Such a charming indie bookshop. Impressive selection, as well. Was pleasantly surprised to find such high-quality literary fiction and nonfiction, even a few titles I hadnt heard of, though Ive been a professional reviewer more than a dozen years. Didnt think a lot of books made it past me, but apparently so! FYI, the cool little indie coffee shop across the street gives a 10% discount if you show them your receipt from River Lights. I grabbed a great mocha latte there after I bought a few books.

We absolutely loved this place! Its such a sweet little store, and a great combination of classic dark wood shelves and seating and new books and bright decor. They also had a great variety of books, especially for a small place. My Mr. grabbed some Frank Lloyd Wright bookmarks, and I got a book on food. The employees were helpful but not intrusive, and if you make a purchase, show your receipt across the street at Jitterz for 10% off!

River Lights is everything a local bookshop should be, from the incredibly friendly and helpful staff to the shop kitty lazing in the window to the regular book readings and community events. And two decent coffee shops (Jitterz and The Naughty Dog) and a great local bistro (L May) within half a block of this north Main St. landmark.

I emailed them a week ago from the address on their website and they dont answer customer emails requesting information about book availability. Barnes and Noble got back to me and Ive purchased my book from them.
