My background is 20 years of mountain biking, including working part time at the old St. Matthews Schwinn. I have been to nearly every bike shop in town and discovered Middletown Cycling last fall. The folks there were (are) extremely friendly and helpful and their product line is high quality. I ended up deciding to upgrade from my old down hill bike to new Giant hard tail. Unfortunately, earlier this spring I had a really bad wreck and destroyed my new bike. This was a once in a life time type crash that I was lucky to walk away from. I took the trashed bike back to Middletown Cycling. I told them that I understood the wreck was my fault, but asked them if there was anything they could do to help me out. They were extremely helpful and walked me through Giants crash replacement program. Along the way I decided too upgrade some parts. Ross, Rich and their staff were very patient and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I am extremely happy with the way they took care of me after something that was my fault. Middletown Cycling will be my bike shop of choice from now on. (For full disclosure, Giants crash replacement program is not free, but it is better than just losing your bike. I just dont want anybody to think they can get a new bike just by crashing their old one.)

Middletown Cycling has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity and customer loyalty, due in large part to their genuine customer service model. Simply put, the owners are normal guys who are in the shop most every day. They dont simply throw the msrp on the newest shipment off the truck, they constantly hunt for deals so that they can put anybody who comes into their shop on a high quality product. God, I know how contrived that sounds, but I am a x4 customer who is sitting on two bikes worth thousands more than what I paid. Any time I have a problem, I bring in the bike and a wrench is on it IMMEDIATELY. prices for Labour are fair and the staff will transparently work the manufacturer warranty for you instead of you having to plead your case. As I said above, I have a top tier mountain bike and road bike thanks to these guys and am a huge brand ambassador for them. Middletown Cycling, Rider Die

Just purchased by giant trance from there. Ross was very knowledgeable and easy to work with they even set up my suspension and did a safety check before I took my bike home I highly recommend this Shop to anybody who is looking for a new bike. I went back to have my bike looked over and have some wheels installed on my Trance. they had the parts I needed in stock and were very knowledgeable in advising me on what I would need for further upgrades. Also they got my bike in and out of the service dept surprisingly fast. They continue to impress me with each visit. Middletown cycles is definitely worth the drive from Lexington even if it is for something small

Had a basic bike setup done by Alex. The comfort level of my new bike went way up! I can ride further and more comfortably. He answered many questions I had about cycling(and I didnt even buy the bike there as Id not yet discovered them). He also talked me out of buying a seat that day and riding things a bit to see what I wanted. He was more concerned with my riding than their sales. I did end up purchasing a seat and bought it with pleasure from these guys. I cant say enough good about this place!! I am not an overly knowledgeable cyclist but I know a thing or two about customer service and I can confidently say, these folks do as well!

I initially went in a few weeks back because they were listed on the web as a Cygolite dealer. They matched a price I had found online, without me even asking for any discount. I have since purchased a helmet from them, as well as taking a bike in for a tune-up. Wish that I had checked them out before getting a new road bike a short while ago, they are super easy to work with and always very helpful about answering questions. Ill probably be getting some Gatorskins from them soon. They are definitely going to be my go-to LBS. Awesome crew they have at Middletown Cycling & Fitness, keep up the great work!

Ive been a customer and fan of the folks at Middletown Cycling & Fitness for just over one year now. From my inital purchase of my bike through todays acquistion of a new rear tire and tube, the staff and owner have always provided me excellent service and cycling advice. The Giant bike they sold me last year has provided me with endless pleasure and almost flawless performance for over 3000 miles. Its one blemish, a broken spoke, was fixed on-the-spot with no hassle or questions asked. I can, and do, recommend Middletown Cycling & Fittness to anyone in market for a great bike at a very competitive price.

I am a analyst with a sales background so I went to three different places to purchase a bike. I led them to believe I knew nothing about bikes and was just starting off. This was not true I have ridden for a long time plus I do all my homework before I buy anything. The only place that did not mislead me in anyway was Middletown. They went by what kind of riding I wanted to do and my size. That is what is important! Not only did I ride off with a great deal but was compelled to write this review. Customer service and honesty is a dying era and would like to thank you for maintaining your integrity!

Middletown cycling is run the way that ALL businesses should be run,a friendly, helpful honest staff, great prices and top notch bikes. My wife just got a new Giant bike and the staff, including Ross, Richard and Nick, treated us like family, I really cant tell enough good things about the staff. We previously purchased a bike from Schellers,they were OK, but after doing business with Middletown cycles, I will never go elsewhere for a bike or service. Horrible experience. Would certainly not recommend this shop. Told them my budget was $1000, max and the first bike they showed me was well over $1500. One of the guys, who acted like the owner was more interested in hitting on a female customer than trying to sell me a bike within my budget. Was told several times that if I didnt spend more money I would trash the bike because I was too heavy. Wow, never in my life have I had a salesman try to up-sell because of my weight. Wound up getting a Trek X-Cal, love it and the Trek dealer is awesome!

I was wanting to change from my old 26" mountain bike to a new 29" bike. I had looked all over town, and on the web doing my research. When I walked into Middletown Cycle and talked to Ross & Richard I knew I was at the right bike shop! They helped me pick the best bike for me. It was the right size, & style to help me make that step to the next level of Mountain Biking! Very knowledgeable group of people. Great service, & Great bikes! I love my New Giant XTC 29er!
