UPDATE 10/13/1016. OK, so even after I wrote this review, I still had to go back and forth with Simotes a little bit to finally get this issue resolved. At some point, they hired a new repair manager named Willie, and he really helped me to get the problem resolved. After taking it in, and them not being able to figure out the problem with my car, we arranged to have them pick it up from my job, and they took it to a VW dealership directly, and finally figure out what the problem was. They then were able to pick it up, get it fixed and after about a month of driving, I havent had any other problems! At first, I was pretty upset with these guys because of the three months of going back and forth, waisting time, not getting straight answers from the staff, and after paying hundreds of dollars on repairs that didnt actually fix the problem. When Willie came on though, he REALLY went to bat to get my problems resolved and I really appreciate it. I think their service dept has finally got it together and actually functions properly now. *************************************************************************** This is the old review that I posted on 08/04/2016 follows below. I dont think other customers will have problems like I had anymore, but wanted to leave this to know what I had to deal with. TL;DR - STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!! They will sell you a car that they KNOW has problems but worse yet, they cant fix the cars that they sell. SERVICE CENTER IS A JOKE I have only owned a car for just about a month, but about half of the time it has been at the dealership waiting on repairs. I get that its a used car, but DAMN, immediate problems, and a service center that is just incabable of fixing this vehicle. The whole history follows. If they actually end up fixing this issue, I will update this review. I purchased a 2009 Volkswagen from them on 06/24. By 6/30 I was already getting a check engine light. Took it in on the weekend, told me it was an emission problem, cleared check engine light. Got the light again the same day, so brought it back in after the july 4th holiday. Told me it was a leak detection pump, it took a week and a half for them to fix, and they charged me $400 to fix. I picked it up, and within ONE HOUR of light driving, the check engine light came back on. Brought it back in, waited another 2 days, then they told me that they had to reconnect a wire on the leak detection pump(shoddy work??). Dealt with Jeff. He assured me they had the problem fixed. Two days later, check engine light comes back on. Took it back in. Another guy (scott) tells me that the gas cap was loose (which it wasnt), and said everything is ok. I insisted that there was still a problem with it, and he told me that he would do some research into what could be the issue. Two days later (again), check engine light comes back on. Dropped it off on saturday so they could start working on it this tuesday (08/02) and just got a call that they cant work on it till next week because they only have one technician working for the entire service center. Very angry, and frankly this was the last straw. This was the reason I put this review out here.

Everything went well until we were pulled into the office and sign the papers. They specifically told my wife and I that they were paying OFF our trade in. Pay off as in we no longer owe anything on it. Our trade in was worth at least double theirs and my wife and I wanted something smaller and also more affordable, hence our interest in their car. Come to find out later that the papers show that we still owed money for the previous car because they just stacked it ontop of our new finance. I wasnt too happy with that. On top of that, we receive really poor service. I know Derek had a few deals going on that day but he basically left us sitting while he did whatever he had to do. My wife and I drove 5 hours to do the deal, we didnt eat anything since that morning and we didnt sign the papers until 7:30pm. That got us home at 1pm!!! The next day I had the car inspected by a Fiat dealer mechanic and we also realized the car was missing some parts in the engine bay. The Oil hasnt been changed cause it was black!!! I called Simotes to let them know about the missing parts and they receive a star for this! They handled it very well and paid for what was missing. Thats because they probably made 6k-10k easy on my trade in. But Im at least grateful for that replacement. Overall, Im I know Simotes can do better! For that I give them a poor rating because I felt they didnt treat my wife and I their very best. They also played a dirty move on our trade in. Our car should have gone through inspection before the sale but surprisingly the oil wasnt changed and they had no idea of the missing parts. Or did they? I recommend bringing a mechanic to view the vehicle of interest and examine it well!

I wouldnt be a return customer to Simotes. I bought an expensive luxury car from Simotes. I flew halfway across the country to pick it up in order to drive it home to the east coast, because this car was exactly to my liking. I called them prior to arriving to the airport, and they told me that they wouldnt pick me up from OHare airport (although their website said that they will). When I finally got to the dealership, my car was extremely dirty on the exterior. They told me that they didnt detail it. When driving off, my car was on reserve fuel and only had a range of 6 miles worth of gas left in the tank (were they joyriding my car around?). When I arrived to my states DMV, they took a look at the cars title and told me that Simotes had made an error in counting the mileage of the car (by some minimal number like 20 miles), thus rendering my odometer "not actual", reducing the value of my car should I sell it in the future. Needless to say, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Wow...these guys exceeded every possible expectation!!! I cant say enough good things about John (sales manager) and Derek (my amazing sales guy). They were honest, fair, responsive, exceedingly helpful, very responsive, accommodating and not the slightest bit pushy (the biggest turnoff to me when dealing with car dealerships). I was an out-of-state buyer and John and Derek both stayed late into the evening to meet me and made the entire process easier than I ever could have imagined. John even called me 2 days later to say that he had contacted the previous owner of the vehicle I purchased to see if by chance any spare keys were available (they were) and John put them in the mail to me right away. Class acts all around who have definitely set the bar for what you should expect from a car buying experience.

Wow is all I can say!! Terry Rogers is an extremely nice guy that just talked to us about what we were looking at. He was not pressuring, he just talked to us like a friend who wanted to help us get what we were looking for. We went in with a pre-approval amount, but it was for a much older vehicle because our plan was to purchase for my 16 year old. But then John Ott dealt with the financing aspect and (I still dont know how), but he got us the payment we needed and we ended up buying a newer truck that seemed like only a dream for the very distant future! We had 2 different plans for our vehicle search that day, and Simotes offered us an option 3 that we didnt even know existed!! We cant thank them enough ! Their service and friendliness are exceptional and I will definitely be a repeat customer!
