so i went here hoping to have an amazing first tattoo experience. i heard that jade dragon was the best place to go- clean, experienced, professional, talented. i went in with 2 of my best friend and i had an idea to get lyrics of a song tattooed across my ribs. i was greeted by a not so friendly receptionist...obviously i was nervous seeing at though its my first tattoo and its going across my ribs. so she asked what i wanted and i handed her the lyrics and then she asked me what font i wanted. i asked if they had a book of fonts to look through and she handed me a book. i looked through it and picked the one i loved the most. i then went back to the front desk where one artist was waiting and he asked about what i wanted and was friendly and nice and interested in doing my piece. i explained to him exactly what i wanted and he took a long time to think about doing it. but he eventually decided not to stay and do it because his shift was ending. the receptionist lady then told me my tattoo would cost $380!!! i knew it wasnt going to be cheap but i was quoted $150 and $180 at 2 other shops and wasnt expecting that much but decided if it was going to be a quality tattoo and if i loved his sketch then id pay. I asked them to draw up the sketch but then she told me there would be a charge of $40 just to have him draw it up!! I wanted to see what they came up with so i went ahead and paid the $40 because they said it would go towards the cost of the tattoo anyway. so she told us to come back in 45 minutes while another artist (who i never talked to or even got his name) drew up the sketch. i came back in about 50 minutes later only to see the lyrics i printed and the font book still sitting on the front desk- not even touched yet. so she told us to take a seat while he "finished up". another 45 minutes later, a man walked up to the desk, turned to me and just said "come look at this." i was kinda shocked at how unfriendly he was, seeing as though i didnt even meet him yet. i immediately hated the sketch because it was nothing how i explained (because i didnt even get a chance to talk to him before!) i decided to hold up the design to my ribs for a bit and talk to him to see if he could change it. he was certain it couldnt be changed to how i wanted it and was trying to convince me it was perfect the way it was. after a few minutes i also notices one of the words was misspelled!! he didnt even care and just acted like it was nothing. i decided not to get the tattoo because of his unwillingness to change the design and the RIDICULOUS price they quoted me. i will not be going back here because they charge way too much money and werent very friendly.

I went to get my tattoo done about a year ago and to this day Im still regretting that I went to Jade. Part because the way my service was rushed here. The tattoo guy doing what HE wanted and since it was my first tattoo I was very naive. Heres my story: I went to Jade and told them what I wanted. A tatted quote with leaves tattooed around it right between my shoulder and my neck. However, I specifically told the guy right off the bat that I did not want it on my neck at all. I cant remember the guys name but he had curly hair and was somewhat tanned from what I remember. Major attitude problem. He said the design he could come up with was very similar to one he did a week before instead of making it personable to me. I should have ran out at this point and I blame myself. Anyways then they asked me for a $50 deposit which I paid and told me tomorrow Id pay the balance of $350. When I came in the next day they bumped it up to $400 and I ended up paying a total of $450 for my tattoo! I figured I would get what I pay for especially since I wanted the tattoo in such a visible spot. Turns out he drew the design a little too big and when I previewed it on my neck he said "Well we could just cut some leaves off".. Obviously I didnt pay $450 to just "cut some leaves off" so he ended up tattooing some of the design on my neck.. the whole time he was talking about this family dinner he had to go to and basically was rushing to get the tattoo done. He also kept pushing me to get the design how he wanted instead of just doing his damn job. Not to mention he missed a spot. Very unprofessional and it was my first tattoo and it sucks this was the experience I had. Never again.

Terrible terrible place and completely unprofessional and untrustworthy. Every time Ive come here theyve given me a different "minimum" first it was 50, then it was 60 and the last time I went to get something done they said the minimum was 80. Recently got a small tattoo on my finger and it didnt heal right, half of it came off, they did say there could be some complications with finger tattoos but didnt tell me until after the fact once my tattoo came off and I called that "yeah they never really stick" thanks that would have been nice to know. saying "there could be complications" doesnt really tell me that my tattoo is just gonna fall off. after that, on the phone the lady said "just come in and well fix it for you for free" and i was like cool! Drove an hour to get here, I go inside, mind you, i was there a little early and the lady came and let me in but said "im letting you in but we dont open til 12" so she literally doesnt say a word to me until 12 exactly, no customer service whatsoever. and then I told her that i came to get it redone and she goes "well you have to get it redone with the guy that tattooed it in the first place" ok that would have been nice to know when i called ahead of time asking about it so that i didnt drive here for no reason just to be told that I cant get it done because he isnt there. Will never come here again.

I was in Chicago for work and decided to get my third tattoo (I get one in diff states). I looked up Jade Dragon and went there at midnight with my girls who all decided to get tattoos as well. The place is clean and more importantly, the guys are respectable. I was wearing a dress and wanted a tat on my back and they sent me in the back room so that no one would se my panties. But I didnt care anyway. I gave the guy a picture of the tattoo I wanted and he draws it out. I told him I wanted it small and he made it smaller. I told him I wanted it to overlap my old tat and he was able to do that too. When I got my tat done, it hurt like a muther!!! My other tattoos never hurt much at all but I guess since this was a colored tattoo, it hurt more. He told me it would take about 30-60 minutes to complete but because I was so still, he was able to finish it in 20 minutes! Great job! Afterwards, I was totally shaking and my teeth were chattering and he said it was just an adrenaline rush and he gave me a shirt to put on to keep warm and to keep as a souvenir. My girl friends tattoos all turned out just the way they wanted it and we were happy with how we were treated and all the souvenirs they gave us. Great job! Im surprised this place doesnt have higher ratings.
