I have bought two used cars before at other dealerships. The impression I get from most of these types of used car dealerships is that they dont want to be seen as typical "used car lots", with salesmen that will say anything to get you to buy if they think you are none the wiser. The cars I looked at here were mostly 50/50 at best and the ones i could tell were actually in good shape were priced more than accordingly. The one thing that most sticks in my mind is when I had chosen a car I had actually really liked, looked up every ounce of information I could find on it, including: the kbb retail value, kbb trade in value, average sale price at dealer auction, and even had an old dealership friend give me the numbers hed charge for the car. Not surprisingly, all of these numbers were strikingly similar. Walking in to the dealership with this info, I wanted to hear what the salesman had to say, and take the car for a quick spin. As I introduced myself, I talked up the car a little bit and made small talk while they copied my license, and to my surprise the salesman offhandedly said "we recently checked and had this car valued at $-------". $-------- was over three times the highest dollar figure I had come across, and a third over what they had the car priced at. I took the car for a short drive thinking that with my knowledge of the car they would surely come down on the price and while driving actually really enjoyed the car. Thats where the enjoyment ended for me. After the drive, I asked them about how they came up with the price of the car, and let them know exactly how much I knew about it and if the price was negotiable. You have never seen hackles raise as quickly as this mans when I said that. It was almost as if he was affronted by my catching of him in a $------- lie. Needless to say the conversation ended rather quickly. Even though I lost out on the car, its still amusing to see someone try to explain their way out of a comment they never thought through in the first place. So, to all of my fellow prospective buyers, remember: look for the right car for you at the right price (dont stretch yourself), dont hurry in fear of losing out on the car (there will always be more), DO YOUR RESEARCH (you will know more about the car than most salesmen that havent done anything more than just looked at the car sitting in the lot, and this will protect you from the magnificent claims some of these guys make), and never settle for a deal youre not completely comfortable with. Sorry for the rant, good luck on your search!

Well they sold me a car that they said is a good car. Ive had the car 3 weeks and the transmission is shot. Havent even put 3000 miles on it yet. I called them and all he could say is your 1000 miles are up on car. Could I bought the extend warranty. Yeah I could have. But I was told this is a good reliable car. So I said you dont stand behind the cars you buy. He said yeah we do. He has 3 reliable mechanic he says that are great. And that they inspected every each of it. Well guess there not that good. The tranny fluid was burnt bad. So any good mechanic would if noticed that. So when I asked them to help fix it he said if you can get it to me I will have my mechanics check it out. Well the same three that didnt notice that tranny was going out. Not to mention the 300 miles away I am. I travel for a living. So he wanted me to bring it to him 300 miles away so his mechanic could check it out. I took the car to certified transmission. Thats all they do all day every day. Seen everything possible to all kinds of cars said its fried. Well the dealer were I bought said you guy dont know what your talking about. Transmission place says well he sold you a crap car that you had 3 weeks and broke down and they wont stand behind your car they sold you and help with cost. Knowing your 300 miles away. His job is selling cause not working on transmission. Id take that guys advise. So if your thinking about buy a car from all star auto in kansascity then Id think twice if your not looking for a project. They buy car from auction dirt cheap and turn around and put them on the lot and sell them quick. Im sure Im not they only one thats had problems. So I will have to fix the 2005 Volvo that I bought off them. Cost is 4000 for a new trany and a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. So they stand behind there product and service with a pretty good warranty. I will not recommend All star auto to anybody.

Last week we purchased our teenage sons "first car" from All Star Auto, a 2006 Honda Accord. We couldnt be happier! After visiting their website, we went to their dealership to test drive three cars wed seen online. We were surprised to learn that there were several MORE great cars in our price range, some of which were not yet listed online. We ended up with the Accord, since it was very mechanically sound, and in great shape. (We also love Hondas & have a long history of owning them.) Our salesperson, Sean, was very helpful & honest. He also preferred the Honda and gave us a great deal! Everyone at All Star was friendly, courteous and professional. The entire process, from test driving to purchasing, was smooth and easy. We highly recommend All Star Auto to anyone looking for a safe, reliable used car - especially for a new teen driver!

I was looking on Auto Trader to replace my older car, and found the make and model I wanted. All Star Auto had the car I wanted and I thought the price was reasonable. I called them and when the car came out of detail, they called me back and I went and saw it, test drove it, and bought it on the spot. A few days later, I contacted them about a mechanical issue, and ended up taking the car to them and leaving it with them for two days. I wasnt happy about having an issue so soon, but since it was a used car, had figured I might have to have repairs done after I purchased it. When I came back to get the car, I asked how much I owed and was told, "No charge. We should have caught this." I was impressed by their fairness, their honesty, and their integrity throughout the whole process. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was NOT Looking to buy a car, drove by, saw my dream SUV, after test driving and just to MAKE SURE it was still my dream SUV, I drove a few more, Steve was AMAZING, never pressured me and as a woman , I was worried I would feel pressure. Well after driving about 6 different SUVs, I DID NOT end up buying my , what I thought Dream SUV, I got something different! BUT I am SO happy with what I never knew I wanted!! I got another Ford Explorer, (already have 1). The process was so easy, quick and I drove it home the same night! I could not be more excited, then to make the process even more NO PRESSURE, the person who does all the paper work, JESSICA!! AMAZING, friendly, QUICK. Would send anyone I know here for a car to fit any needs or wants!!
