Garbage. It all started with a simple email from Toys R Us offering me a $25 gift card to be used later if I purchase $100 now through Nov. 5th. I told my wife about it and we got a list together of things we planned on purchasing for our 7 year old son and other kids in the family for the upcoming holiday. Simple, seems easy enough. Yesterday I proceed to sit down and log into their website and fill up a shopping cart with all of the kid’s treasures. I go to checkout and I pull up my email with the initial offer to get the coupon code and that when I read “IN STORE PURCHASE ONLY”. Okay, my fault, I should have read closer but what store these days doesn’t prefer their customers to shop online. This should have been my tipoff that something was up. So I call my wife and tell her my dilemma and I agree that $25 was enough money to pass up on items that we were going to purchase anyways so I make my trek to the store which is about 30 minutes away from my house. I get to the store and I find ALL the items I was going to purchase online, it’s my lucky day I’m thinking!! However, as I’m picking the things up off the shelves, I’m noticing some price differences on a couple things compared to their online prices, $3 here…$5 there, nothing outrageous. I make my way up to the customer service (JOKE) and ask them if they price match. To my surprise the lady responds, “yes sir we do”. Well hot dog, I’m thinking and I get to work pulling the things out of my cart, about 7 items in all and then she starts hitting me with the bad news. 1. Store policy they will only price match up to (2) items, even if their prices on THEIR website are less they will only match (2) of them. 2. I had picked up a stuffed Minnie Mouse that was advertised for $19.99 but if you spend $50 or more, the price was then $4.99. It wasn’t on the original list but I figured for $5 bucks, why not? I was told by the lady that I could NOT price match my 2 items and get the promotional price for Minnie. Now keep in mind, my subtotal, even AFTER the price match was over $200. I asked her why was that and all she could repeat was “store policy”. I asked numerous times, “store policy or company policy?” and once again all I get is…”store policy”. 3. So after she breaks the bad news about poor Minnie, I ask “well I suppose your store policy isn’t going to allow me to use this coupon to get a $25 gift card if I spend $100 then?” …..you guessed it, I got the “store policy” again like a well trained robot. She then has the nerve to ask me which did I want to use, my options…Price match my maximum of (2) items and save $6 total; Get Minnie for $5 instead of $19.99 and save $14.99 on an impulse buy; or use the coupon and get a $25 gift card to use in the month of December. So I respond, “what would you do?” (which I honestly think insulted her). She repeated herself and told me it was my decision to make and “store policy” prohibits her from “helping” me make that choice. I finally gave up. I was defeated by the big stupid giraffe. I asked to “please charge me full price for the 2 nerf guns, and I’ll just have to leave Minnie behind. I’ll give you this coupon and I’ll take my $25 gift card to be used in December”. So that’s what she did and I was on my way, completely dissatisfied with the turn of events that just took place. I remember going to Toys R US as a kid and recalling the excitement when that door slides open and you step inside. I had that same feeling yesterday as an adult when I returned to buy Christmas gifts for my son. It’s a shame that he’ll not have those same memories because like most others, I will be giving my business to the Walmarts and Amazons of the world that are the reason that most Toys R Us are going out of business. RIP Geoffrey the Giaraffe, thanks for the memories.

Only bathroom in the store is unisex. Men & women freely coming in and out whenever. This is totally unacceptable!! I know some gas stations, etc only have one bathroom but at least they have a locking door. I was going to be spending well over $200 today but they lost a sale. If they get the bathroom situation changed I might consider shopping there again. Its your decision who you want to be bathroom buddies with and it should be my decision who I dont want to share with. I love all people but I also love my privacy.

It was an hour past nap time and my 2 year old and I were both starving. I had just loaded a giant train table in the car myself before realizing my receipt was wrong! Lenny was so helpful even after I snapped at him. I really appreciate great customer service and that is exactly what I got today!

The cashier was so rude not even a thank you for both of the purchases we made. He barely even spoke or acknowledged our existence! While I do understand they too want to go home because it was at closing time, he lacked professionalism and just plain decency. Not even to my child he said a word.

They have terrible customer service and everyone who works there is poorly trained. One of the employees told my son and I there was an 18% chance of the game he wanted being in stock. He wouldnt even open the case to look for it. We will be using up his gift card and never heading back there.

My kid loved the store. Great layout and easy price match. Other stores make you jump through hoops to get the price match, but it was super simple here. Just make sure to check prices. It was even cheaper on the toys r us site than in the store.

Not a bad Toys R Us- a lot of them are getting kind of run down, but this one is in good shape. As always, they have a bunch of stuff you cant find anywhere else. One complaint- checkout tends to be slow.

Took my girls to get journey girl dolls only to find out they are no longer carried in store because they cannot sell them and american girl dolls in the same physical location

My 2yr old son loves it. I think it could be a lot better. The ostrich says its a bear. The whale does not fit on the water slide. Not terrible but not perfect either.

It was ok, need some better deals. More promotions for the people that go in every week.

The largest selection of toys in one place, albeit with slightly cringe worthy prices.

Good, but was kind-of difficult to navigate. However the staff was friendly.

Lack of help from employees, ads on TV not available in the store.
