Bought a bearded dragon about a month or so ago from here, seemed fine but had trouble getting him to eat. Decided to get another bearded dragon from here about 2 weeks ago. Both of them now dead. The first one i got had become lathargic shortly after introducing the new one to the tank and eventually died after a day of slow breathing and no movement. The other one died the same way 2 days later, woke up to having its eyes eaten by crickets. I took necessary care of them regularly. I spent hundreds of dollars on tanks, food, substrate, tank decor, lighting, whatever was needed to keep them healthy and now its all gone to waste. When i bought them they were in extremely small, crowded tanks packed in with 6 to 8 beaded dragons of various sizes. I assume the price of reptiles and other animals are half the price of their competitors because management knows theyre selling sick and/or malnourished animals, petsmarts everywhere are notorious for doing so. Obviously the one here in evansville is no different. I highly suggest you take your business to harps or pet food center if you want to give your money to people you know are going to take care of their animals. By the way, this is the same petsmart that let the dogs from the groomers leave with their ears and other parts of the body bleeding from excessive shaving. This place is trash.

Purchased a guinea pig and all of the necessities. Shorty after two weeks of ownership, I came home from work to discover my guinea pig, Gustavus, had lost the function of his hind legs - I did what I could at the time, thinking he may have a vitamin c deficiency. When I came home from work the next day, Gustavus was in extreme pain (Couldnt move his body at all, screaming in pain, looking very distressed) I rushed him to Petsmart to get vet attention. They purchased him back from me, with the intention of selling him back to me if he got better, I was told I would be contacted with updates on Gustavus. I had to call Petsmart and extract the information myself, no one reached out to me - They had to Euthanize him, which seeing how much pain he was in, is understandable - But no one knows why he was paralyzed and the female manager I have mainly worked with throughout this process has been very unsympathetic and I get the feeling that to her I am "pesky" - Among all of that, they gave me a "merchandise" card for compensating Gustavus - Now I have a surplus of guinea pig food, hay, a cage, a Pigloo, a 40 dollar "merchandise" card, and twisting stabbing feeling of loss in my heart.

They have a great selection of stuff for just about any pet most people would have, but you need to know what youre looking for because they do have bad items there. Also if you need pet advice, ask for it somewhere else. The fish are usually in good condition. I have a friend who is big on aquatics and he is always very satisfied with their fish compared to Pet Food Center and Harps. If youre looking for small pets go to Pet Food Center, they take much better care of their small pets. Just dont use their grooming services, your dog is very likely to get cut. Ive taken my dog there once when our regular groomer had to do repairs to their building. My dog has never given groomers any problems yet the groomer managed to give her several cuts here. Thankfully they were minor, but still she should never get cut at the groomer and I will never take her back to Petsmart for grooming. Ive also seen a groomer let a little dog jump off the table with the lead around its neck because she was turned around talking to someone instead of paying attention to the dog.

The PetSmart in Evansville has a nice warehouse feeling to it, making it a decent pet food/supply store. Their animal supply prices are reasonable, but the prices of their fish and small animals are more expensive than other stores in Evansville; the quality and health of the animals also seems to be sub-par as well. The staff is courteous and welcoming, but they are not knowledgeable at all when it comes to their product inventory and animals. This store is an okay place to stop at if you live on the east side of Evansville, are in a rush, and in need to get a bag of dog food, but a terrible place to go to shop for live animals and receive information/advice regarding said pets...I would definitely go to a specialty pet store instead of a pet food/supply store to purchase a live animal. PetSmart also has a grooming center, but I have yet to take my dogs there, so I cannot comment on their grooming quality.

Awesome pet store. I cant comment on complaints about where they acquire their stock of live pets as I have no idea. But as a retail store its really nice. There are plenty of employees to help. PetSmart has a nice on-site pet grooming salon and a small vet office. Their prices are fair, although I have no competitors prices to compare them too. As for pets they seem to carry cats, small animals such as hamsters/guinea pigs, fish, birds, and smaller reptiles. I do not recall seeing dogs except for some weekends when the humane society has adoption days. Those days are always popular. You are also welcomed to bring you pet along for shopping. Which I think is pretty cool.

While I try to shop local, I do spend a fair amount of money here. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, and I appreciate that they allow the local animal shelters and foster groups use their space for animal adoption events and host a variety of shelter cats in the cat room. Petsmart does not make any money on those adoptions (except that you then need what the sell to care for your new pet!). I hate having to use a petperks card to get the sale price - seems tome if you choose to shop at a business, they you should be rewarded with their best price, regardless if you join in to their rewards program.

We bought 2 parakeets on May 13. The guy never told us anything about the birds. The blue bird died 5 days so we exchange it. This guy was very nice and telling and some important info. 3 days later the green bird died. I called and talked to manager at petsmart. He was very rude with me he was accusing me of purposely killing these bird and refuse to exchange the birds that passed away. He told me that I was not allowed to get any more til I figure out what Im doing wrong and they only had 1 bird die in the 6 months in their care. I spent over $200 in cage and toys and they wouldnt help me on a bird..

My mom took her dog to the Evansville pets mart to get groomed..... Well let me tell u something after hours of them bathing and grooming my mom finally went and got her picked up and when she got home she noticed a deep cut in her so she called and made an appointment with the vet and the vet said that is was a cut from a clipper.... They need to find out who doing it because this is not the first complant Ive heard its happen to other people to.. They really need to supervise the people that groom the dogs.... I DO NOT RECOMEND TAKING YOUR DOG TO GET GROOMED THERE... EVER!!!!
