My neighbor told me not to go to this shop because "the mechanics are crack heads" who he wouldnt trust with his $2,000 mountain bike, but I wanted to check it out myself because its nearby my house. The shop keeper (Stu) was rude and their selection of equipment is very limited and overpriced. Their techs did look a little sketchy but I didnt risk it for the sake of this review. They did not have many comfort, cruiser, or city bikes - instead mostly what I call "toy / racing bikes" aka. BMX, Mountain, Road.... What was interesting is that they do stock a few cheap Mopeds and Scooters, so that is nice. Right after I entered a couple who said they had just moved to Baltimore from Amsterdam walked in (Im not kidding), interested in purchasing a pair of real city bikes - clearly they were looking for Euro-style roadsters with baskets, lights, fenders, steel frames, internal-gear hubs, chainguards, upright seating position, heavy-duty racks, etc. ..... Also the man was nearly 7 feet tall... not being prepared for this, I figured Stu would have tried to special-order something for them and then add on all the extras they were requesting. But thats not what happened - instead he tried and tried to convince them to buy these cheap mountain bikes which were way too small for them, and didnt want to do do any extra work for them at all. Eventually everyone left without buying anything. I didnt say anything but this left me pretty disgusted with the place. If all you are looking for is a cheap toy bike or moped, you could get it cheaper somewhere else. If you want solid transportation, they wont help you. Either way this place is best avoided.

Be careful with these guys. Worst place around. This is the kind of place where you go for a flat and they mess up your bike even more so you have to come back the very next day. I just came in for a rear flat and right after they changed the camera, all of a sudden, the whole tire was wiggley and loose. Im not sure, but I think they even pierced it to make me buy a NEW one, and it looked like the one they installed was already used. You know, BS like that.. or at least thats my experience. I use my bike to go to work and for me riding in the city is not all fun and joy, I mean, service like that could even put your safety at risk, of course they didnt let me walk out without fixing it first, I had no other choice. Besides that guy just keeps bragging about how good his business is... and Its clearly not. Ive been there now 3 times in the last 2 weeks, and this was my last time. Please save yourself some time, money and effort and never go to this place, but if you want to find out for yourself be my guest, perhaps youll get another impression. Mine is: Expensive. Poor costumer service and support. Bad quality installations and repairs The place just feels nasty.. Not worth another visit.

I stopped in there for a heavy duty scooter lock/chain and had already compared prices online. I was checking out a chain that would have run me about one twenty five on Amazon (shipped) but I prefer to buy from local businesses and could maybe spare myself the turnaround time of having it shipped. The big guy behind the counter wanted one eighty and when I told him that sorry, I wasnt interested in that one at that price he got huffy and hostile, essentially jumping down my throat and asking if I want to see the paperwork showing how much he pays etc. I told him that no, I believe him I just need to be money conscious and look for the best deal. He started raising his voice at me and bitching on my way out the door. Terrible customer service. When a proprietor of a store starts yelling at me because I am comparison shopping and found his store to be lacking, you can bet I wont be buying anything from him. Sorry to say but the reviews are true. I guess maybe there are some things they sell that are worth it to some people but Ill take my money elsewhere.

please never ever go here. i know what youre thinking, "it cant be that bad ill see for myself" DONT i read the reviews before going and assumed people were just overreacting. trust me theyre not. the owner is horribly rude the workers bully each other literally an employee curses and verbally abuses the other like theyre siblings. its horribly disgusting in there, theres dust covering everything. nothing looks brand new and if it was you cant tell. and omg i went in because my bike was wobbly he told me my headset was loose and tightened one bolt with an allen wrench. im not over exaggerating either he literally took and allen wrench turned a bolt a few times and charged me $20. theyre selling cheap parts at an insane price. everything is super over priced. it is not worth it trust me never go here. theyre crummy.

Broadway Bicycles reminds me of the reason I moved from N. VA to Baltimore. Going into Broadway is an experience of entering feeling nervous about going some place new, and leaving feeling like family. Stuart, the owner, is awesome and is incredibly funny and warm. In NoVA I would have been attententively and cooly dealt with. Here you are treated like someone who WANTS to be there, and Stuart and the staff include you in the shop. Stuart convinced me to fix my bike that had been damaged by a homeless kid who had been living with us. I was iffy about repairing it, but when I got it home and rode it, I almost cried. It felt like when I first figured out how to ride a bike! I felt like I could fly. I also bought a fabulous bike for my husband. We will not be going any where else for our biking needs!

DO NOT GO IN HERE IF YOURE NOT SURE WHAT YOU NEED. I admit they do have a good selection of parts but they will try to sell you unnecessarily expensive parts if you rely on them to pick for you. Also they have NO respect for the customer which was aparent when I walked in and they were slamming a previous customers intelligence for not knowing what size tire they were looking for (if you dont work on bikes regularly then it would be hard to be 100% sure). Then I asked about a headset and he got visibly mad when I didnt know what the difference between an internal and external headset. So like I said go in there knowing what you want and I mean down to the model number and average pricing, keep the conversation to a minimum and you might be satisfied with your visit.

Just bought 2 new bikes and thought I would take them to a bike shop for a look over (which I was willing to pay for). There is a guy at the shop (Stu) who was rude and abrupt. Called before I got there and he was the same on the phone. He was not helpful and told me to stand in line as he read a magazine. It ended up that another person in line (not an employee) help me with my questions and I left the store just buying a tire pump. I would have bought more (locks, bike repair kit etc) if I was treated differently. Since I just bought these bikes, I am looking for a local store that I can bring them in to be tuned up, checked etc. I can tell you this, I will NEVER go back. Stu seemed to be bothered by the fact that the bikes were bought online
