Ever since the day I bought my first real bike at 9 years old, I have appreciated the quality, knowledge and service that comes with shopping at a local bike shop and Wheel Werks in Crystal Lake is no exception. The first thing you will notice is that Wheel Werks isnt like every other bike store. You wont find any kids bikes or even many bikes under $600, but what you will find are top quality bicycles with top tier service and knowledgable staff. Here is my Wheel Werks story: I purchased a 2011 Cannondale CAAD 10 4 from owner Bob Olsen in November 2010. Having already done my research on which bike I wanted, I verified some technical questions with Bob and was really surprised at how concerned Bob was with the fit of the bicycle. Most bike shops simply check your stand over height, and eyeball your knee angle. Not Bob, he got me up on a trainer and fitted me with a protractor, plumb bob and laser alignment. Good thing too, because I was going to purchase one frame size larger than what he recommended post-fit. After purchasing the bike, Bob had me come back with my shoes, pedals and shorts to have a more in depth fit, which is free with every bike purchase. He truly cares about giving every customer the best possible fit so they get the most enjoyment out of their bicycles. Almost a year later I am still completely satisfied, not only with the bike, but with the level of service Wheel Werks continues to provide. Any issues with my bike are fixed promptly and correctly, even if I have to endure a jibe or two from Bob and his staff. I will never purchase another road bike from anywhere else so long as Wheel Werks is around.
