 1/2 weeks ago. Yes...I paid in full back in SEPTEMBER when I order the items and it is JANUARY 10TH. When we ordered we were told it would be 4 -6 weeks. I assumed in my head that meant 8 weeks and basically was prepared not to get the items until Thanksgiving. (I had read the reviews online, but they were the only place that had a piece that I liked so I figured....how bad could it be...ITS THAT BAD!) Well Thanksgiving came and went and so did Christmas. STILL NO FURNITURE! They are supposedly delivering this weekend. Well see... Also, I have called them over 15 times! Unless someone has picked up the phone when I have called dont expect your phone call returned. I have NEVER, NOT ONCE received a call back! When I asked for some type of discount for the ridiculous wait time, I was told they would credit me back the $80 delivery fee. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago and I was told it would take 5 -10 days to post on my credit card. Its still not there...of course...why would it be?!? I called yesterday about the delivery and about the credit to my account. I was told theyre delivery on Saturday, but that they didnt know anything about the $80 and that someone would have to call me back...did that happen? NO! Im very nervous about getting the furniture this weekend. What its its damaged? Ill be stuck with it, because theres not way this company is going to do the honorable thing! I will update this review once (IF) I receive my order, receive my credit (which should be WAY MORE THAN $80), and receive my furniture in unharmed condition. Maybe Ill get a response to this, since they IGNORE my phone calls!
