I first met John Roche in his Winchester location on a day when I was in that community for other business. After spending just a few minutes with him, it was easy to see his vast knowledge is the optical field and his total commitment to customer satisfaction. Upon returning home that evening I mentioned my encounter with John to my wife and we agreed that we were both ready for a change, having worked with a local but far higher volume optical shop. We visited his Lexington store that weekend and met with John and his son Francis, who oversees the Lexington location. We saw many great options for new eyeglasses and even got a solid recommendation from John for an established ophthalmologist for eye exams. A couple of Saturdays later we returned with our new prescriptions and chose some distinctive new eyewear. We both received our new glasses last week and are extremely happy with the frames, lenses, fitting and overall service from John, Francis and the entire Roche team. Were so happy to have found the RIGHT opticians for us! UPDATE: About a week ago I detected an issue with my new eyeglass frame and stopped by; Francis called later that day to ask me to bring them by to examine the issue and identify a solution. Received a call today to say that "your glasses are in" and was stunned to find that Francis had obtained an entirely new replacement frame to resolve the problem. What great service!

Im so grateful for the personal service and great selection at John G. Roche. I checked a few places before buying my glasses here, and I have to say that John G. Roche has by far the best selection of frames in town. If you are looking for excellent clean design, please stop in their store. The atmosphere is modern and airy, and the staff is very helpful, yet not pushy at all. I adore Oliver Peoples and they are the only shop in town to carry them. After trying on a few pairs, they picked out a pair for me that I knew were the ones as soon as I put them on. The funny thing is, I hadnt noticed them before they picked them out for me. The color blue is amazing with my eyes and coloring, and they were able to identify a style and size that fit me perfectly. Also, the lenses they had cut for my frames are super thin, the thinnest and lightest weight I have ever owned. I love them, and I can see much better than my old glasses! After years of trying to be a "glasses person," I think I finally may have made it!

What a great experience. After 20 years of contact lens wearing, it was recommended that I get back on glasses for awhile, and my normal opticians didnt have any glasses that I REALLY liked, so they recommended that I try John G. Roche because he had the best styles of glasses. He sure did. Even though he seemed to have maybe half the selection of my optician, the glasses were so much better there; way more intriguing and personal. Very cool ambiance, also. John has finesse and experience that really made this a treat instead of a chore, and my awesome glasses arrived on schedule with a confirmation call to let me know to come get them. To describe my experience as flawless seems understated, somehow, but it was. It was perfect. Much thanks.

I cannot say enough about the staff, selection and service at John G. Roche Opticians. Everything about the store is one-of-a-kind. Customer service like no other; and eyeglasses that you wont see anywhere else . . . and I promise you; you WILL get noticed. I now have three pairs of Alain Mikli glasses, and get stopped on a regular basis asking where I purchased them. I put my full trust in Francis, Jessica and John . . . They have a knack for picking out the right frames for my face and style. They are patient, ever so helpful and always entertaining :) They are a true gem in the heart of Lexington. If you havent been there, youre missing out!!!

John and Francis have done it again! I picked up my new l.a. Eyeworks frames today and they are amazing. The frames have a striking texture, minimalist design and are a very unique blue. They have a composite feel and are remarkably light and comfortable. I knew Id like my frames (John G. Roche has the best selection of designer frames in KY), but I was blown away by the digitally cut lenses. My vision in these glasses has never been clearer. Itll be tough going back to my older glasses. Great job John and Francis!!

Their selection of sunglasses is also wonderful, especially if youre looking for a high end pair. They have tons of frames for all face shapes and styles. As long as Im near Lexington, Ill be going back. Im really pleased with the service I received and feel like the team here is extremely professional and focused on customer satisfaction and retention. Not to mention that the turnaround time on my rimless glasses was significantly less than what Ive experienced with other shops.

Amazing service! Best selection of glasses in Lexington! I have a petite face, and have trouble finding frames to fit, John had several that fit me! He has done lenses for me a couple times, and does the best job hands down. I wear glasses everyday (no cantacts) so its great to have a nice, high end selection to choose from!
