CAUTION: the trade-in policy here is deceptive. When they say you earn "store credit" for books you bring in this does NOT mean what it means anywhere else Ive been. You spend your "store credit" by getting 50% off each book you purchase. If you have 25 dollars in "store credit" you have to spend at least 25 dollars to use that credit. EDIT: So I can reply to the reply. >We, in no way deceive anyone. What you offer is a "store discount" but you call it a "store credit." >We sell books at 50% of the publishers price, customers get 25% of publisher price in store credit when we are able to take their books. We are talking about your used book store, not a retail store. The only percentage relevant here is the percentage of *your* sticker price. A used car sales person doesnt tell you that you are paying just 25% of the MSRP expecting that you should be impressed... well maybe a smarmy one does. >Its really quite simple Justin, 25% of the book price comes from you and 25% comes from your credit. It is quite simple once you understand that it is a "store discount" and not a "store credit." Thanks for the condescension, though.

After living overseas, Ive learned to love used-book stores to find books beyond the mass produced best sellers that find their way to stores in different countries. The Book Rack was able to bring back that nostalgia for me along with the chance to find a copy of a book for a fair price. The women who were working there were just ecstatic to help me find books from some of the classic authors that I was look for. If you are ready to talk books, the people at The Book Rack are going to become your new best friend. As for the trade in policy, no matter how much trade in credit you have, you have to pay for at least half the price of the book that you are going to purchase. Businesses have to keep the lights on.

I was going to come here because my wife always is looking for new books to read, she is so excited Webb she goes book shopping. After she had read the rating about getting screw when trading in her books. She decided not to come. Pams books give her great money for her books she trades in. And my wife said that any store owner that appreciates costumers would never argue with a customer. Never tell a customer you disagree there are ways to go around harsh words. Poor management.

The Book Rack is the best kept secret in St. Louis!! Great selection of like new books...I always find something new and interesting to read. The staff is super helpful and makes great suggestions. And BONUS I can always find the perfect gift here. Love it!!

Very comfortable store, however the books are not good quality and they only allow you to use half of the credit you earn from trade ins. So although I earned $25 for the books I traded in, I still had to pay $18 for 4 books.

Was not greeted when walking in or when waiting to check out. Childrens books are overpriced. But the girl was nice. Just too much for childrens books.

Actually cheap and great, unusually large and granular selection of rare books. A unicorn in fact.
