Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I was in search of a very specific ring and Colonial Jewelers was 1 of 6 stores that carry it within 3 hours of my home. I shopped around a bit but decided to go with Colonial Jewelers because their service was incredible from the moment I stepped through the door until the moment I left. The day I purchased the ring, I was met with congratulations from the staff and a gift bag containing champagne, diamond cleaner, and a congratulatory note. After I proposed, my fiance and I went back to the store to get the ring sized. The ring was sent off for about two weeks and once the store received it, it was shipped to my home. When my fiance tried it on, we quickly discovered it was not the correct size so we planned a trip to the store a couple weeks later. At the store, we affirmed the ring was in fact too large but not because my fiance was measured wrong or because the ring was sized incorrectly but because the unique design of the ring made it incompatible with the standard sizing scale. The onsite goldsmith was able to take the ring down a half size in less than an hour! While we were there, we met the owner who was very grateful for our business and apologized for the inconvenience. My only gripe is we must drive to the store twice per year to get the ring inspected otherwise the lifetime warranty is void. The warranty is for the small outer stones only, not the center diamond. . . home owner insurance covers the center diamond for a small annual charge. Three major things I enjoyed about Colonial Jewelers: 1. I was at no point in time pressured into making a purchase, especially one I could not afford. 2. Customer service was unmatched by competitors I browsed. 3. The staff was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Colonial, I will be back for wedding bands. *********************************************EDIT************************************************ Today we went to get my fiances ring inspected for the first time. While in the store we asked why the rose gold wore off showing silver underneath. The representative stated "this is completely normal and will happen over time. That is why people have them refinished." I understand this; however, my fiance has only had the ring 6 months. . . No reason the ring should need to be refinished after such a short period of time. As stated above, we live about 3 hours away and opted to have the store refinish the ring and mail it to us. I was expecting the $50 shipping fee to be waived since the ring is still very new, that was not the case. We will think twice about purchasing from Colonial again.

I brought my Wedding/Engagement set in to Colonial Jewelers to look for ideas to remount it after having it for 26 years; it was due. The shank and prongs were well worn down. The sales associate Janenne. greeted me and immediately I told her I was clueless on what to do but knew I wanted white gold this time around, and something unique with an antique feel. I don’t think she knows this, but this was my second time in. Months prior I came in to get ideas, but didn’t feel a connection with the sales rep. Not complaining at all, there are just some people you connect with and Janenne showed patience, which I needed a lot of, and understanding. We worked together for months to come up with a design that fit me and was completely different than anything out there. I know what I want but have a hard time getting it across because I am so eclectic. Janenne was very patient with me and did a great job keeping me on track and making sure the design came out exactly how I wanted. I am a very visual person so the molds come in handy; however you have to look at the whole mold from all angles and not just the top looking down. So needless to say I did not ‘Love’ the setting when it was produced. I wore it for a month and just didn’t feel it. This ring carries so much sentimental meaning to me and I do not plan on changing it ever again. It had to be perfect and I just didn’t feel it. There was something missing from the original design and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I was embarrassed to go back into the store and didn’t want to complain because I knew I approved the mold. Janenne being very professional, along with Colonial Jewelers, understood my concerns and we came up with an agreement we all could agree on that was fair for both sides. Janenne researched my design even more, listened to what was important to me and came up with the solution. We redesigned the ring and I couldn’t be more ecstatic on the outcome. I will definitely be going back to Colonial Jewelers and recommend to all my friends. I don’t think I gained just a favorite jeweler, but also a friend. I am in the Customer Service industry and Janenne takes the cake! Thank you Janenne for all you did for me.

I originally went to colonial jewelers because I went to high school with the owners (the Hurwitzs) kids. I figured they would be a good, secure place to go to. My fiance had given me an engagement ring with a corresponding band that came from his grandma. We wanted to get it appraised and have them make sure the prongs and settings were tight. When we went in, the woman didnt even talk to us about options or explain what she was doing but immediately started writing a sales ticket and work order for my rings. She told us that the ring was wearing thin and that they would have to fix the prongs as well as fix the band. She never gave us options or explained the process, but just tallied this up on the sales ticket. By the time she was done, we were sitting there trying to figure out what the numbers meant and how much this was going to cost. Finally she said it was going to cost over $2100 to do all the things she didnt even explain! Once again, I was trusting and really didnt have a choice because before I knew it she had put my rings in a bag and shook our hands and said they would call us when they were done. We left in silence and had driven about 5 miles before we looked at each other and decided to go back and get the rings. There was no way it could be this expensive! Not to mention we dont even know if the rings are even WORTH that much! Needless to say, we got our rings back and Im glad we did after reading other peoples posts about them switching diamonds. So much for thinking a local family could not rip you off....poor business tactics indeed.

This jewelry store is flat out amazing! I almost wish that I could have been a fly on the wall when my fiancé went to pick out my ring. He was helped by the associate Gwen - she is fantastic. Kevin knew that all I cared about and dreamed about was having a yellow diamond. Though they did not have any yellow diamonds in the store, Gwen went out of her way to have SEVERAL yellow diamonds brought in for Kevin to look at. She then helped Kevin pick out the best of the best setting for the diamond. I could not have imagined a more perfect ring. Though I did not have 1st hand experience with the engagement ring, I did get the experience with Gwen when we picked out our wedding bands. It took 20 minutes tops. I was so nervous I would not be able to pick out a setting that would compliment my halo style ring but I was soooo wrong. I was shown many options and then got these rings in in less than a week!! The ladies get a free manicure to show off the ring as well as free cleaning any time you want! If this store does not have what you are looking for in the store they will go out of their way to get it for you. All of the girls in the store are so sweet and patient! Gwen knows her stuff and has such a laid back personality for a "salesperson". You will feel like you are picking something out with your very best friend who will be honest with you and make you feel so comfortable about saying yes.
