Ive been a Jewel customer all my life, and this is hands down the worst Jewel. It is the closest grocery store to my house, so I unfortunately have to shop here for quick last minute things on occasion. Why this place is terrible: 1. Ive interacted with the store managers on 3+ occasions and they are smug and act like Im bothering them 2. The store is consistently out of stock of common items, especially produce. 3. On many occasions I walk in and they have zero carts for me to use 4. The clientele is generally sad and miserable. 5. The staff is stressed and unfriendly (a reflection of management) 6. Selection of products is lacking 7. The produce lacks variety and is of lower quality than other jewels Do yourself a favor and go to the Jewel in downtown Elmhurst instead (its an excellent Jewel). Or if you really want a great grocery store go to Marianos in North Elmhurst

Ive been here only a few times in my life but I recently visited here just to use their TCF Bank. I ended up shopping for dinner items when I approached one of the deli counters. One of the guys behind the counter noticed us looking and assumed that we were about to approach him. That is when he yelled saying that we needed a number. I found it very rude to jump to conclusions when all we really wanted was to look first before purchasing. I would never go there again. Luckily we hurried out after that embarrassing event and checked out with a nicer person, the cashier, Brittany. Again, I believe that will be my last visit to that end of town and that Jewel.

Every once in a while Ill get a friendly employee, but in general, I have had bad experiences almost every time coming here. Employees seem to really not like working there and have an attitude, which is a shame because its probably not their fault. Businesses can make their employees lives miserable if they dont treat them right. I knew a couple people that have worked here and quit because of that reason.

The workers remove the expired food during the daytime blocking the coolers with shopping carts. You cant get to the items you want to buy. They should do that at night when there are less shoppers in the store.

I was disappointed when I only found two flavors of Mystic drinks on their shelves while they had a large selection of Snapple drinks which I dont prefer. If youre looking for Mystic drinks dont come here.
