Today, we had a bad experience at Tony’s Finer Foods in Hanover Park. We shop there every weekend, along with a few stops during the week. Usually the staff are all very friendly. However, today we had the unfortunate opportunity to meet the most unfriendly cashier we have ever experienced. Brenda, is what her named tag stated, did not greet us with a smile or a verbal acknowledgement that we were even there. She just started scanning the items on the conveyor belt. After I finished emptying the shopping cart with the items I was purchasing, I started watching the monitor as each scanned item appeared on the screen. I questioned an item that scrolled on the screen, but my concern was never acknowledged by Brenda. I was totally ignored. So, I stated again my question on the item. She just continued to grab items from the conveyor belt to her right and scan them with a deadpan look of indifference. The bag boy seemed intimidated by her to say anything. The item was displayed at only 89 cents so I let it go rather than stop flow of items leaving the scale/scanner by Brenda who kept her Buster Keaton smile the whole time. Finally, Brenda spoke but only to inform us of the total balance and wait for me to scan my credit card. I almost blurted out, “Oh, you do speak.” But I chose to be polite instead. So I scanned my credit card, she handed me the receipt, again without any salutations and we left.

Seemingly good availability and selection of products/ produce. Picked up a bag of the big red onions .. and most of those were rotten inside. Another day, found a green worm in the cauliflower! How do they get away with these? Whatever happened health inspections! Watch out for misleading labeling too. Bought a bottle of their store brand "olive oil" which was advertised less than original brand. But on closer look, though the label says "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" .. theres smaller letters on the label that says "Sunflower oil and " .. turns out its 75% sunflower oil and 25% Olive oil. Kept in the same aisle mixed along with olive oil and "sunflower oil" mentioned in smaller font. Most customers miss it if you are not that savvy. So if you are used to blindly trusting and picking products off the shelf like in your traditional American stores.. this is not your place. I was disgusted at their ethics. Makes one wonder how organic is their organic produce etc, you know.

A diamond in the rough!! Im a pretty loyal Marianos shopper and I take my grocery stores seriously. And I am pretty impressed with this location. First off, it is HUGE. It is pretty open and has a wide range of products from all over the world. The produce section is gigantic. Its nicely stocked and well organized. Their bakery is nicely displayed, and the whole place seems more open than you would expect from the outside. The only concern in this whole thing is there is only one way in and only one way out. So youre forced to follow a particular path when entering and exiting. Overall, Im impressed. I know I will stop by this place more often from now on.

Terible ,rut people on the line on deli theyre discriminating other people then Mexican Nation people. I was on the line waiting passionately for my turn , the deli worker take other people which came after me and holding number far far after my. When I asked for manager hi came and said just " yes hi not supposed to do like this". This is all now apologies,nothing like this. Im not going there any more , just expected to be care like others for my money. Plus they not supposed to speak Spanish for the customers, we are in US not Mexico

Worst grocery store in the area!! Rotten fruit and vegetables, not so freshly squeezed orange juice. Most employees dont know where things are. Dirty, messy, wet floors and bathrooms. A lot of spoiled, expired, over priced, damaged and never in stock products. Never any carts for customers. Small and undercooked rotisserie chicken. The employees from the deli can not cut anything properly. Slow cashiers and baggers. Bad service from the service desk. Worst music selection for a grocery store. I blame the new manager Jr.

So my daughter and I was at the self check lane. When we tried to scan a pineapple we noticed that the code was missing, we call the young man to help us out, and he just walked over to us and said a code so fast that neither of us understood. When we asked him to say it again, he walks away to continue his talk with his friend. I was VERY disappointed in his customer service. If youre being paid to work, thats what you should do, your job. Thanks to the young lady at the front end as manager. You are appreciated.

I loved Ultra foods but when I heard they changed to Tonys I was in shock. But last week I thought I would give it a try so I did. As soon as I got there I was greeted by this young man named Justin Miller. He was too kind and had an amazing attitude, even though it was really cold (35 degrees). Since they changed the interior of the store I had a hard time finding things but then Justin helped me out. He knew where everything was in that store. Only if this kids check was as big as his heart. #GiveHimARaise

Amazing store! They have a red box to rent movies from, and a claw machine ! I did win couple of times! Great tomatoes and potatoes ! Tonys has some really good lighting which is good because I dont have to use my phones flashlight. Just so people know they dont sell clothes, Playstation 4 or games ! I want to buy a 1080 gtx and an intel i7 so I can join the PC master race but they are expensive. Anyways sorry for the sidetrack, yeah its a good market.

We purchased some chicken thighs recently, we went to cook it three days after it was purchased and it smelled awful before even opening the package, but once we did it punched us in th he face with a terrible oder and we threw it away, the smell was coming out of the fridge with the doors closed. We have yet to try any of their other meats but we will surely never purchase their chicken again.

I was looking for GEROLSTEINER mineral water, and VINCE walked to the shelf to check the amount available and the price! Great! The store was nice and neat and Richard showed me some of the interesting imported items which I appreciated very much! The service here is excellent, which is not usual so is appreciated. I am looking forward to my next shopping trip.....

I dont understand the 1 star review with "spoiled fruit and veg." Tonys has one of the best produce departments I have ever seen. This store has a great selection of food choices (I dont have to go to multiple stores for my groceries) and prices seem pretty comparable to everyone elses; just a few minutes from my house, this is pretty much my go-to store.

Lately is becoming too expensive with poor quality. Beside the services is terrible at the meat dep. They talk each other making jokes dont greet you, dont have the product ready ,awfull. At deli gives a 10 and the cashiers too, very friendly and polites. There is no manager around. Im considering change from market not my favorite anymore.
