I called AMS Cars to ask about the price of an SUV that they had just put up for sale online. The person who answered was Roy. I told him that I was going to Chicago to buy the exact same SUV & that I had just seen this one come up online & before I drove all the way to Chicago I wanted to know the price of this one. He asked me how much they where wanting for the other one & I told him the price & the miles it had on it. He then said that he would get back with me on a price. He texted me the price that they could do for me & i thought it was a good deal, but he told me that it would be ready in one week & I said ok I can wait one week. We then kept communicating through emails. When the day that it was supposed to be ready was approaching he emailed me to let me know it would take another week & I said ok. I noticed that they had put a price online $1,435 more than what we agreed on, but I didnt think anything of it. Finally its ready & I received an email from him just minutes before I went to go see it & still to that point he hadnt mentioned anything about the price changing for me. We get there (my husband, cousin & I) & do a test drive. We get in the office & I told him that we where ready to start the paper work on the price we had agreed on & then he throws the bomb at me that they couldnt do that price because they had put $2,000 in it & that we had to pay the online price. I was shocked & mad & then he said, but lets look at the numbers & see what we can do for you. So then he asked under whos name is it going to be on & I said my cousins because he has PERFECT credit. I told him that I wanted to be in it too to help build up my credit & he said ok. He asked If we where gonna put any down payment & we said yes & when we told him the amount his eyes got big because he probably wasnt expecting that we where gonna put that much. Then when he told us the total & the payments we where gonna have to make it was just way toooo much. So we asked to see the numbers on the computer & how he was coming up with those numbers. When I saw the price that he had put it was $2,000 even more than the price that they had online. When I asked why he had done that he said because of the $2,000 that the had put in it, but at NO point did he tells us that he was gonna put in that amount & I thought well thats why he was gonna makes us pay the price that it was online (so that was a 1st Red Flag for us). Then he also said that it was because my credit wasnt good & I said I know thats why its gonna go under my cousins who has PERFECT credit & who has been able to get 2 cars on the same day under his name before (2nd Red Flag ). So I thought to myself hes said from the beginning that... #1. we have to pay the online price because of the $2,000 they put in it #2. now hes saying that its going up $2,000 from the ONLINE PRICE for the same reason #3. & now hes saying that its also because of my credit... MAKE UP YOUR MIND WHICH LAME EXCUSE IS IT!!!. So from the original price that we had agreed on it went up $3,435. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND this shady place to ANYONE!!! & if you do go to this shady place make sure to look at the actual numbers that they entered.

Initially the staff was very pleasant and relaxed, didnt feel like they were too crazy about having the sale, they let me test drive a BMW 330xi with manual transmission, and said that I can contact them if I am interested and if not, wished me good luck. I left the lot, called them shortly after to ask if I may take the car for a pre-purchase diagnostics test to make sure I am making a good decision with the car purchase, they said it was ok. The bmw mechanic at Ress Motor Works found a very big issue with the front driveshaft and said it need to be replaced by the dealer immediately. He asked me to tell the dealer to call him so he can tell them that but for some reason all the sales people were gone, only a lady that answers the phone was there. I took the car back and told them I was interested but I believe that they should replace that part as the mechanic would charge about $1k for the part that was broken. The lady said that she took the message for the sales manager and will call me the next day. The did not call so I call them instead. I talked to a guy on the phone and he said that they looked at it and found nothing, with no intent of trying to convince the potential buyer or anything. In my eyes, this was very shady on their part and I will not be recommending AMS Cars to anyone. I dont understand why this dealer would go over a certified BMW mechanic who specializes in e90 BMWs (which is what this one was) and works on them on a daily basis and even go as far as to say that the mentioned front driveshaft that was in critical condition was in fact perfectly fine. Not a good look, if you ask me. I just hope the next person who test drives/buys this car doesnt end up stranded somewhere because of the dealers negligence.

I recently bought a 2013 Honda Accord from AMS cars. Although it was my first purchase from AMS, it was 3 years in the making. I visited the AMS website from time to time and stopped by the dealership if a particular car caught my attention. I never felt pressured and finally made my purchase for the following reasons: • Service - The AMS staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They know their inventory in detail and were able to answer specific questions about their cars (owners, place of origin etc..) I test drove several cars before making my purchase and the staff went out of their way to make each experience pleasurable. • Selection - AMS has a great inventory of quality cars. I was able to experience cars from Audi, BMW, Mercedes just to name a few. They also carry a full model line so I was able to check out SUVs as well as passenger cars. They also seem to have the Cool cars from manufacturers as well as classics. • Value - Since the AMS inventory is composed of high quality used cars I saved thousands on the depreciation of a new car purchase. All of the AMS I drove had CARFAX reports so I knew what I was getting. All of the cars were also fairly priced (within KBB value) . I highly recommend the folks at AMS. What a great place to buy a car! Clyde Ross Indianapolis ...

!!!WARNING!!! Please do not fall victim to this used car lot like I did. I recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler from this lot only to have it undrivable in little less than a week. I called and was transferred to the service department which proceed to discuss the details (Year, Make, Model, Transmission type *Manual*, And what the Jeep what not doing). After telling the service department that the Jeep would no longer go into gear, they seemed to think that it was most likely STUCK IN PARK. So as no manual transmission has a park, I took it to the Jeep dealer for repair. Needless to say that $2,100 + dollars later I am able to drive the Jeep again. Of course the 90 day warranty offered with these autos is built to almost cover nothing. Also after discussion with the Jeep dealer, the master mechanic informed me that this issue was not just something that had just popped up and the dealer would have known about it. He even suggested that the dealer who sold it this way should be responsible. After many attempts at some sort of compensation for the added expense I was only turned down. May this serve as a warning to you. Please save yourself the headache and shop at a more reputable dealer.
