I went in to purchase a TV and the sales girl was very helpful. I purchased an open box item paid and was given the accessories, it was going to take them 20 minutes to take it down so I went across the street to run an errand. When I came back they loaded the TV with no issues. When I got home I was trying to put the TV stand together and realized they gave me a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BRAND! It was a 60 inch TV and I live in an apartment building in Chicago. This was not easy to move. I called the store who had me on hold for an hour trying to figure out what to do. They CS associate Angelica was very sweet and tried to help however whoever the "Sales Manager" is should not be a manager. They would not come on the phone to speak with me and just kept going back and forth between me and her. He offered that I pay the difference for the TV they gave me which is an older model 1080p and the TV I purchased was a 4K. WHY WOULD I PAY MORE MONEY FOR AN OLDER TV!!!! Not to mention it had no accessories (stand or remote) Or I had to bring the TV back myself and they would give me a $50 "credit" since they couldnt deliver it. Sure Best Buy, let me take more time to inconvenience myself and carry a TV thats as large as me down the stairs and street and drive to Lansing from Chicago for a $50 credit or give you more money for YOUR MISTAKE! Never NEVER shopping at Best Buy again.

Great staff, great management, great experience! Ive bought a lot of stuff from here (And had consistent, amazing experiences), but a memorable experience was probably back in February, when I bought a home theater system. The home theater staff who assisted me (Daija, Nura, and Jake) were all very professional/knowledgable, and helped me form a complete home-theater solution for my new house. I walked in expecting to just pick up a cheap TV for my living room, but ended up walking out with a complete home theater solution (Sony XBR-65x850D, 2x Klipsch 6.5" tower speakers, 1x Klipsch center channel, 1x Onkyo tx-nr656, 2x klipsch 10" subwoofers, and all the accessories I needed). They had everything in stock, and I walked out with everything I needed. I then wired everything up according to the instructions that they provided, and it looks/sounds amazing! I was going to make my purchase at Highland, but their less than stellar customer service/management influenced me to take my business elsewhere - I have no regrets, and will be taking my business here in the future. Whole debacle went terribly, ended up sitting there for 90 minutes and still having to go to another location the next day. Just upgraded my wifes phone at this location because they had the Pixel in Stock. Usually I avoid this location. It went terribly. The employee needed me to help with the transfer process, including using a wifi Hotspot off my phone to backup 6GB from my wifes phone. (She didnt know how to get files from one phone to the other.) When I asked what we were using the Hotspot for, I shut that down for reasons of time, data usage, and because theres no way the employee was trained to do something like that. I tweeted something about it and @BestBuy asked me to email them. Turns out their email support has no power over anything, and actually refused to show me that theyd even emailed the store. Not the first time I ended up paying extra at Best Buy due to bad service. Id suggest the Highland location, as no industry competitors have the selection. And just being extremely prepared.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!! An employee convinced me on buying a 3D TV someone had "just returned, and had nothing wrong with it" I buy it and the employee tells me not to turn it on for about 24 hrs. I get home and after 24hrs I install it and turn it on , only to find the 3D thing does not work. The screen starts to flicker every time I play a 3D movie or I try to watch TV in 3D. I call Best Buy at 8:45 pm and was put on hold. At 9:01 someone finally answers, I explain my situation and ask what I should do l, the employee tells me "unfurtenatly we close at 9:00 PM , but Im sure you will only have to look in the manuel, like I said we close at 9:00 , someone could help you at 10:00 Am tomorrow ", first of all I wasnt given a manual, so I try to explain I was on hold for about 20 minutes so I shouldve had someone help me , the employee HUNGED UP ON ME! This is not professional at all. I really hope they keep track of all these reviews so it can help the managers straighten up their employees.

Worst customer service ever!! I called the store in advance before driving out there to inquire if they had car radio faceplates, just the faceplates, no need for a full stereo replacement. I was told over the phone they did sell just the faceplates. I drive over to the store, wait for a "customer service rep" to tear himself away from the other fellow employee he was flirting with at the time instead of noticing me standing there tapping my foot, he tells me finally they only sell whole stereos and they have never sold just faceplates, I tell him what I was told over the phone and he literally laughed in my face. Him and his little girlfriend thought my plight was the funniest thing ever. Im standing there waiting for an explanation or at least an apology for my inconvenience which never came, so I sulked out cursing the Best Buy name under my breathe. Bomb that building immediately.

Update: the service got alot better over the past year so they are trying. New workers are in every section and can find help now. Much have improved and I have to give them credit for it. Employees gotten a tad bit better as well. Still keeping my review of their past up to show companies can show improvement. Old review: They are no good! No good at all. I am always looking for help with no one around at any department. They never have a product Im looking for which the Best Buy homewood IL always has. The employees in Best Buy mobile are A**holes never and I mean NEVER there to help you out. The only workers that always help are the ones in the tablet section. They need to get it together. They dont even have working phones to try out. Just shop at Best buy homewood or just shop online at amazon and avoid this place all together.

I bought a HP Pavilion in March 2009. And I have had nothing but problems (I have taken it back 4 times). I also bought the warranty from the Geek Squad. The service was so bad at the store on 87th St. that I had to go to the store in Lansing, Ill. I have been getting the run around. The Geek Squad will first say that they found the problem, then they say that the problem was a false positive. They clean the hard drive to solve the problem then give it back to you. A short time later the problem continues to come back. I am waiting for them to give me an update now. (my warranty expires in March) I hope that they do not wait until after then to find the problem. Stay tuned.
