Cant I give them no stars? Really. Im serious! Absolutely horrible experience almost all around! The only thing that went smoothly was the sale (Of course that would go smoothly, right?). My entire bedroom furniture set, every single piece, had defects. Three out of four chairs to the dining set I also purchased at the same time had defects as well. I had all of the bedroom furniture pieces replaced four times before finely returning the whole bedroom set for good and going elsewhere. The WHOLE bedroom set! The WHOLE bedroom set! Between the three out of four dining chairs, I probably had them replaced three times amongst all of them. I ended up returning the whole dining set as well because I couldnt get chairs that werent damaged. The WHOLE dining set! The WHOLE dining set! It was too bad too because I loved the dining table, and nothing was wrong with it, but I couldnt find chairs elsewhere to match it. The main customer service line (based in the Chicagoland area) offers nothing but empty promises when you contact them (to inspect the furniture before sending it out, to send my complaint up the management chain and contact me regarding it, etc.). They sure sound good and sound concerned about the issues you are having with their company though, and they are extremely friendly. But dont let them fool you, its all a facade. There is no follow-up, or any real movement for that matter, on their end aside from sweet talking to their customers on the phone. The delivery service is horrible as well. From not calling before coming (like was said that would be done, standard for every customer), to not calling when not coming within the stated time frame, to coming on the wrong day, to one of the delivery men reeking of smoke so bad that my whole house smelled for quite a while after they left, to coming to remove my bedroom furniture at 11:45 PM on a Saturday night! Im not kidding. Im really not. And then to get all of your money credited back to your credit card...this proves to be rocket science to them and they have not proven success in this arena either. This has to be handled by the local store, and Ive called a few times recently to get the remaining amount of my refund due to me credited, and I have left messages for the individual responsible for completing this, and guess what. You got it...I have not gotten a return phone call. Almost 1 year later and I am still short an almost $200 refund. I am persisting in achieving this because this was my hard earned money that I stupidly spent at this store. And do you think Ive received one, "Im sorry for _______(insert incident here)?" Nope. Do you think Ive received any sort of compensation for MY inconvenience? Nope. No common courtesy. So, I would never recommend this furniture store to anyone. Anyone. Maybe an enemy. I will say though, that in my personal opinion, they have some very nice styles of furniture, but thats as far as it goes. But seriously, take your money elsewhere, unless of course you want pure hell associated with an occasion that is supposed to be happy and rewarding. You will unknowledgeably be thanking me for recommending that you go elsewhere. With this type of service, and the very poor quality of their furniture, I imagine this company to be out of business within the next couple of years. And if not the whole company, at least the Plainfield, Indiana store. Just look at the reviews for them on here.

If there is anything like 0 stars or -5 stars, I would give them. July 16- I ordered a complete dinning set and couch I was informed that the dinning set was available but the couch wont be delivered until August 6! I requested for the items to be delivered same time to avoid extra delivery charges of $199.99/delivery I was called a week after to inform me that the dinning set wont be available until the end of August. I said no problem I got another call August 3 stating that the dining table wont be available until September 20 and they would deliver the chairs. Outrageous! I told the sales person immediately that I would love to cancel the dining set. I dont see any reason why I should wait that long and be played with. He informed me that he would call me back, NO CALL TILL TODAY! I walked into the store to have the dining set cancelled, and was informed ill get a call that day, NO CALL TILL TODAY. The day of delivery came, I waited and waited and cut off my schedules for the day. I missed a call from an IL number, called back immediately and it took appr. 1hour for someone to pick up. Eventually, I was informed that the delivery guy came but met no one! REALLY!! I have 4 family members at home and no one heard. No call on my husbands phone? I was then told that they would give me back a call to have it delivered. NO CALL AGAIN! I had to call the plainfield location where I made the purchase and was informed that the driver had completed his route! Ill need to choose another date to be delivered. This is my first time writing such review. I regret walking into the room place and im sincerely unhappy and disappointed as my family awaited the long arrival of the couch to no avail. If you dont want to frustrate your whole life, STAY AWAY!

I bought an electric recliner there on August 27. I was told I could pick it up the following Friday. I called before going to the store and was told it was ready for pickup. When I got to the store it wasnt there. It was another week before it would arrive. I was upset and they gave me a 10% discount to go ahead with the order. I picked the chair up on Sept 11, although they acted like I was a problem customer, then I went out of town for a week, meaning I didnt use the chair at all. Once I returned home the chair stopped working 2 weeks later. They sent a service tech out a week after my call and he found the problem and ordered parts. I was told it would be in in about 4 weeks. I even got a confirmation call that they had ordered the part. I called sometime in Oct. and was told the part would be in on Nov. 22. On Dec 14th I called again and was told the part would be delivered on Dec 21. Today is Dec 22nd and I still dont have the part. On top of that, when the part arrives I still have to call the Room Place to set up an appointment with a tech to have the part installed. I will NEVER purchase anything from the RoomPlace again. Please stay away from there. Communication is terrible, service is slow and terrible and they lie to cover their mistakes. Worse place I have ever dealt with.

Four years ago I purchased a sofa and love seat from the Greenwood location, bought the extra 5 year warranty incase anything would ever happen to it. There are stains on it (which the warranty covers), so I went to make a claim to get new ones. They denied our claim. Now that we have purchased new furniture from them, they called to tell us that it would be delivered 09/15/15 between 9am and 11am. My husband works second shift, so he set his alarm for 8am to be up and ready for them to come during the scheduled time. I get to work at 7am, get a phone call from the Room Place delivery that our furniture will be delivered in the next 30 mins. I said, "Our scheduled time frame was between 9am and 11am." The man on the phone says, "I guess youre not able for delivery then?" I said, "No, we need our furniture, but I need to try and wake my husband up now since youre very early." He hangs up. This is very unprofessional and has been nothing but a stressful buy. I will never buy anything else from the Room Place ever again.
