If I could give less than 1 star I would. We bought: a twin sofa sleeper, 2 tables w/drawer supposedly "hand painted", and a sofa and chair - special ordered fabric. So - NOT SMALL MONEY. It took twice as long to get the sofa and chair because of the special order fabric. One date, then another, then another. Right away we noticed "fuzz" all over. LSS - it just got worse. As we both have asthma - I called less than 7 days of receipt of furniture. I said I wanted to know how to return this ... and was accused of being "demanding". I was treated SO RUDELY! I was finally called AND THEY ADMITTED THE MANUFACTURER SAID TO FABRIC WAS DEFECTIVE!!! So, since that was the ONLY fabric we liked, I thought we would have no problem getting our money. When I asked about this, I was told we had to do an exchange A date had been set for them to pick up this furniture (sofa and chair.) This fabric fuzz was causing extreme problems for both of us... getting in our eyes, noses... it was awful. I spoke to the Manager, ended up speaking to Mr. Godby Jr. - both hateful, rude and mean. I was in tears. I was told that we HAD TO PICK SOMETHING ELSE OUT... NO MONEY REFUND. I refused, we had spent a very long time already and new that was the only thing we liked. THEY CANCELED THE PICK UP OF THE FURNITURE UNTIL I WENT INTO THE STORE AND SIGNED A PAPER THAT LET THEM KEEP 25% FOR "RESTOCKING"! Because, Mr. Godby said, "We have to ship this back and that costs us." I didnt believe that - right away the manufacturer said "Its defective". Mr. Godby also told me that he, "My dad and I only made $30 on this deal... " When he called me from his corvette.... (Note - their invoice stated within 7 days...and NOTHING ABOUT A RESTOCKING FEE OR HAVING TO DO AN EXCHANGE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE ITEMS OR EVEN A RESTOCKING FEE FOR AN ITEM RETURNED WITHING 7 DAYS.) We had NO CHOICE - THIS WAS MAKING US SICK. and... the Sleeper Sofa broke after one time of my grandson sleeping on it. The entire mechanism had to be replaced - this happened during the time we were waiting... It is broken again - did I call back NO! The "Hand Painted" table/w drawers... one of those had a stuck drawer... they brought out another one, AND it had a stuck drawer... (FYI - the people who did delivery and pick up and repair were the ONLY NICE PEOPLE.) The guy suggested we just "swap" a drawer... I was so upset I did and then noticed that the "hand painted design" ALMOST lined up perfectly... but didnt... (STENCIL???) after the "battle" over the return... I just couldnt deal with them anymore. I SUGGEST YOU RUN AWAY FROM THIS STORE. ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY... IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT THE PAPERWORK SAYS - WHAT A MANUFACTURER SAYS... 2FBFU. I do wonder what DID happen to the defective stuff. There was an entire area of "Clearance - All Sales Final..." Just making me go HMMMM...

My husband & I purchased 2 leather sofas from the Avon location on May 29, 2011. We were told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. The sofas were finally delivered 12 weeks later on August 20, 2011. Upon delivery, both sofas had damage to the leather, broken feet, peeling color, and unfinished threads. We were told we must accept them (new sofas were not an option) and that the service department would take care of the repairs. The service department rep visited our home to inspect the sofas on August 23, 2001. He stated that it would take 6-8 weeks to get the parts. After no communication from Godby, I contacted them on November 4, 2011. The Service Dept followed up with me and said somehow our parts had not been ordered and they were finally ordered on November 3. So, 11 weeks after the initial inspection, the parts arrived. The Service Dept picked up the first sofa for repairs on Monday, November 28 and then called on Friday, December 2 to tell me they did not have the right parts to complete our repair. I was told it will be another 6-8 weeks to get the correct material. At this point, I requested 2 new sofas or my money back in full. Two brand new sofas finally arrived on February 11, 2012. They arrived in new condition with no damages, just as they should have 6 months earlier. Every step of this process was delayed and the response from Godby was the same each time they messed up..."sorry, things happen, theres nothing we can do, keep waiting". The only concession made was from the manufacturer. ($150 refund) Godby refused to make any concessions for our inconvenience. We requested free shipping, and were told no. We requested a discount, and were told no. As soon as Godby received our payment in full, we were left out to dry and customer service was a nightmare. The bottom line...it took 9 months and much of our time and energy to get what we had paid for and what should have been delivered in the first place. We will never shop at Godby again and encourage others to take their business elsewhere, too. Any perceived savings is not worth the headache it will cause in the end.

Awesome furniture store with fair prices. Dave was very helpful. He knocked 10% off the price. I purchased a LA-Z Boy Hayes dual reclining sofa 2 months ago and am highly satisfied. They sold me a 10yr fabric warranty but that covers any spills or tears to the fabric for 10yr so I think it is highly worth it for $100 especially considering that was the amount that was discounted on it. They sent me a nice thank you note for doing business with them. I would use them in future as well.

If you are looking for comfortable furniture, fair prices, and someone who can lead you to the perfect fit for your family, then Godby is where you should go. We dealt with Jared, who truly is an expert on furniture, from how its made, to how it will feel, to up keep, and even how long it will last your family. The selection is unbelievable! It is a little more than the cheaper stores, but well worth it if you are looking for comfort, service, and an overall pleasurable experience.

Bought a leather recliner at Avon Godby and within a few months the color began to wear off. I made the mistake of not reporting it until the one year date of purchase had passed, or at least that is what was given as an excuse. Tried for months to get help from both Godby and Flexsteel with no results in repairing or replacing the recliner. I will never buy anything at Godby or anything made by Flexsteel.

I went in with my wife, 5th grade daughter and several thousand in cash to buy some furniture. I spoke with Jared and was shocked to be treated so poorly. He was arogant and rude. Maybe he should look for another line of work. We went to Ashley and bought the same stuff for way less money. I bought our dining room furniture from Godby in the past, but Ill never do business with them again. Zero stars

Great customer service without high pressure sales people. Byron and his sales staff were very helpful and went out their way to find out what we needed and then presented us with several choices.
