I usually go to the Menards in Yorkville, but stopped at this one on my way back home from a trip. What a disaster! Not only was the place absolutely filthy (far more than one would expect for a hardware store), but the staff could make a government agency seem competent and helpful. Words like "fencing" and "assistance" seemed to confuse and bewilder the creatures almost to the point of hilarity. Given the general state of disarray I found myself being superficially injured and was thus treated to more of their oafish antics. I realize that my shopping needs were terribly out of their realm of experience, such as it is, but the absurd disdain for even the foggiest notion of customer service was beyond repugnant. My efforts at finding a first aid kit to clean the mixture of grease and dust out of the cut on my hand was met with equal amounts of the kind of stupidity that simply takes ones breath away. Needless to say, I gave up on purchasing said fencing, and proceeded to simply take my pack of lightbulbs to the register. And, with stunning efficiency, I was met with more examples of the kind of behavior and general fogginess of mind I had already experienced. Apparently, my attempt to purchase said lightbulbs was such an affrontive use of the young womans time (she found it incredibly difficult to pull her eyes or a hand from her iphone to ring up my purchase) that she couldnt even be bothered to say a single word. I didnt buy the lightbulbs. I simply left. Save yourself from this genetic backwater and go to a Menards where the staff can say "hello" and many other words with more than a single syllable!

Whoever runs this store needs to be Fired! I bought a Knife from this store a while back, I found out Spring assisted knives are illegal in my state. so, I went to try to return the knife, I didnt have my receipt because I never planned on returning it. I was told in order to get a refund they had to take the knife from me and I had to call customer service, this was my first mistake, never give your item back unless you get a refund right then on the spot. Menards stole the knife from me and then accused me of stealing it! Worst experience of my life. I almost got arrested because Menards called the police over this. I was banned from all the stores in the Country and they had no proof at all that I stole anything, they also took my picture without my permission and Im guessing they will put my picture up in all their stores saying im banned. I hope Menards goes out of business for treating me this way, This is the Worst company in history. Ive shopped at home depot for over 10 years and have never been accused of stealing and never had a problem returning something. Stay Away from this Company and Store.

Ive had mixed experiences at this place. Im a former worker of Menards (different location), so the chain is generally my go-to store for home-repair items. With this location though, it honestly seems like the inventory, and employee accessibility, is just....less. Over the last week I was at two different locations picking up plumbing supplies that I need, and had no issue at all in finding them. Today, I was at this location, and after walking up each aisle of the plumbing department, I could not find the items I needed. I attempted to find a worker for assistance, and, despite 3 being marked as working that area, I only saw one, who saw me waiting for assistance, and, for reasons unknown to me, chose to turn tail and walk the other direction as soon as they were done with the guest they were helping. After 10 minutes of waiting for someone to pop up in that area to help, I gave up, placed my items on their department counter, and left. Looks like tonights trip will include a stop at Lowes instead.

First off I completely disagree with "Adrian Frost." I have had many great experiences at this Menards! and as for down talking all the workers, i think your a little too stuck up for Menards own good. Try going to home depot instead. I have confronted management at many Menards i have went to regarding cell phone policies for employees and guess what? There is very strict rule applied to being caught using a cell phone while on the clock. That policy pretty much makes clear that any employee caught on camera, which menards has over 50 of mounted above almost every isle, will be terminated no questions asked. So you Maam Or Sir are full of it.

Were a first time home buyer and were excited to purchase a lawn mower. The Menard staff was utterly useless in terms of making recommendations and when we did find one we liked, they didnt have it in stock. They did, however, say that we can get the last floor model. Yes, the floor model that has been on display forever, collecting dust, and who knows what. When we asked if there would be a discount associated with getting an open box model, the sales associate was quite rude in saying no. Needless to say, Im going to take all of my home related business to the Home Depot down the street.

Never did I have a bad experience. All the people are willing to help tou, if you just ask. They do not bother you when you shopping "can I help you with something" to me thats a plus, I hate when people follow you. Over there you get clear answers to where the products are and any recommendations, and I got plenty of good ones. The lines are never to long which is nice. And its pretty tidy and clean in bathrooms and around the store. Definitely love this menards!

I like that this store is very consistent. They have a place for everything and its in its place. The layout is well done and the pricing is always accurate and easy to find. The product selection is limited to certain brands but they are able to discount a good amount. Check out the oops paint section for some good deals on mismatched colors.

I went to buy 2 propane tank refills. The cashier was nice, but what I really appreciated was when I was carrying both empty tanks from my car to the sidewalk for the exchange, the young man that helped me met me halfway and carried the other one. Then, he offered to carry both new tanks to my car. Super nice guy!

Never disappointed here, if they dont have a item in stock, they will check and call another store. The young lady in electrical took my phone number and called me when the freight team found my item. Granted it was only a special light bulb, but it was a big deal to me for her to take extra steps

Ive spent thousands at this store for my house... insulation, drywall, lumber, trim, tools, lights, water heater, .... For many things theyre cheaper than the HD and Lowes nearby. Sometimes theres a brand I want that they dont have but for the most part theyre my go-to store for home stuff.
