What a fantastic experience I had here! This Barneys is the closest boutique store to me that carries Manolo Blahnik shoes. I went on a lovely snipe hunt this past Sunday afternoon trying to find them - first to Milwaukee, WI at the new Nordstrom that opened up, and let me just say, that was not a pleasant experience. The associate stood in the middle of the floor with a pink balloon and a microphone and was handing out numbers to customers - and I would be number 30. Then I found out they didnt even carry the shoes. So off we went to Chicago, and I called up Barneys. Thank goodness they had the shoes. When I walked in, I was greeted by a sales associate who asked how my day was going. "Great, now that Im here!" I responded. She laughed and said, "Well, if thats all it takes is coming here, Im happy!" I told her I was looking for the shoes, and she said shed get someone to help me. It was a few minutes, and it must have been some sort of miscommunication because another customer was helped before me and they seemed short-staffed in the shoe department? Nevertheless, when I was helped, I received great service. She found me the right size, offered to get me another size when I wasnt sure about the fit, and seemed delighted that my wedding was in three weeks and genuinely excited and happy for me (not just into the commission, etc.). Not only that, but she helped me find a white dress to try on with both colors of shoes I was interested in to make sure I got the color I wanted. She gave me her card after the sale. Mimi was delightful to work with. I will definitely be coming back to this location when I am in Chicago.

If I can give a zero star I would. I have never returned anything at Barneys before so not really familiar with their return policy. Besides, I would expect they have similar policy as other luxury department stores like Neiman, Saks and Nordstrom. I bought quite a bit of makeup last weekend and 2 of the items didnt work as I expected. E.g. the Chantecaille eye makeup remover doesnt remove my Urban Decay eye liner and simply leave a mess! I decided to stop by to return them 2 days later and came to know they do not take back any makeup/skincare that has been opened??!! How absurd? I have never heard of a policy so illogical, especially for skincare/etc. What if the customer has bad reaction to the products? The beauty floor manager wasnt there and the first floor manager came down to "explain" their policy and states that the policy is printed behind their receipt?? Who read receipt when they buy products at a luxury store?? I expect Barneys has the same type of customer service from Nordstrom, Neiman and Sephora. Even Ulta takes things back without any question asked. I will never step back there ever.

Purchased $1200 in merchandise on a Sunday to have shipped from Chicago to Milwaukee the next day. Called Wednesday to get update-30 minutes on hold with no answer. Called Thursday and was promised a call back with an answer within 30 minutes. Never received a call. Called Friday to speak with a manager. Over an hour later received return call stating package JUST shipped Thursday and would receive by Saturday! No apologies or anything. TERRIBLE SERVICE. No wonder online competition is shutting down retail stores that have such poor customer service. Never would have expected this from Barneys. IF package ever arrives, I will immediately send back for refund. Complete waste of my time. Back to online shopping!

Absolutely LOVE this store (and Todd) and their ability to ship to me in Michigan. I stopped in while in town to pick up designer fragrances were unable to purchase locally (Comme des Garcon and LArtisan Parfumeur). Todd shared his time and a wealth of knowledge about fragrances which we were much appreciative of. This location and their attention to the customer is top-notch!

This is probably one of the best Barneys New Yor around. They always have different items than other Barneys New Yor and their prices are lower than others for some reason, maybe necause of the area. Even when Im not shopping Ill take a stroll w my daughter just to get out of the house if its too hot. I always end up gettiing her aittlw something, lol!!

I like this store. love their second floor designer sections. You need to go there for sales though as you can imagine the price..I like their baby selections even though it is small merchandising. The restaurants that was opened by barneys son is ok. worth it to check it out or for real casual brunch is ok

So I dont know if I am even qualified to review this place. Its upscale beyond my ability to comprehend. But my wife and daughter found everything to be simply amazing (if not overpriced for my taste ;). Service was exceptional and not pretentious. And the restaurant on the top floor is also very nice.

Best place to shop in Chicago. You can find Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Thom Browne... those kind of high quality fashion luxury wear here. People here are nice and willing to help you. Moreover, they also carry some less pricy brand such as T by Alexander Wang and Rag and Bone.

I had a return from the LA store. Sales associate was very rude as well as accusing. Such a turn off to shop in this store. Bad customer service. He tried to give me a store credit when I paid with my AX and it was within the 30 days of there return policy.

Walked into this place & my fiancé & I werent greeted until we got to the 4th floor where there were a few other blacks. Everyone else just looked at us turned up their noses & continued about their day! First & last time here! Awful experience!
