Terrible experience with geek squad/store manager. I purchased an iPad about 2 years ago and purchased an extra warranty that covered anything. The sales guy told me that if anything happened to it, bring it in and they would replace it, no questions. Well I dropped my iPad and the screen cracked, so I took it into the Skokie, IL location (also where I purchased it) and the Geek Squad rep told me it needed to be sent out for repair but that it was on a "fast track" and that it would take 3-5 days. I received an email in order to track my status. 10 days go by and my status just shows that the product is checked in. I called Geek Squad support and they indicated that the product was just shipped out yesterday, the 9th day since I provided it to the store. He further indicated to me that if its not ready in 14 days, that its Best Buy policy to replace with a brand new item. Further, he wanted me to talk to the store manager. I want to be clear, the Geek Squad rep on the phone was the only pleasant part of this experience. The store manager, Mark Moore gets on the phone and is a real jerk. Doesnt apologize for delay or anything and basically says that they have until the 14th day to get me my product, in a real cocky tone. I advised him that the original rep told me 3-5 days and that I need the iPad for work and he again did not apologize for the mix up and said that they have until 14 days. He said he would look further into the issue but didnt offer to call me back with any update and the call basically ended with me saying that I would be in the store on the 14th day. Nice customer service there, Mark.

I took my wifes car here (2001 Pontiac Grand Prix) to get a Viper remote start installed. I took the technicians recommendation and picked the 4103 because I thought that it would make the process go smoother. We dropped the car off and were told that it would be ready in 3 hours from our appointment. After 4 hours I called to hear that the unit was not working and he was taking it out. This was all fine and good. We returned the unit and received our money back. So far so good right? Wrong. As we were leaving the store she realized that the turn signals were not working and I noticed that the brake lights were not working. We tried to get back into the store through the bay but in the 5 minutes that it took us to turn around he had closed up shop. When we went around to the front of the store we saw him walking out. He tried to tell us that it was an intermittent problem and that it was that way before he got it. We had to take the car into our mechanic for 2 days before they were able to track down the wire that he had cut and replace all of the bolts that were missed (the bolts that held in the fuse panel....) I called the manager to complain and was told that he would look into it and call me back. Still waiting.............. Will never return to this store, or maybe any Best Buy ever again. Ive been a loyal customer there forever... Very disappointed....

NIGHTMARE Geek Squad experience!!!! I went to have my computer fixed there on a Thursday. They seemed competant and capable when I dropped it off. They replaced the hard drive and said it would be ready Saturday. I called that afternoon, the guy told me they had to run a few updates and then it would be ready. No call came for the rest of the day. I called them Sunday, they seemed confused, kept me on hold so long that I hung up and just drove there. Within that time, they called my house and said it was ready for pickup. I get there, and waited at the counter for 45 minutes, not because of a long line, but they had to sort out the confusion and paperwork. I ended up being told the only way to pay for the repairs was to sign on for a year of their tech support. When I was finally leaving, I set off the security alert because the hard drive box still had tags on it. Once home, a call came through from Best Buy. I was SO exasperated by this point, I made my husband take it. Guess what? They forgot to put the hard drive door back on my computer!!! So I come back the next day, try calling from the road, so I can just run in, get the part and run out. I was treated to 10 minutes of ringing with no answer. I tried the sales department, no luck either. I came in, and guess what? They dont know where the door to my hard drive is. UNBELIEVABLE. I am never going to that store again.

We came to best buy to purchase an iPod touch for my daughter. There was a $215 iPod and a $280 iPod. I ended up buying the cheaper one. When I gave the iPod to my daughter she told me there was no back camera. So we went back to best buy to exchange it for the $280 one that had a camera. The employee helping us said we cant exchange it because there were "scratches" on the screen. Ive been to best buy before and I know they will come up with any excuse not to return your product. And I read the return policy online and there was nothing about scratched iPods. The iPod is in excellent condition. So we asked to speak to the manager and he was flat out RUDE. His name was SEAN HOOVER. He COMPLETELY ignored us and had no interest in helping us. I will NEVER shop at best buy again. They have no interest in helping there customers and are always rude. Best buy on touhy is a mess and I hope it closes just like the Old Orchard Best Buy. I dont recommend purchasing ANYTHING from here.

Let me start off by saying that this store is the worst one in the entire district. Dealing with the customer service rep named STEPHANIE has caused me nothing but a waste of time. Worst Customer Service I have ever received. Have come here multiple times and even though I dont have the best experiences, people like her made it a lot worse. Cashier was no where to be found except sitting on her phone behind the store pick up area. When cashier did come from back to ring me out, she was very rude and unprofessional. I do not recommend anyone go to this Best Buy. Customer Service is absolutely lazy. If you do go, request another Cashier. The one I had to deal with was named Stephanie. All she did was was make mistakes and use her phone during the transaction. The manager obviously doesnt train his employees well. If I could give this rating less than one star, I would. This is the Best Buy at store 302 in Village Crossing.

I read all 21 reviews and I am not sure why so many people gave it bad reviews. I went to this store 3 years ago when the acer tablet had just came out and I bought one. Its been in perfect order without any problems. I never had to go the store with tablet to retrieve any problems. Its cheap and the customer service is really helpful. About a year ago I went to best buy to buy a car charger. My dad did not like it because it was so big so we went to the shop again and said can we exchange this for a 2 pin car charger and they said "what makes u happy makes us happy, please go to talk to justin who will help u pick your choice" That was real nice and Justin got us a cheaper 2 pin charger. He was real patient. About 9 months ago we went best but to get my sister a laptop an we went to best buy. They helped us pick out a real good touchscreen laptop. Tomorrow I will be going there to get myself a laptop.
