Lets start off by saying that on Monday 4/10/2016 we traveled all over Elgin to different dealers to find the perfect vehicle for my boyfriend. McGrath Nissan was the 5th dealer we stopped at. When we arrived Jaw Stewart Promptly greeted us and asked us if we had any questions. We explained that we were not sure and if we could walk the lot. He told us which vehicles were used and which were new. We went off to look. Once we found some we went to him to ask prices and test drive one. He explained the cars features etc. then we went off for the drive. As we were driving we had questions on different parts on the vehicle and Jay did the best he could to answer them all with having a computer with more info in front of him. We got back to the dealer and explained that we didnt want to sit down and talk numbers and all that without my father being there to help us out. He understood and gave us his card to let him know when we would be stopping by with my dad. we shook hands and left. Few hours later we went back with my dad to test drive it again. Again Jay was very informative when my dad had questions for him as well. Which made my dad happy. Jay was not pushy and let us do the talking and explaining what would fit our budget and needs, instead of trying to push any vehicle on us to make a sale. We went back inside to to fill out the necessary paperwork and start on negotiation to take the car home. Once he was approved for the loan thats when the negotiations started. There was a bit of back and forth then Jeff Marcus the Used Car Manager came out to negotiate with my boyfriend. He was really easy to work with and made sure we had the price that was right for us so we didnt walk out empty handed. Jeff was also pleasant to work with. The final person we worked with to sign all the paper work with was the Finance Manager Mario Lopez. We had great conversations, He was easy to talk to. Explained everything and anything. Seriously helped my boyfriend out with an even better deal then what we walked in with. Helped that this was my boyfriends first time purchasing a vehicle by taking out a loan and we was great at explaining all the paper and the warranty etc. So from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out we were handed with exceptional customer service. Everyone was super easy to work with and super easy to talk to when it came to concerns and questions. We couldnt have asked for a better dealership! After Monday you guys have earned longtime customers. We will be returning in the future and making sure to mention to family and friends that McGrath Nissan in Elgin is the place to go for a vehicle!

I bought a vehicle here and while the sales man and the staff were friendly, I was apparently sold a car in February that needs $1100-$1500 worth of work in May/June. Coincidentally my "warranty" was only valid for 3 months. Im disappointed that Nissan would not accept responsibility for issues with my car within 3 months of having it. This includes a non working air conditioning condenser. I feel at the bare minimum, for what I spent to have a newer vehicle - I should have air. Im not paying $350 a month to ride around in my Nissan sweating profusely. Not only does it make me look bad - but when I tell people I bought a car from McGrath in Feb and in May when I attempted to use the air conditioning it didnt work - it makes McGrath look bad. I am a local business supporter and before my 3 month warranty expiration and before Nissan told me the absurd amount of money I would have to pay for "repairs" - I was frequently telling people to go to McGrath. Not anymore. I will not refer any friends or family or colleagues or acquaintances to this dealership. Its shady business to sell someone a $12,000 car and within 3 months it needs a minimum of $1100 worth of repairs when the car has literally been driven up and down the same street in Elgin the 3 months I have had it. Contrary to what the service manager says, the damage to my vehicle is NOT due to "terrain". I have not taken this vehicle 4 wheeling. I have not taken it to the dunes. I havent even taken it out of the state or on the expressway much for that matter. Its a vehicle that drives 10-15 miles a day. I "upgraded" my vehicle so that regardless of a monthly payment - I could feel safe and comfortable in what I was driving. I do not feel safe with the constant ticking and clicking and the air conditioning not working (ever) in 90+ degrees doesnt make me so comfortable. On another note, the repair list from Nissan states my control arm on my vehicle was "Very Very Loose" but they did not repair. Would it have taken so much time or effort to tighten a control arm? I took my vehicle to a certified mechanic that has worked on my family vehicles for years and he said there was nothing loose around or near my control arm. Just because the deal is done, doesnt mean that McGrath should be "done" with their customer.

I was originally impressed with this dealership. My salesperson was Matt.I got an honest vibe from them. Manny also assisted me with my car purchase, which I was very thankful for because I needed a vehicle asap and made my purchase easy and a breeze. I left a deposit to hold my versa and I was to pick it up the next day(Sat.). The next I got off later than expected but when I got there all my paperwork was ready(a breeze again) which I thought was great. When I met up with my husband at the in laws right after, they pointed out that my left rear light was craked(hadnt seen this when I was first shown the vehicle), but the dealer was closed at the time and it was Saturday. I figured Id say something about on Monday since I was picking up my plates. Matt assured hed take a look it while I was filling out insurance paperwork. When I was done nothing was mentioned about. He probably took a look and said, "oh well". He was there while they were putting the plates on. So I left a bit angry just testing to see if theyd get back to me on that but never did. The next time when my car needed to be serviced, I again mentioned something to Matt about it he gets Keith to speak with me. He introduced himself and explained the car was inspected and it was either "whoever inspected the vehicle missed it" or suggested that something happened while I had the car, which is not the case b/c I would Not waste my time to type this if I did that to it. He said he was caught in the middle but by not believing me he suggested Im a liar! He kept saying how does he know and wouldnt let something like that fly, but obviously did that time. Also my liscense plate lights were out by my second car payment....he directly said "Now I see you dont wanna pay for some bulbs right?"...totally rubbed me the wrong way... I was gonna pay for them, just not there...Oh yea... my bumper it popping out in the front now too! Will never ever do business with them again! My first experience taking out a car---> horrible! I AM NOT A LIAR! EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES EVEN YOUR TECHS! thats why my brakes were still squeaking after the first time i had it serviced there! Im 100% sure I had nothing to do with my craked light!
