My husband and I have a lively, energetic 4 year old boy and a brand new, 10 day old infant. Needless to say, we did not want to spend an entire day out with the family looking for the perfect new couch set. So we did our research online before heading out to the stores to shop. We found a set that we really liked at The Room Place in McHenry. When we went in to see it in person, we were greeted by Lexy. She knew exactly what set we were asking about and showed it to us right away. The model that was displayed on the floor had the power recline feature (which we were not interested in). Lexy never once tried to pressure us into purchasing the more expensive model or tried to up-sell us on additional matching pieces or anything. If theres one thing I hate when making big ticket purchases, its pushy sales people and she was definately NOT pushy. Instead Lexy told us about all of our options so we were in the know but left everything up to us. She was even good with my oldest son. He has a really hard time staying still and using his inside voice (things were working on with him) and she never once gave me the impression that she was getting irritated with him. She engaged him and made him feel welcome - not everybody has patience like that. When it was time to pay for our items and set-up the delivery, Lexy was very thorough in explaining all of their procedures and policies (we ended up buying the protection agreement - we picked white leather couches so it seemed like the smart thing to do, especially since we have small children). We were charged exactly what the price was online. Obviously, we had to pay for delivery, the protection agreement and tax but there were no other hidden fees or undisclosed amounts. My husband and I are extremely satisfied with the quality of the sofa/love seat & the friendliness of the employees (ask for Lexy - shes great!) and we will definately be going back to The Room Place for our next furniture purchase!

I have never written a review of this type but will never again recommend this store or the chain itself! I am of the generation that furniture lasted while your kids grew up! I purchased a couch less than 20 months ago and it is falling apart. Unfortunately I did not by additional coverage because I assumed that the product I purchased would at least hold up for a decent amount of time. After speaking to representatives, I was read the script "we appologize but the manufacturers warranty only last one year". My question to them is how can you put a product on the floor if YOU do not stand behind it as a company!! I have no children jumping on this couch and it has not been moved since the day it was delivered so it did not even stand up to normal wear and tear! Oh but the Room Place will be happy to refer me to a furntiture repair store at my expense! I may be old fashioned but this is just another representation on where our society is going. This company encourarages you to purchase their product to turn a quick profit but the only way you can be sure if the product will stand the test of time -- a WHOLE 20 MONTHS --is to shell out more cash at the time of purchase. So you are essentially guaranteeing your own purchase> I discourage anyone from soliciting this store, please take the time to look else where and remember BUYER BEWARE!!

I am very unhappy with the customer service from Armando and Joel at this location and will not buy anything ever again from this store. In the past I have always had a pretty decent experience with the Vernon Hills location. Armando is rude and not very helpful. Joel seems to be very inconsistent. My furniture order was placed at the end of September with a back-ordered date for mid October. Today is 12/7/16, and I still have not received all of my pieces to the bedroom set. Armando & Joel informed me again this week for the 3rd time that my items have been pushed back AGAIN now until January 2017, however I must still make my 1st payment thats due next week. I requested on 11/22/16 that Joel please dispute the payment date for December as I have not been able to put together my bedroom set due to the missing pieces. After waiting for a return call ( that I never received from Joel). I decided to call and follow up on 12/5/16. Nothing had been done. Please save yourselves the headache and stress and deal with another company when anticipating purchasing furniture. I guess refunding me back $80 and a delivery charge of $139.00 is good enough customer service on their behalf.

Do not buy any furniture from this store at all. I recently purchased a queen bed . The bed came with a big crack in the headboard. Yes, a cracked headboard with a brand new bed???. I called them and they offered me a replacement . So i waited for the replacement , and the replacement headboard had so many scratches on it. I refused to take it then and there .Finally , they again scheduled me for delivery, yes the third time and the third headboard had again crack in it. Finally, i concluded that i am wasting my time with these crooks.This is what you get when you give business to these idiots. I cant believe i paid for cracked furniture , and off course for a brand new one. I will never ever buy from this store and this company again.

I would just like to say we had a wonderful experience at this location. My husband and I were looking to get a new couch and dining set. Our sales representative, Lexy Gaumain, was absolutely amazing! She was so knowledgeable on the products and answered all of our questions. She even talked us into upgrading our loveseat to power (which thank you Lexy, its awesome!). The ordering process was super easy and Lexy explained everything to us. She even called us to update us on our order! We received our couches and dining set and couldnt be happier. Thank you Lexy! We couldnt have done it without you!!! I suggest if youre thinking about getting new furniture, then go to this location and ask for Lexy. She wont let you down!

I would not buy anything ever again from this store. We purchased what was supposed to be one of their best sectional couches about 2 years ago. From the moment it was delivered it was missing parts to put it together, missing a foot. Front is tearing off the bottom, I removed the cushions to clean underneath and the fabric is tearing away from the wood framing, we can actually see the wood frame of the couch. Told by the store to call the insurance coverage we purchased with the couch but the insurance coverage is a scam it does not cover anything. After a few years of selecting a new couch we now have one that is falling apart.

I had a great shopping experience with Lexy from sales. She listened to what I was looking for, and took me straight to the most fantastic option that was perfect for what I was looking for. Talking with her about looking for another bed, and with what she showed me they had for a smart bed that was adjustable, I had to call back two days later and order it to0! She was so good with helping me out while I was there, it made me comfortable enough to call and place an order for a second bed two days later. It is fantastic because both beds were able to be delivered on the same day!
