Totally harassed by employee to buy the "discount card". After declining to buy the discount card, the cashier went on to tell me about the "benefits" of the membership. Again I declined. She continued to tell me more about the card. I told her I had the membership in the past, understood what it was, and NO I did not want to renew it. She once again gave me the list of benefits. Again declined -- still very politely. At the end of the transaction, she told me the awards and savings I would receive if I signed up right then. I again said no thank you. Her response: "Really?! Even after all of that savings and you still do not want the membership?" I dont need to be harassed and judged about how I choose to spend my money. I will not be spending another penny at BAM. To make matters worse, two weeks later, I received an email that my membership was automatically renewed! $25 was charged to my credit card without my authorization. What a scam - just like the magazine scam they pull. River Lights Bookstore all the way. Even if they dont have what you want in stock -- theyll order if for you and youll have it within days. Support local!!!!

I have spent a lot of money at this place but they just lost my business. I purchased the 12 month set of stickers for when my son was born back in November and I misplaced the box. I purchased a second set and kept the receipt. When I found the original packaging, I no longer needed them. I tried to exchange them in-store, I would have spent MORE MONEY. They said I needed a receipt. Upon driving the 30+ miles back to my home and looking for the receipt, which I eventually found, by the time I got actually back into the store I was past the allotted time for an exchange. I have worked in retail for years. It is asinine to think that their "system" cannot recognize the SKU of a product to just be exchanged. And yes, I would have spent more money. There is an item I would have liked to purchase but I will go elsewhere. And, as having been a manager myself, there are always workarounds. It is unfortunate that this store cannot employ someone to come up with a resolution. Its called customer service!

You only have 2 weeks to make a return. That makes it hard to buy a gift for anyone in advance. They make no exceptions, even if the person received two of the same items. I think 2 weeks for a return is unreasonable.

Staff is friendly and helpful, selection is pretty large (especially if youre looking for a recently released book) but if its not a current top 20 book they probably only have 1 copy saved on their shelves.

Best place for quality books and awesome staff. They work hard to make sure everyone is taken care of and the Book A Million discount card is what helps get the better savings and get the best deal.

Coffee is hit and miss, but the fixed drinks are decent. The internet here is an absolute joke, slower than dial-up. Most of the staff here is friendly, but the best members have all left.
