For several reasons. First I was standing in the dealership for at least 5 min walking back and forth and not one sales person approached me. I approached two and asked if they were sales people. Randy said yes and we sat down at his desk. I said I am looking to purchase a Charger R/T MAX AWD, Torred w/ red roof and spoiler. I also told him I have a control number for friends and family program. He said he would be back. He came back with two cars that didnt match what I asked for. He said these are what we have. I said neither match what I am looking for. He then says the car doesnt come in a MAX. I said Im pretty sure that it does. I show it to him on the Dodge website using my cell phone. He says ok let me look again. He comes back again with two more cars that dont match what I want. Both of them have black roofs. I said neither match and he says I dont think you can get a red roof. I said yes you can. He leaves and comes back one last time and finally he has the right car. I said ok lets get the ball rolling I would like to purchase the car. I said to him I would like to get a car with less than 10 miles on the speedometer. He says impossible and goes on about how they have to drive and get the car and bring it back. I mentioned that the Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe that I was currently driving was flatbeded down from WI and told him it had 8 miles on it when I took possession. He was speechless. He then says his Mgnr Holly would have to help me because he wasnt familiar with control numbers and Holly was not working that day but he said that he would pass my contact info on to her and she would call the following day. He said that he was off the next day but would make sure she got the message. I said if I dont hear from her by 1100 I would call her. The next day comes and 1100 comes and goes and I didnt hear back from Holly. I call Holly around 2pm and told her about my disappointing experience with Randy and she was apologetic and said she would speak with him to get the details. However, I told everything that I told Randy. Randy never gave her the message. When I come to the part about putting the car on the flatbed and under 10 miles she said that wasnt going to be possible. I said the Dodge dealership that I purchased my R/T Stratus from did it and why couldnt they do it as well. I mentioned to her that if they cant just call me back and I will go back to that dealership that did it for me. She said she would call me back. Holly called me back around 730 or 8pm and told me they have the car but would not be able to put the car on a flatbed and deliver it to me. I said thank you and that I would take my business back to the Dodge dealership on the northside of Chicago. My experience at the dealership where I bought my Charger R/T with everything that I wanted was the complete opposite. Five steps into the dealership I was met by a nice and friendly sales person who knew the product and didnt debate me about the different models or options. That was on 12/27 and I picked up the car on 1/2. I only went to this dealership because it was the closest to my house. I wont recommend them to anyone and I certainly will not be giving them any of my business. Thanks for this opportunity to share my disappointing experience with this dealership and I hope that this information will be used in a way that will help them provide a better customer experience.

Another scam dealer listing used 2010 Chargers for ridiculous prices like $7,000 when they have no intention of dealing for that price. After talking with the web rep he told me all the fees up front so all I had to do was walk into the dealership and check out the car. I go to the dealership and they dont even let me look at the car before running my financials including a credit check. The internet was down and the crappy salesman didnt believe a word I said, even questioning me on minor details about my job like what suburbs I go out to, all while giving me shifty eyes. We sat there for over an hour while he just bounced around chatting with people, not even daring to make a move without proof that I could afford a $7k car. No offer of refreshments or apologies, nothing. They were doing the same to other people and customers were very frustrated, some even walking out after 30 minutes. The employees were totally unprofessional, cursing outloud (I heard A LOT of "motherf$*&@@%" and "f&^$ this sh&*"). There were a few conservative religious people in there including my aunt a long with some kids which forced one guy to apologize for his language. I toughed it out for an hour and he finally tells me that "the car you wanted has a low battery and somethings wrong with the door"? I should have walked out then since he was about to do an obvious bait and switch, but I stayed. He brings out another 2010 Charger, this one is blue with leather seats, a flat tire and rust all over the wheels. I immediately noticed the $13,995 sticker price on this car, double what I was going for. I ask him about it and his response? "Dont worry about it, Ill take it down in the discounts." Take note this is a used car, he cant discount it (I was even told over the phone no discounts on used cars) so thats an obvious lie. I ask him to go over the financials so that we can see the final price BEFORE I go any further. He refuses and instead gets angry and pretty much yells at us for the next 10 minutes (because he feels disrespected and oh how much work he did for us LOL) before calling his manager over to try and sell us on it. At this point the dealership is 20 minutes away from closing, we havent even figured out if I was approved for the financing or not, and Im getting baited so I tell him no and leave. Oh and a 2010 charger is worth $11K NOT $14K. Plus on their website it said $9K for that specific charger. THEY THOUGHT I WAS A NEWBIE TO THE CAR GAME AND TRIED TO RIP ME OFF. Avoid this dealership. Oh did I mention the overpriced $14K used Charger had an AS-IS agreement with it? Meaning if anything happened after I drove off the lot they wouldnt be responsible. Bunch of scam artists.

I recently had the worst experience ever at this dealership. From the moment my husband and I sat down with the sales consultant, Robert, we were disrespected. Robert immediately asked for our social security numbers to run our credit before we even looked at a vehicle. When he started telling the MSRP on one vehicle, I mentioned that I saw there were rebates on that vehicle online. His response was “that those don’t matter because you won’t qualify for any.” Upon telling him I was an accountant, he made a smart remark saying “how can I be an accountant and not know the year to date earnings that is listed on my pay stub.” I then told him I would like to have navigation in my vehicle. His response was “why do you need navigation? You can just use your phone. It’s just a distraction having navigation in the dash.” I thought as a customer, a salesperson’s job is to look for a vehicle that matches your wants and needs. I guess this is not the case at South Chicago Dodge. The fact that we have previously purchased two vehicles from them in the past did not change his condescending tone and rude comments. After they appraised my car, Robert walked over to the table we were seated at and blurted out “your note will be $1000 a month. Can you pay that?” They calculated a payment when I hadn’t even selected a vehicle. That’s when he gave me the lowball amount they wanted to give me for my trade in. I had enough at this point and told him no thank you and that I felt he was a very rude and disrespectful person. He did not apologize and no one from the staff, managers included, even stepped over to diffuse the situation. All they did was hand me my keys, without even inquiring what was going on. In the over an hour time at this dealership, the only thing we got to do was look through the window of one vehicle outside. He never allowed us to do a test drive, but kept asking do I like the car. I have purchased many cars in the past and have never been treated so terribly. So if you goal is to spend your money with people who will treat you with dignity, you will not succeed at SOUTH CHICAGO DODGE!
