My experience at Economy Auto Mart was bittersweet, sub-par, and towards the end, piss-poor at best. About a month and a half ago, I decided to seek out financing vehicle whilst in an active Chapter 13 BK. I am quite versed and familiar with the lengthy process (as now, I know what to look out for, as well as what to expect) of approval or disapproval on an auto loan, which is why I had to do some research. Back on September, I had lost my 2014 Prius to the bank, to which I was forced to consider financing a vehicle, or opt out third party, no strings attached cash on the table....to which I tried both options. Being so early into the bankrupcy, I couldnt attain financing from any dealership, so I had to go with the latter, and get a 03 Jetta, in unsatisfactory conditions...fast forward to today, I put in close to 2600 in repairs, and maintenance, more than what I purchased the vehicle for...as you can guess, this is where Economy Auto Mart comes in. I applied to get pre-approved via online, and then I spoke with Humberto, to get financial final approval. Super informative, he laid out my options, I told him I could do up to about 1000 down, and assured my approval with me, 100%. All that needed to get done was to get court approval, which I did! 350 a month, at 23% APR, no more than 13,000 and some change in financing a vehicle...I stayed in contact and communication with him throughout waiting the court approval process, to which again, he assured me that everything would fall into place. Once we had the green light with the court, i presented this with Humberto, and he had stated that himself and Michelle would "play with numbers", and come up with a list of potential feasible vehicles. This is where everything went downhill. Communication fell through, and I had to literally BEG for in update with my case. Michelle was unorganized, and she sounded rushed everytime I would try to communicate with her, and could not provide me with any usable information. She didnt educate herself with my case, and her go to phrase was "Humberto would know better". Humberto assured me that the owner was getting a shipment of "new vehicles that would work with my case"...that was a lie. I feel lied to, confused, disappointed, aggravated, and embarrassed. You cant buy wasted time back, and I wish things wouldve gone better. This was my experience with the company, Im not speaking for others, however, stay clear. BKs should change the quality of life, not hinder you. I thought EAM would be able to assist me, to which from the beginning they assured me they would. Instead I got a text stating that the show was cancelled. Come on Michelle and Humberto, you have a reputation to uphold and this is the way you handle it? I believed in you two. See this text below from Humberto - "Ok great from now until Saturday I will stay on top of Michelle to give me a better idea of what works so I can at least send some pics" A day later he texts me this: "Hello, Mr. Andrew I hope everything is okay. I have some really bad news man that APPROVAL even with the G down wont work for even the cheapest car we have. Im so sorry but its out of my control. Michelle tried every car that looks like it would come close and nothing works. This is why I said thing should have been done sooner. Your APPROVAL is still good from the court and from the finance company if you find a place who has cheaper cars. Again Im sorry try a dealer close to you and have them run your credit to find out the last company I sent it to and have them submit it to them to get the same APPROVAL. Sorry bro" As well as; "Man Andrew you should have just took my advice last message I sent before Michelle got your hopes up"

I am going bankrupt. When I received a notice in the mail from a couple of different places, about helping get a chance on a car. EAM was not the first place I called. Although they were the first not to give me a runaround. They were very busy that day. So Mike the owner took my call. He answered all my questions I had on the process. He was NOT your typical car salesman. He seemed genuine as a person. After our 37min conversation he told me he was going to pass on my information to his finance person and she would call me back. Now I received a call the next day at about 3pm. She told me over the phone that I was approved. I asked what time are they open till she said 7pm. Now I love in Milwaukee. I got done with work at 5pm. Plenty of time to get there right not in Chicago traffic sorry but thats hell. I got there at quarter to 7 they didnt shut their doors. I test drove to vehicles sign the paperwork and left that night at 10 with a vehicle. I have never seen a sales team or an owner take pride and ownership and genuinely proud of what they do. Thank you Economy Auto Mart and my 2013 Nissan Altima fully loaded is one of the best rides Ive ever had. Thank you Mike and that guy is way down Earth

Placed an application with hopes of getting financed. Recieved a call last night from Michelle , who seemed very professional and straight foward. She informed me it was late in the evening, and how her finance manager has already left for the day. She asked if I could fax over my paystubs in the AM "Which I have done so", and she would run everything and get back to me with a answer. Well called twice this morning, at first she was not in, the second time i was transferred over to her , which she answered and said she was busy on another call and could I hold. I stated yes, was on a brief hold, when she had someone else come on the line and tell me she was busy on another call, and she would call me back.Well im still waiting, if she was busy on another call why even accept anothet call, place a person on hold, to have someone else chime in to tell me you are busy on another call. With all these great reviews im in hopes I could delete my negative one, for a better experience. Im a big girl I can accept if im not able to get financing, just hope I dont have to call again to get a simple yes or no. Will ne back to let you guys know what happens.

My husband and I went I last Friday thinking there as no way we were going to leave with a car! We just filed for a chapter 7 bankruptcy and our attorney gave us a list of dealers that work with bankruptcies, we contacted the entire list and every single place wanted 1000-3500 dollars down! they didnt understand the fact that i filed for bankruptcy, so where the hell am i going to get that kind of money. My husband and I are both employed and make ok money, which was not a problem at economy. We also didnt get screwed over on our car payment, everything was reasonable. I had to pay for plates and all that and insurance but that was it! Michelle really helped us out. AND THEY DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Also a plus was her adorable pup bear! We absolutely loved him. All in all it was a great experience and just when i thought we would have to take the bus forever, i called economy and they had us come down and really saved us. thank you guys so much, everyone was really helpful and nice. We plan on bringing our pup to play with bear in the near future! Thank you again, you guys are a life saver!
