To be a good Best Buy employee you have to be willing to lie in order to make a sale, right? I cannot tell you how many times I caught these guys in a lie. Ask them about computers, they fabricate something, ask them about televisions and they will convince you the pricier ones are the best or even ask them something as simple as where are your restrooms and they scratch their heads. I dont know who hires for this location but he or she has to be a major self deprecation issues to want to surround themselves by employees that are so poorly trained and inadequate. Is confusing the unknowing into buying something they dont need your selling strategy? Heres a secret everyone, Amazon or eBay gets you everything at half the price and no hassle. Id rather wait a few days for an HDMI cable than make a trip to this store.

Nice variety but piss poor employees. They seem to be more interested in talking and being on their phones than actually helping someone. All customers including myself all had to go to an employee and ask for help. I asked where the tablets were and the guy said we have some here and over here and at the front of the store. He just pointed and went back to talking. Just as I saw the manager do as well. This must be how Best Buy trains their employees at this location. I have never seen customer service like this when I shop at the two stores in Madison Wisconsin. I just happened to be in Dubuque and thought I would get one here but decided now to wait until I am up there. They lost about a 400 to 500 dollar sale. Never coming back to this location again. Very disappointing.

Absolutely crappy service, purchased all new appliances which was a chore just to get someone to wait on you, then after the purchase cant get any help when there is a problem, " just call 888-best-buy" they said. So you can waste your day on hold and get no resolve. Agents at the store make no effort to help you, just want to pass you off to someone else. Take notice, buy elsewhere. Big Box=No Service. When you hire minimum wage employees you get minimum results Best Buy. Managers shouldnt have too look real hard as to why numbers are bad and stores are closing. Dubuque Best Buy if you want to grow you business....take care of your customers. I could have ordered these appliances online, save hundreds and had the same if not better service.

I went in trying to decide wether to buy a MacBook Pro or a Microsoft Surface Book. Connor G. that works there, not only helped me decide on what best fit my needs, but took the time explaining all the ins and outs that I would use on a daily basis. To top it off he helped me secure an awesome price by comparing prices at other businesses. Normally I wouldnt write a review on a big business company, but it was the employee that stood out and really helped the customer get what they wanted without any pushy salesmans tactics. I would highly recommend the next time you go into Best Buy that you speak with Connor because he will help you out to the best of his ability.

I tried to set up an appointment to install a new car stereo since my old one is no good anymore. I left my phone number since they are booked up for the next two weeks and their system wont let them schedule any past that point. My dentist can schedule stuff an entire year ahead of time, but they cant schedule something in three weeks? Why cant they just pencil me in for the next available week day afternoon? So its been almost two weeks and they havent called back. Not sure I should trust them to install the stereo if they have trouble using a phone. I have no idea how anyone is getting anything worked on there if they cant actually schedule anyone...

Decent selection of stuff and decent sales. Staff has always been friendly. Probably one of the better places to go to for getting a new phone in town if youre uncomfortable with making the decision yourself as I have seen them working with a lot of people to set up their service. (Not me though, Im on Republic Wireless.) I do feel like the place could have been built bigger to have a better selection than what they currently have to push it up to a 5 star store.

We bought a computer from Best Buy and had the motherboard die three times in a year and a half. We did get the extended warranty, but the third time was after the warranty ended. We called to talk to a manager about it, and we have never been treated so horribly on the phone. The person we talked to was the rudest customer service rep I have ever encountered. We will not buy from Dubuque Best Buy ever again after the way we were treated.

My wife reserved a new Apple Smart Phone on August 20, 2013 before the store even opened. She was told, at that time, "were out of them. She has been back three times, the last visit being Sunday, September 29, 2013 inquiring about her phone. "We just sold the last one we had a little while ago" was the comment made to her inquiry! What good is the reservation slip she was given??? .

Not very happy with the sales staff for not disclosing the information on the 10% rebate rules of only being able to spend the rebate in $100 increments. Called national customer service and they did not speak fluent English so I called Bryce the customer service attendant at the Dubuque store. He was very pleasant and made up for a little frustration

I have a 2 month old LG Refrigerator purchased from Best Buy in Dubuque, IA. The freezer quit working and all Best Buy wants to do is sell a $299.00 Geek Squad appointment. This is supposed to be a top of the line refrigerator. I am going to purchase a 65" Smart Television this week and you can be sure it wont be from Best Buy.

Be careful of the GeekSquad team. My son brought his computer in to get repaired for a faulty display and they told him it would cost $200 to remove the viruses that were causing it. It was suspicious to me so we brought it back in to our BestBuy and we found out it was a bad panel control board and covered under warranty.

My family and I just moved to the area from California. We made the mistake of going to the Dubuque BestBuy to try and make a simple purchase. It was one of the worst retail experiences weve ever had the misfortune of experiencing. My advice is to avoid this store and spend your money someplace else, I know we will.

Twice in the last few months I have gone to Best Buy intending to do research and buy on line only to find that the staff is very well versed in the differences in the products in their area and being helped so well that I chose to buy in the store rather than on-line.

Will never go back store manager got stupid with me over a preorder they claimed I took the day I preordered makes sense right spent tens of thousands over the years but I wanted to scam them for fifty bucks fools just lost a customer
