First off, this location does not even deserve the one star I am giving it today. I recently went in to buy a new sofa for my living area. The in-store experience was ok–my horror story begins at the delivery stage of my purchase. Two delivery men arrived to my home without boot covers (and I should mention that there was snow outside and the ground was muddy and wet). I had to ask them if they needed boot covers and they took the ones that I provided them. Imagine if they didnt have any on? They wouldve stained my carpet with their wet shoes–just the thought of this gives me chills. Next, these men bring in the couch which is only half covered with a tarp. The other ends of the two sofas were left exposed. Once they set the sofa down, I immediately noticed the wooden border was chipped in various places. They said someone could come out and cover it up for me (please see photos attached). However, they failed to mention that in moving the furniture they completely dirtied the edge of one of the couches. It was completely scuffed– it looked as though Id had these couches for years. Additionally, the seam in one of the cushions was not sewn all the way and the inside materials were poking through the surface (see photo attached). I was absolutely horrified when they left and very upset that I waited two weeks for these couches just so they could arrive damaged and filthy. Oh, but it doesnt end there, upon leaving the delivery men asked me if they could keep the boot covers. Obviously, I let them keep them, but the fact that these deliverymen do not carry these items is beyond ridiculous. I cant imagine how many houses they walk into with their dirty shoes dripping mud and water all over the house. Moreover, when I called to resolve the issue customer service was not apologetic at all. The Manager could care less and merely offered to pick up the couch and send me another. However, I was not going to go through the same process again. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund on my purchase and the couches were taken away. What really bothers me is the complete waste of time and energy shopping here. Having to wait so long for your furniture only to find that it is damaged is the worst feeling and customer service did not make my experience any better. I received a refund for my purchase but they should have refunded me for the time I expended taking days off from work to (1) go in and make the purchase and (2) wait for the deliverymen to arrive to my home. I urge you to not waste your time here, but if you do, pick up your items yourself. The delivery staff are savages with the furniture.

I went online to search for a sofa set for my living room and found one I liked. I went into the store to see if I could find it and make a purchase. The guy who helped us was new and had to had a manager help him with our checkout. I did not mind this because everyone needs to be trained at some point. The manager even took off some of the bill because we were there for over an hour. My problem is that when I arrived at the store I found my exact couch( color and all) and on the label it had the brand name as colton black. I asked the new guy if this was the brand name or the color of the couch. He told me it was the brand name. I was very skeptical because I did not want a black couch, i wanted the tan one that was in the store. When the manager came by and helped the new guy i asked him if i was getting the right couch and color. He said yes, that i was getting the tan color and the colton black was just the brand. I believed him. The couch took 10 days to arrive at my new apartment and when it did it was a black leather couch. The delivery guys told me those are the colton black and the ones i was looking for were a different name. I went straight to the store to get this straightened out. When i explained he said he could not do anything until the truck came back. I then get a call that says they will deliver my correct couches in 9 days!! I have to wait that long for the couches I ordered over 10 days ago and I do not receive any sort of compensation for this? Are you kidding me? if i have to wait 20 days for my couches to be delivered you better believe i will be getting something back! Just wait until I call corporate.

Avoid this location like the plague! We bought a reclining sofa last year with the extended warranty. The sofa stopped working mid-february this year. I had to call both the store and corporate on NUMEROUS occasions just to find out when the part to fix my sofa would arrive. On the work order, the guy who checked out my sofa didnt even write the specific part needed, and when he was here he seemed completely clueless. Customer service said it was most likely new cup holders. They said the part was on a shipment and would arrive late May. It is already late June. I called again and lo and behold, its not going to arrive until AUGUST! That is six months of having a sofa that doesnt work, and waiting for a part that may or may not be correct! I doubt that they even ordered anything to fix my sofa because they just dont want to deal with such an issue. I am beyond disappointed with the customer service and their lack of organization. Ive been nothing but patient and nice with them while theyve been "trying" to figure out the issue. Now Im just infuriated. Think twice before you shop here.

I went into this store today, and I have never been so insulted. First, I walked around for 20 mins and several sales people saw me and didnt say a word to me. Finally somebody approached me and asked if I needed help. I showed him a picture of a bedroom set I wanted to purchase. He said, oh yes, we have that. He then said, I had a woman in here like you. Nobody would help her, but I helped her, and she spent $4000.00. I know what he was getting at with the "like you" comment, as I am a minority. Whatever. We get over to the bedroom set, I told him that I was moving in a couple weeks, and I had 4 bedrooms to furnish. He then asked me how much did I pay for my house. I was so out done, I just left the store. I will be calling the corporate office tomorrow to complain. VERY OFFENDED!

Not worth the hassle to shop with value city, I ordered couch and ottoman, dinning set and recliner. Deliver was going to be 3 weeks away but decided to get anyway. Wanted it in 3 weeks for a event at my house, and sold my old furniture, the. They called me 1 week before delivery to tell me it will be 3 more weeks my items were on back order, false advertisement saying I can get it by a certain day. If I knew I would have never ordered. Now I will be with out furniture for over 1 month and for my special event at my house. This company is all false advertising dont buy. No discount for the hassle or apology.
