tl;dr AVOID ROYAL NISSAN. Outrageous prices, rude cashier, not honoring my appointment and actually beginning work at the time of the appointment, general poor service, icing on the cake: they over-charged me, didnt bother to check the charge when I pointed it out at the time I paid, called a day later to issue a partial refund. First a short back story: I am moving my girlfriend and needed a trailer hitch on my Xterra. Unfortunately, she informed me on a Monday that we needed to get a Uhaul and load it up by Tuesday because things were going on Wednesday and Thursday that would prevent us from packing those days. I call and make an appointment for 10AM on Tuesday to have the hitch installed and a 30,000 mile checkup done since its also that time. Why not kill two birds with one stone. Tuesday morning I drive to Nissan and drop the Xterra off at 9:30AM. I speak to Kenny and he says it should be ready by 2:30 or 3 at the latest. Perfect... Uhaul closes at 5 so we should be fine. My ride arrives and I head back home to wait for the go-ahead to pick up the Xterra. Around 1:45PM Kenny calls me and goes over all the stuff that will be done in the 30,000 mile checkup. He mentions I will be able to pick up the Xterra in the morning on Wednesday.... Wait a minute, why the hell did I make and appointment for 10AM and leave my car there for 4 hours for you to not have even started the work at 2PM? Not to mention the cost of the 30,000 mile checkup was an unbelievably OUTRAGEOUS $1100. For reference, the 30k checkup on my Lexus was $900, and I know Royal Nissan isnt putting near the care into the 30k checkup as a Lexus dealer would. I tell Kenny to forget about the checkup and get the hitch on it because I need it today. Fast forward to 3pm, I call Kenny and he tells me the car is ready. We head down to pick it up. The hitch plus install was $875. My jaw hit the floor. Kenny even quoted me on the phone $669 minutes ago before I came in. I say to Debbie that I was quoted much less than that and she quips, "Well they dont include the tax." Yeah lady, and tax isnt 30%. I bite my lip and pay the price and vow never to set foot in Royal Nissan again. Just a day later (today in fact) I check my voicemail and I am due a refund from Royal Nissan to the order of $206 because.... dun dun dun... they charged double for labor!!! Maybe you should check the invoice next time, Debbie. For the sake of transparency, I will note that Kenny offered to take 10% off the cost of the 30k mile checkup and provide a free rental for the day when I rescheduled. Sorry, Kenny, but for a first time customer to have the experience I had... theres no way I will be coming back to Royal Nissan.

My husband and I lost our suv in the flood of August and we decided to give Royal Nissan a chance. We explained the situation to them and they buttered us up well and we thought they were sincere. Little did we know, they had other intentions and they dont care about their customers but rather how far they can push the limit and how much they can get out of them. We dealt with Sandra and this really tall guy (shouldve been a basketball player) and while the people were very friendly, they were completely unprofessional! They got us pre approved over the phone so I went the next day to test drive the vehicle I was interested in and they said we were qualified for. After test driving I was told that my husband and I could come back that afternoon and do paper work and I would finally have another suv. Later that evening we go in to do paper work and sat in the waiting area for 45 minutes to an hour without anyone saying so much as hello. After waiting around they finally called us back only to tell us that, they changed their minds and that the vehicle I wanted wasnt one they wanted to sell to us because suddenly, we werent approved for it after they said many times before that we were and then offered to put us in a 2012 tiny Toyota car that wasnt even on their lot it was on another lot they supposedly had and asked for same amount, down payment and all, as the suv for this tiny car!!! All while knowing that we didnt just want an SUV we needed one. We have a 2 year old, 3 year old and a 5 month old and couldnt fit them and their car seats in a car if we wanted to. They tried to play bait and switch and wasted our time and got our hopes up as if we hadnt been through enough. We were prepared to buy a 2016 or 2017 Chevy equinox. Oh and might I add, we hired a baby sitter just so we could do all of this so we also wasted money on top of our time. I understand they need to make money off of their customers but they were totally unprofessional and deceitful. I DO NOT recommend this dealership at all! Your time and money will be better spent somewhere else. They arent even worth one star, id give it a zero if it were possible. ***UPDATE: My husband recently found out that they pinged our credit 12 times each a minute apart and dropped our credit score 50 more points. Guess they werent thrilled with our review but what I said was total honesty. They are nothing but a big mistake.

Brought my Nissan Maxima in for a routine oil change and new tires installed. Took 3 service visits to get the car running properly. First visit, the “express technician” performs the oil change and mounts the tires. When I pickup the car I notice a front end shimmy at highway speeds. Upon inspection, Royal Nissan mounted both drivers’ side tires on backwards and the valve stem caps are missing. Mounting asymmetrical tires on backwards can cause many issues including poor wet weather traction, excessive road noise and balancing issues. Second visit, I am reassured that the “senior technician” will correct the issues from the previous visit. I get the call to pickup the car and already, I notice one valve stem cap is still missing. So I make a point to collect one from the service department. I drive the car home and hope that is the end of it. The next morning, the tire pressure in my drivers side rear tire has dropped by 15 PSI. I bring the car back into the dealership and they try to dismiss the problem by including the possibility of a tire defect (forgetting they mounted the tires backwards possibly causing damage). The technician remounts the tire, saying it was not properly seated (from previous visit). Basically, any reputable car dealership should be able to perform such a simple job without the errors and issues I experienced above. The lack of responsibility and accountability on behalf of Royal Nissan is why I am giving a one star rating. There are many full service car dealerships in the Baton Rouge area, and I would highly recommend skipping this one.

April 2016 I went in, poor credit but did have down payment, Chris helped me, everything was flowing and then all of a sudden they kept needing different things. The bank that finally approved me said I need $1000 down, when it came down to paying it, Mike in finance said oh they actually want $250 extra which was a surprise, Im a student and living on my own, that was definitely a surprise so I had to borrow that money from my brother. I was also told I couldnt get GAP insurance and they never told me why and I was told I had a warranty, and I dont. This was my first car and they totally ruined it for me. I was grateful to get a car but now I want to try and switch and they are giving me the run around, now all of a sudden Mike and Chris are never available to talk or meet. I have a Nissan versa 2016, I dont feel safe driving it, every time I go over 60 miles the car wobbles and that is the only reason I am needing o trade the car in. I just feel hurt in a sense that they would take advantage of someone. Im not sure I would recommend, I will still try and get in contact with someone, I even tried to talk with another dealer since Chris is never available and they wouldnt even talk to me or try to work with mw. I dont know, this is very depressing and it sucks.
