I hate to give bad reviews (i usually dont leave any) but i special ordered a nice bike, picked it up and the tire exploded right next to my ear. In my friends van. It had the flat fixing stuff in it as well and it made an impressive mess. Im still in parking lot so i take bike back in. I guess they pumped up tire a teenie bit much...the gauge wasnt working or something. Short story: they fix and i get bike a day or 2 later and its nice ride Long story: the reason Im giving a bad review is that nobody even bothered to come out to see what an exploding tire does to a carpeted van. Me n pastor Ed were out there cleaning it (with our ears ringing...it was pretty hilarious actually). When bike was ready i asked for a discount to pay for carpet cleaning and that was denied but i already decided i wasnt gonna make an issue out of it so no biggie. So how about some swag? They did go for that, basically some free samples they had in the back...nothing i can really use but maybe i can give away to someone who can. Then after about 2 days one of the pedals break. I should say the pedals arent part of the bike i ordered, the bike shop gets bike without and just puts on cheapies so its ready to roll. But still, im sure target would stand by the cheap petals they sell if they didnt even last a week. I contact my sales guy and dont hear back right away (maybe hes off for a couple days) so i call the shop and tell my story. That was a week ago...or has it been a couple weeks? Anyway, they are never calling back. I know this has been a thrilling read but thats all for here. If you want more youll have to read the novel. Bottom line: Im prob not even gonna bother getting my free tuneup here. Suppose i do and something goes wrong? Will they stand behind their work? Check tire pressure?

Clearly STEVE MICHALSKI is one of those superior people does not understand what a privilege and the pleasure it is to work with a group of people who have dedicated their lives to making sure that they understand not only the mechanics of the bikes that they work on, but that they also understand the needs of the myriad of different people who have a myriad of biking needs. Its also interesting that the alleged bike issue is never articulated nor is there an explanation of how that alleged bike issue was not resolved. Your writing style and your limited vocabulary from your review lead me to believe that I should slow down here so you can catch up to words that you likely wont understand. We have purchased several bikes from Lucky Brake and their techs have spent a lot of time working with us to make sure that the bike fit the individual and that the individual understood the bike. If your delicate sensibilities were so offended by a group of young people who dont look like you, then why did you leave your precious vehicle wth them? The fact that you are using the word "hoodlums" in what I can only assume is one of the biggest words that you know, leads me to believe that you are a man who judges a book by its cover. Wait. You probably dont read books....but I hope that you catch the comparison. It would do us all a great service for you to post the transcript of your conversation with your credit card company demanding that they reimburse you because the hoodlums and likely drug dealers may or may not have fixed your bike. Im sure that this is not the first ridiculous and inane conversations that you have had with them. "Hello, Citibank...I took my bike to this place and they had tattoos and some of the "boys" had long hair and it was scary..."

I wandered into Lucky Brake on the recommendation of another triathlete for help in getting my first tri bike. The folks at another shop I visited first were very nice, showed me a catalogue with some options and sent me on my way in less than 10 minutes. I expected a similar experience at Lucky Brake since I still really just intended to window shop and get some pricing info. Karrie understood my questions spot on and soon had another staff member cutting down seats while she started sizing a couple different bikes for me. The quick 10 minute visit I was expecting turned into an hour of no-pressure sizing and 2 test rides, then a return trip later that afternoon, and instead of window shopping, I am now the stoked owner of the very first bike Karrie showed me, a new Liv Envie Advanced road bike (marked down +$1000) plus new shoes (also ~60% off) pedals, aerobars, and hydration set up. Karrie is so knowledgable and I LOVE that shes not afraid to make suggestions. (I cant stand going into places looking for actual expertise, and end up getting those "its really up to you/just listen to your heart" type answers. I go to a specialty store in the first place because there are certain decisions that are really better handled by qualified professionals who know more about what Im looking for than I do.) She completely respected my budget and went out of her way to help me keep my total down. Seriously awesome customer service. Karrie and her staff are that perfect combination of professionalism and down-to-earth vibe (like be my dream bike matchmaker and also my new best friends afterwards) that can only possibly turn you into a customer forever.

This is one great shop! Ive been dreaming of building a custom MTB for quite some time now. I finally got everything I needed to get started. I hit a few snags along the way. I called Lucky Brake to ask a few questions about having their techs cut and fit some parts. I fully expected to have to drop off my bike and pick it back up in a week or so, not the case here! I spoke to one of the owners and she said to stop on by and the techs could do it while I waited. So i of course stopped by. I was greeted by a really nice young man (who was the tech that worked on my rig). You can tell right away by talking to him that he not only knows what hes doing, but also has a passion for bikes. He did an amazing job at customizing and fitting the parts to my bike! Fast forward 1 week... I went back in to have my final parts tuned up. They knocked it out right there while I waited. With in 5 mins of being there, the owner walked up to me and introduced herself to me. She was extremely nice and friendly. She actually remembered our phone convo from a week ago. She has a great shop with great employees. I will be a customer for life! Cant wait to rip on my new rig! Thanks guys!

This year I moved from a touring/cruiser bike to a fitness bike with the help of Karrie and her team at Lucky Brake Bicycles. I found the staff to be VERY knowledgeable and super friendly. There always seems to be plenty of staff and technicians on hand to take care of any quick maintenance needs and questions. When I initially came in, James listened to what I wanted and made a great recommendation. I came back to have my bike fitted and clip-in pedals installed by Karrie. She is a wealth of information and experience, and I was really impressed with her technical knowledge of biking and how to get the most from your ride. Not only did I get a bike there but Ive found it to be a very welcoming community of cyclists. Since May I have enjoyed participating in the Lucky Brake no-drop group bike rides each week. Ive met a lot of nice folks who share my passion and are very encouraging. I learn something new each ride and have increased my fitness level and the distance I can go. If you are looking for a new bike, a place to get your gear or a community of cyclist who share your love of biking stop in at Lucky Brake!
