COST FOR DAMAGES TO CAR UPON DELIVERY WERE NOT RECOUPED FROM EVAN BERNEY AS PROMISED My son purchased a Benz E350 from Evan Berney (owner) as a birthday present for me in Feb 2014. I lived in Florida and the car was to be delivered to me around Feb 27 from Baltimore and it was, but WITH incident. The day the car was delivered, the driver attempted to back the car off of the truck. He did not flatten the bed and I witnessed him scraping the bottom of my front bumper (looked like he was going to pull it off) on the metal floor bed. I had to yell for the driver to stop! He got out of the car and flattened the bed to remove my car. I inspected the car and noted all of the damage and immediately asked for his information to call the trucking company. The trucker asked me to call Evan, which I did. We talked over the phone, and Evan asked me not to contact the trucking company because it would ruin his business with that company. He vowed that he would take care of the damages. I believed him because I thought he was an honest person. Well I have found out that is not the case. Evan initially gave me the number of a guy named Greg to contact about fixing the damages. "Greg" never answered and the phone kept going to vm. I told Evan about this. I then decided to meet with a certified collision center to get an estimate for the damages to submit to Evan. The amount of damages were $2139.29 of which I submitted to Evan along with pictures. Evan then tried to send me to some other friend he called Jr (who was located over 50 miles from my home) to fix my car. I didnt agree to that because I told him that I wanted my damages fixed by a Mercedes certified collision center to make sure the car was fixed correctly and that the parts were Mercedes parts. Evan didnt like the costs to fix the damages but yet insisted that he would get them fixed. He even asked me to file the damages with MY car insurance, of which I refused to do. Eventually Evan sent me a check for $500 and a letter insisting "this is coming out of or our pocket and this is not an expense we expected to incur while assisting in finding transportation for your vehicle." Evan is the person who decided how my vehicle was going to be transported. I have refused the check and never cashed it because I dont agree with the fact the he REFUSES to pay for the total cost of the damages. I WANT TO BE FULLY REIMBURSED FOR THE DAMAGES AND WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR WHATS RIGHT. EVAN HAS TAKEN FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COSTS BUT ONLY WANTS TO PAY AN AMOUNT LESS THAN THE ACTUAL COSTS FOR THE DAMAGES. I have written him and called him numerous times but he avoids the situation. I would not trust Evan Berney and the way they handle business at Carbiz. They lack integrity and appear to have suspicious dealings at that business. In fact, I never saw or signed an inspection report/documents for the car when it was delivered and I am not sure that my car was put on the truck for delivery using the trucking companies policies and with their knowledge. I feel that there may have been a side deal between Evan and the truck driver to deliver my vehicle, which is why Evan insisted that I dont call the trucking company. I dont think my car was scheduled properly for delivery and the trucker may have been paid under the table.

How all car dealerships should operate. Bought my car from Carbiz recently and was extremely satisfied. I went to a lot of places and checked out reviews from about 10 other dealerships in Baltimore. The prices from Carbiz were the best and they have an incredible amount of positive reviews on Google Places and other reputable sites. The low rating on Yelp was the only site where they have sub-par ratings. But after reading through the negative ones, I realized that most of them werent from actual consumers or had complaints about trivial things. One was an issue with being told different pricing than when they actually decided to make the purchase. That was not the case for me at all. The price was the same online as it was when I signed. The no haggle pricing makes things really simple. If you can afford the price, great. If not, find something else thats in your price range. Its really that simple. We test drove several cars before I ended up pulling the trigger on an Acura. The price was the best I could find in Baltimore. I worked with Sam and he was extremely friendly and accommodating. Didnt hassle or pressure me at all. Very knowledgeable about each car I looked at and had an answer for all of my questions. I didnt make a purchase after my first visit and wasnt pressured to make a deal that day. When I decided to move forward, most of the work was already done when I got to the dealership and I was in and out in under an hour. The inside is very clean and everyone else I dealt with was friendly. I also liked that the dealers have been with the company for a while. Sam for more than 4 years and the other person I spoke with has been there for 13. Highly recommended!

I usually make efforts to post the review but this time i feel privilage to share the experience... I did work with Mr. Sam Sarris a wonderful sales person. The place has great ambiance, i live in different state than the delareship is located so had a long ride going there and I am glad that I made it. Usually buying a car is hassle to work with dealer and all but Sam made it very easy. I felt like i am buying grocery and bought the car almost under an hour. Had test ride next day posted deposits because the day took test ride was too late to work it out. So next day i called in and deposited for Lexus es300h that i bought. Sams guidance was pretty helpful and point to point. Next day he was off to work so i decided to wait till he come back work with him. Thats it next day i went there and deal close and the beauty was delivered to me almost 100 miles for at no cost by Sam as he commuted to do so. Sam please keep up the way you are treating customer with all gratitude. Great work buddy!!! Surely I can recommend that they will have a good experience! And I m keep falling in love every day with my lexus more and more!!!! Thank You Sam!!! Always stay blessed!!!

Sam, Katie, and Matt made buying my first car a very comfortable and peaceful experience for me! My car had seen its final days so I knew that I had to find a new one. I set up a few test drives and Carbiz was my first one. I left there the first day loving the car and knowing that Id most likely get this one but I wanted to make sure I had seen what I need to see. Sam made me feel comfortable leaving the first day without pressure and not feeling like Id be rushed into anything. After finishing my rounds, I knew that Carbiz was much different than other dealers. Other dealers tried to put me on the spot and cut me deals right away but Sam and the team knew I needed to think about it. So I was much more confident going back and starting the process! They really worked with me to get me the best deal I could afford and again allowed me to make decisions without pressure. Matt made the financial side of things easy to understand and he patiently answered my questions. It suffices to say, I am very happy with my purchase and with their follow up and customer service. I would buy from them again.
