Honestly you guys, its a car dealership. If you dont come in here prepared to play the game, you can take the bus. I was in the market for a brand new Rogue, and after driving all over and being lead on a wild goose chase by three other dealerships, I finally settled on a model listed on Nissans inventory and scheduled an appointment here. Colin took care of me throughout the process. He was friendly and considerate, and quite knowledgeable about the car. I was very specific about the features and color I wanted in the vehicle, and after having no luck finding what I wanted, I settled on a different color. Colin took the time to ask what I really wanted in the car, and having told him I was originally looking for white, he was able to find one in the lot for me. Guess it was just luck that this dealership had exactly what I was looking for, but I appreciated him taking the time to check. Of course, there were sales games. I had to convince them to accept my trade-in, my interest rate right off the bat was outrageous, the price of the car kept going up as my interest rate went down... just some shady practices. Colin kept going back and forth between the "finance manager" in a little glass box behind me and "arguing on my behalf", I suppose. I didnt meet this guy until the deal was closed - I really would have preferred to speak directly with him, seeing as he was apparently the one making the decisions. Anyway, after you sign all the papers and shake all the hands, youre brought over to the accessories guy, Tony. Tony was my least favorite person in this place. While he was very knowledgeable, after speaking with him about window tint and remote start (quoted to me at $900), I declined the accessories. He appeared like he took it pretty personally. I told him I wasnt comfortable making a purchase without researching all of my options, to which he replied "Okay, I understand you wouldnt want to purchase something from someone you dont trust, and I dont know you and you dont know me, so thats fine." Sorry that Ive... hurt your feelings?? Next youre off to the finance office, staffed by Carrie (I think), who was also pleasant and helpful. Beware of the bimonthly payment feature they offer - for the service of billing you half your payment twice a month, they charge $399. Or, you could just pay twice a month yourself, and save yourself the convenience fee. When I declined this, Carrie called in some other guy to try and convince me to sign up. The hard sell put me off. Despite all of these sales-y tactics, Im pleased with my experience at this dealership. I felt comfortable and in control of the situation. Not to mention, they throw in lifetime free tires (provided that you get an annual alignment, which is regular maintenance anyway) and 3 years worth of oil changes. Cant beat that! Lastly, Colin took the time to show me some features of the car before I left the lot, including programming my home address into the nav system. As someone who had just driven 50 minutes to an unfamiliar location and was now leaving in an unfamiliar car, it was a nice touch. Thanks, Colin! Again, its a dealership. The salesman is going to try to get you to spend, the accessories guy is going to get you to spend, theyre going to play finance games with you, etc. As a consumer with the vastness of the internet at your fingertips, you have no reason to come here unprepared and get played. Do your research and know the fair price of the vehicle, keep a cool head in the finance seat, and youll be fine.

First let me mention that I am a big researcher on the internet and have plenty of time to compare prices and visit different locations for purchases. Right off the start, I am advising anyone NOT to go to Arlington Nissan or Schaumburg Nissan. I have visited both within the last decade for service and purchasing, and they are consistent in being a bunch of crooks in both departments. After receiving quick responses through the internet from 3 different (other) dealerships in the area, St. Charles Nissan hands down was the most down-to-earth, helpful and relaxed personal experience I have ever encountered at a dealership. They knew I had done my research, and my sales person, Mr. Bob Shewalter was so personable, I almost forgot I was there to buy a car. The head of finance, Jeff, was also, very helpful in calculating the numbers for me, comparing my credit union (great rate) and their financing, without me asking. I was treated very well, and they answered all my concerns about what the car had to offer. They never asked me about what the other dealerships had to offer, and were only concerned with what I wished for. The other 2 dealerships kept hounding me about what the other places offered, even for my trade-in...which is none of anyones business, but mine! They were honest with upfront costs, special offers, incentives, etc, which may or may not have applied to me...AND they were willing to write it all down, and my final walk out price without hesitation! Although, the other dealerships may price quote match through emails/internet, having to get them to write them down in detail is another story! (Manny-at McGrath Nissan! Try not to deal with him and his unprofessional temper) FYI-MLady in Crystal Lake has the same owner as the above mentioned, I strongly suggest avoiding. All in all, I thought the experience was very enjoyable. They even went to go find my exact color of car, knowing that the end of the month had limited inventory left everywhere. Furthermore, I had to come back to have a new part added, and paperwork reevaluated, that the GM was nice enough to throw in a tank of gas for my inconvenience and wait. As a female purchasing this car, they seem to have the knowledge that it is NOT what new shiney gadget they had the offer in my car purchase that would impress me, but rather the respect, and professional honest treatment I would experience, that would make my final decision where to buy my car. I walked out of dealerships, that even though they had a slightly better price, by a small margin, I was mis-treated because, I did my research and knew what I doing, and was looking for specifically. A dealership should embrace the fact, that with the internet, consumers will be better informed and can really go anywhere for their purchase, and most likely will go where they are treated well. Even the owner of the dealership took the time to come out and thank us personally for buying a car. Obviously, his positive treatment of his employees and his customers exemplifies he is running a classy dealership. S

STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS! I started my search online, and was contacted by a gentleman named Dan. When I first talked to Dan, I was told I was approved for a few cars, ALL UNDER 100,000 MILES. I was excited and told him a date I would come in and he told me NOT to apply for a car anywhere else because my approval could change. Of course I trusted him, but I really wish I wouldnt have, because I could have had a car when I wanted one. I understand you want people to come in so you can see if you can work for them, but that was a horrible lie because I went without a car when I could have had one from another dealership. I loved Nissans so I figured I would go to a Nissan dealership. Like I said I filled out the credit app and was told I was approved. When I called the day of just to see what I needed to bring, I was told I would meet with Chuck and every thing was in place for my appointment. When I arrived I had to wait for 30 minutes for Chuck, and then I dealt with Dennis. Dennis gets all my information and then comes back 30 minutes later to tell me I can’t get approved without a co-signer. I was furious! Why was I told I was approved for multiple cars when I really was not?! Waste of time! So Dennis finds me a 2004 Altima with 114,000 miles. I told him from the beginning I was not interested, but I figured I would test drive it anyway since I drove an hour to the dealer. I hated it, and decided to leave since they clearly couldn’t help me. As I’m walking to my car Dennis tells me they have a 2008 Nissan Sentra at the West Chicago dealership, and drives me (15 minutes away) in the 2004 Altima he was trying to sell me. We get to the West Chicago dealer only to find out the Sentra he told me about was stick shift. I told him he completely lost my business and I was done dealing with them. I don’t know if his selling technique was having me be in the Altima for longer to try and convince me, what whatever it was pissed me off worse. All and all it was a complete waste of time. I ended up going to CarMax, got excellent honest service, and found a car I love without all the lies and sneaky selling. I was literally in and out within an hour and a half with a car I love rather than wasting 3 hours at Nissan of St.Charles to leave empty handed. I didn’t need a co-signer like I was told I would have to have at Nissan, and they tried to tell me I wouldn’t get financed anywhere else because of my lack of credit. Well sucks for them because I have literally referred 3 of my friends to my salesman at CarMax all who have purchased cars. This dealership is DISHONEST and LIARS, and that’s not someone you want to make a big purchase through!
