Just moved to Pilsen and got a flat tire on my back wheel on my way to work. I stopped by this shop on the way home to get it fixed because it was near my apartment. I had seen the negative reviews but decided to take my chances that they were just a few bad experiences. It was only $10 to fix the flat, so the price was reasonable. The service, however, was questionable. The first red flag came from the fact that the mechanics there looked like they were all in high school. Im sure there are kids out there that are very knowledgeable on fixing bikes, but the kid that fixed my wheel obviously wasnt. When riding home I noticed some irregularity on my back tire and I stopped to look at it. Im not sure what hed done to fix my flat, but the tube was bulbous in one area and was rubbing up against my back brake each time it spun around. Being tired from work and far enough from the shop to not want to go back I decided I would just eat the 10 dollars and take it to a real shop in the next few days. I ended up loosening my back brake and made it through the next day riding to and from work. The day after I decided to go to Irvs Bike Shop because I had heard good things. On my way there my tire blew out, meaning I paid $10 at Pilsen Bikes for a shoddy job and 1 day of use from that "fixed" flat. I got a new tire for a reasonable price of around $40 including labor at Irvs. I would recommend you avoid this place and go there, or any other bike shop in Pilsen for that matter.

Horrible bike shop, I had a sidewall bust on my while riding in the area and had heard from another rider that this was the closest bike shop. I had went in to buy a tire and seen that they were marked 15$ and hanging on a hook. The employee had walked up and seen that I had a busted sidewall and asked what size I needed. I had pointed and said 27 x 1 1/4. He grabbed the tire for me and said 20$. I asked if he was sure the tire was 20$, he looked puzzled said yes, I asked if they ran out of 15$ tires, he mumbled something about sizes. I bought it and left, dude gave me a hand written receipt. Later had noticed that the label had painters tape with the shops price written in marker (15$). Normally I would not care about 5$, but the tire was garbage quality and this shop price gouged me when they knew I needed a tire. That is the sad part. Im sure they cheat on their taxes, no bar code scanner in the shop, and shady receipts. Avoid this shop, they are swindlers. Go to a reputable shop

I got a flat tire heading to work. Unfortunately, this bike shop was closest at the moment. I usually go to Irvs but it was too far to go there considering I had to get to work. You can tell the guy there was shady as soon as you walk in. Ive been getting flats so I just decided to get a new tire and tube. However, to my shocking discovery. They ended me charging me 70 bucks for only those two things. Out of desperation I had to pay it and get to work. I never planned to go there but I had to this one occasion. Btw after the repair he tells me to come back whenever Im ready because my axel is broken but Im pretty sure he did something to it because my tire wasnt wobbly at all before I brought my bike in. I just wish I knew a little more about bikes in order to catch him in the act.

Funky hours for sure. If you come by at a time when they are open it isnt too bad. I have gone here for inner tubes and new tires. Pretty good prices. Never had any repairs done here. Staff is direct and to the point.

They are not responsible. They say it opens at 10am and its about to be 12pm and still dont open. Dont recommend a place that is not responsible of their own business. There was 4 other people and myself waiting.
