I will not use MST anymore. Let me start by stating that Ive been installing car audio since I was 12. Yes thats almost 30 years. People ask me to install audio from time to time because I have tons of experience but it is not my profession. I usually send them to Ralph’s or MST. I have never had an issue until this last time. I sent a friends son over there to install an amp and a speaker box with 2 subs in it. Easy peasy right. I called and told them to take care of my friend as usual. I also told them to leave the wiring in the box alone because it was already set up on a 4 Ohm load for this teenager that I sent. You can guess what happens next. After one day of bass, it quit working. He brought it back to MST and their response was “those speakers must have been too old and have blown.” I took a look at the subs and what I found was that the installer changed the wiring but didn’t connect one of the terminals inside the box. This lead to all 600 watts going to one speaker which was not capable of handling all that power. It was designed to handle half of that amp not the whole amp. When the installer was finished he should have caught that only one speaker was playing and corrected it then. The installer also told the customer that if he opened his trunk when he was playing music the speakers would blow. That’s ridiculous amateur work! So there you have it. An easy job gone bad. I should have just done it myself.

Installed an aftermarket radio in my car... failed to mention they stripped and modified my factory satellite radio wire... to fit the aftermarket radio... making it very easy for the wire to break... in which it did... leaving me with a useless satellite radio antenna and having to get the wire repaired... 300 dollars paid to them to do a simple installation... turned into the biggest headache and a waste of money... make sure you ask questions and ask to watch the installation... or they will fo whatever the hell they want to your vehicle...
