Ok so I got my wedding dress from here for my May 1 2011 wedding. Both myself and my best friend are getting married this year so we kind of use the same vendors for both our weddings. I found my dress there (which I love) and she found a dress there she somewhat liked. So we went there together one day after both had visited the store with out moms. So we wanted to show each other how our dresses looked in person and to get each others opinion. When we walked in the sales ladies recognized us and asked my friend were was her mom??? My friend said " well I wanted my BF to see me in it and give her opinion. So the lady says well I dont want to see your friend I want to see your mom!!" While she was talking to that sales lady I was explaining the same thing to another lady stating I wanted her to see my dress, see me in it before I make the final decision. I was told that didnt make sense but whatever then she says "Well lets go play dress up!". When I got home I sent a very long email explaining my fustration. Now we, myself and my bff look pretty young. I am 29 she is 28 but we are always being told we look to young for this and that. So maybe they didnt take us serious but I think the rocks on both of our hands would have shown our intent as well as the fact that she knew both of us had come into the store just days before on seperate trips with our moms. So after my email I recieved a call from the store manager saying she wanted to apologize and that isnt the way they treat their customers etc, etc, etc. I told her I dont care if we came in there everyday to try on dresses until the day before our wedding this is our day and everything should be smooth sailing especially when we are spending our money. She was so nice, extra understanding she said she would personally handle me going forward. So I went back everything was cool. I purchased my dress and my cousin went next door to Davids Bridal!! So after getting my dress home I started to think about the wrinkles and I went to my local cleaners and was told the bridal shop should steam press my wedding dress for free especially since I got it from there. So I called my BFF to ask if Davids will steam her dress she said yes for FREE!! So I called HOB and was told it would be a charge of $75 to steam my dress that was delievered to me wrinkled. They said if you get alterations through them (which are over $300) then the steam press would be free. My dress fits perfect no alterations needed in my opinion so when I told them this they said well it will be $75!!! I asked for the manager. The same manager that called and was so nice was the same manager that told me when I said well Davids Bridal doesnt charge their Brides or Bridesmaid (yes bridesmaid have to pay $40) to steam there dresses, she told me they werent Davids!!! Wow!! Now that you have my money you are nasty and rude!!! I then do what I do best, I sat down and wrote an extra long email to the same HOB store site to tell of my experience. This was in January, it is March and still no call or email!!! My wedding is May 1 and it is still wrinkled, I of course will get it streamed but I will not by any means take my dress there!!! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I have to admit their dresses are the BOMB! they have a huge selection and works in everyones budget, but those extra little hidden fees are were they get you. I will post this message on every site I can to reach as many people as possible to make sure the words is out on how shady HOB is. Happy Shopping!! ************PS the comments about how they try to get you to purchase a bigger dress is so true but I refused to do it only because I am a numbers freak and I wont dare walk down the aisle in a dress numbered the size she claimed I needed. I had to sign a form stated I refused to get the recommended size. My dress fits like a glove!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I had the best experience at House of Brides Aurora. Everyone is amazing and I highly recommend purchasing your entire bridal party at House of Brides Aurora. I read several of the reviews below before visiting this salon and find it very hard to believe what is being said. I was prepared for the worst and just going to browse and get an idea of what I wanted. I made an appointment ahead of time, which is recommended in every bridal magazine and should be done by every new bride. (you should not get upset if the bridal store cannot accept your “walk in” appointment… MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, sorry a little side venting since I have seen this happen at more than one bridal salon). The service received was amazing. I found exactly what I wanted and was not pressured into buying. I came back a couple of weeks later and purchased my bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses. I was informed of all of the policies and procedures from here on out. Once again each bridal store I visited most had them clearly posted within their salon. I think all brides should take it among themselves to be informed of their purchase since it is a big one. If you do not know the policies ASK! Most bridal salons do not allow you to cancel or return any item. I would also highly recommend asking about alterations. I asked at every salon I visited what their base price for alterations was and what was and was not included in alterations such as steaming if no alterations where needed. Most salons I visited all had a base price which was pretty comparable and did not include steaming if no alterations where needed. This was an additional fee. The only place I found that sometimes included steaming was David’s Bridal but I got two different answers from two different salons so I am unsure what there policy actually was since they themselves did not seem to know. Just an FYI the base price more most alterations were between 265.00 and 525.00 (a big variation but I think it depends as to where you purchase). I would highly recommend House of Brides. They are friendly, outgoing, and want to make your day special. I have had a great experience. My dress is amazing, my bridesmaids look fantastic, my flower girls looks so adorable, and my mother and soon to be mother-in-law look outstanding. We could not be happier with our overall service. Thanks House of Brides!!!

Please do not waste your time giving business to this company. Unfortunately, all the reviews you have probably read online are definitely true. Not only are most of the employees unprofessional, but management and the owners are as well. They do not hold true to any of their standards and will deliberately lie and avoid customers just to save their own name. I was a loyal employee for three years at the Aurora salon and was treated with disrespect and hate . I was told by management to pretty much bend the truth in order to save the companys already bad reputation. I, myself, got engaged this past July and as an employee found a sample dress that was discontinued that I was absolutely in love with. I decided to put the dress in our stock room with MY NAME, MY WEDDING DATE and "ON HOLD FOR JGS" on the gown and expected it to be safe AS AN EMPLOYEE for the company. Due to the childish and malicious behavior of an employee named Diana, she sold my gown on purpose out of whatever spite she had for me. You would think that being an employee who follows the rules and has given the last three years of their professional career to this company, this would be addressed and taken care of. Well, it WAS NOT. After approaching the owner of this company over the issue of my wedding dress being sold right from underneath my nose, my job was threatened. Instead of taking the initiative to fix the problem or to confront Diana, I received a voice mail that I was not allowed back into the Aurora salon. Pretty much, I was essentially let go because someone else decided to sell my wedding gown and naturally I was upset and tried to get the owner to fix the problem and instead of fixing the issue, it was easier to get rid of me. This company is unreliable, unprofessional and their ethics of how to do business is completely screwed up. Do not let them mess up one of the most important days of your life.
