Problem 1 Has anyone noticed that the drawers of many Gardinerss furniture have a very strong odor (different smells but all stinking)? We recently measured formaldehyde level in the drawers of the dresser and night stands we purchased last year from Gardiners and the level was 4 times higher than Federal regulation. This has really concerned me and Im trying to contact their customer service to see what they think about this. The store said they usually just trusted the manufacturers without checking those chemical levels. Im also going to consult a lawyer to see if there is any action we can take. Problem 2 We bought a lot of furniture from this store last year and we had a fairly good experience with this store. Last year, the sales associate who worked with us was very helpful, thoughtful and, more important, he went through every single thing that he believed we should know so we didnt have any problems with our purchase. We went back and purchased an ottoman from this store on 3/14/2015. There was a price tag on the item that showed a price mark-down at 55% ($212). We asked a sales manager if we could get it in a different fabric and she said yes. So we found the fabric we liked and confirmed with her she was charging us the 55% price. Then we made the purchase. Because we totally trusted them, we didnt review the receipt. Two days later, I suddenly realized that I paid $260 for this item which just didnt make sense to me as I remember the 55% off price which I actually took a photo of on that day. So I took out the receipt and saw that the price they printed on there is $246. I called them tonight and was told that it was a special order because we ordered a fabric that is different from that of the displayed item and hence it was $34 more expensive. However, that sales associate didnt warn us beforehand at all. The on-duty manager I talked to tonight told me she would suggest me watch out for things like this going forward. That totally disappointed me and trashed all my trust in this store. Im going back to the store this Saturday to speak with that associates manager. If they dont give me the money back or allow me to return the item, Ill never go back there again. Also were going to tell our friends not to go there or they shouldnt trust the sales there and theyll really need to watch out for themselves.

Buying from Gardiners was the most customer unfriendly retail experience I ever had. Our salesman really knew the products but was Joe Slick. After we decided on furniture, fabric, and a bunch of other things and went to write, we got a blast of papers that was all about Gardiners -- disclaimers, default, customer responsibilities, etc. Furniture must be moved and a path cleared so the delivery drivers can carry it in and set it down -- wouldnt want them to earn their pay. We were given an approximate date and never heard anything. We called two weeks after the date and it took three tries to get an answer because the idiots who answered the phone could not find the order status. It finally came in three weeks after promised. Then they wont schedule delivery until the balance is paid and you have to physically go to the store to do that. (Hey Gardiners, 1970 called and wants its business practices back.) Then we made the payment and they couldnt deliver for two more weeks. I hope the furniture is better than Gardiners customer service. Wolfs Furniture better make significant improvements at the Gardiner stores or they are toast.

I bought some floor samples and was initially told the delivery was done differently for floor samples. In the course of the sale I was asked to sign a page indicating that items not picked up in 30 days would be released for sale to other customers. After my transaction was written up, I was given a page with prices and a phone number to contact the delivery person at Judds and arrange my delivery. When I raised my eyebrows, the price on the floor samples was adjusted. I was then told that when I contacted the delivery company I would pay them directly. Charges are based on the number of pieces of furniture and distance from the store to the delivery site. I called them first thing in the morning and left a message with my number, no call back 13 hours later. Mind you, my paid for furniture is sitting on the show room floor and I am waiting for someone to return my call so I can arrange delivery. I am responsible for arranging delivery with a company that doesnt return calls, and I have to keep trying or in 30 days I will be penalized. This is not the way to run a railroad or a furniture business.

Not a very good store. Buyer beware - their sales are just scams. Some prices that seem too good to be true to lure into buying - but if you go back after couple of weeks youll similar prices (a few dollars here and there). We bought the furniture 3rd Jan 2010 and was told 4-6 weeks and today is Feb3rd. We were almost awaiting to get the bed anytime. Well; guess what - sales rep just called and said the bed will be delivered at end of March. How frustrating is that to wait 3months ! We have spent so many countless hours in 2 months prior shopping at almost every furniture store in Baltimore MD vicinity till we thought we liked one that fit our style and decor; althought it was over-priced. But this type of customer service is really aweful in this day-and-age. I will taking my business elsewhere after this sour experience. I just took time to post this, to prevent other people going thru the same bad experience. Good luck whereever you shop.

I really like Gardiner Wolf Furniture. I have bought pieces from here before and the quality is impeccable. The staff are great! They will allow me to browse without hovering over asking questions. I am always pleased with my purchases. It is a great shopping experience for me. I can spend hours (which I do) looking for the right item and most of the time I will find it.

Me and my family wandered around the store for at least 30 minutes today looking for a couch and some bedroom furniture. Despite several sales associates walking by on the floor not one made eye contact or even said hello. Someone was also smoking downstairs by the open warehouse door, half of the floor smelled like smoke. I doubt we will be returning.

I have purchased many items over the years and have never been disappointed. Recently purchased a dining room ,cocktail table and dresser. The pieces look wonderful cant wait for the sectional we ordered to arrive. I would recommend Gardiners to anyone looking for great furniture, exceptional prices and great customer service.

We had a great salesman and he left they company so our furniture has been sitting in the warehouse for over 3 months without one person contacting us for delivery information. Funny how they are quick to take your money but not deliver what you paid for.

Its not my favorite furniture store (styles didnt match my tastes), but theres nothing wrong with it and you may very well find stuff you like. People were helpful without being pushy.
