Terrible service and they lie. DO NOT GO THERE! Check engine light comes on for the first time ever and the car is having other issues. I came in, they give my an estimate for said issue and tires. Ok fine. On the sheet it had services I absolutely needed to fix my car and services they just recommend. At the time I didnt have much money, so I asked to make sure that I only needed the stuff they said was dire. They said I had to have it done to fix the car and the rest was just maintenance; naturally the more expensive service was the one I needed. So I got it and the tires done. I sat up there a good part of the day, then they told me it would be ready at 6pm. Came back, theyre trying to order a go pick up a part. I sat there until almost midnight. Literally the same night the light comes back on while driving it less than 5 miles home. Take it back the next day, they swear it was supposed to be ok, said whatever it is I wont have to pay again because its on them to fix it. They tweak something else and it drives ok for maybe a few days, then the light comes on again. Take it up there again - now the 3rd time - they say I need the other service done that was optional maintenance. When I tell them I was told I wouldnt have to pay anything, Im told I shouldve gotten everything done. The mechanic was nice enough to do part of the service without charging me and said it should run fine now. About week later, the issues start again. Because I just want it fixed, I pay for them to do the full service. Again, it drives ok for a week or two, then the issues start again. Take the car up there this time and they tell me theres another slew of issues thatll cost over $500 to fix. When I ask where this issue was before and why Im paying for it, Im told that it just recently happened and they cant predict when a part will fail. So magically this failed part has the exact same symptoms as the issue that was supposedly resolved. Told them Im not paying them anything else and havent been back since. Lies on top of lies and I wouldnt be surprised if they were purposely sabotaging vehicles to keep business going since theyre clearly not doing will. Now as for the employees: Meach the mechanic was nice and had no problem explaining stuff to me. I know hes likely just doing what hes told. Steven the manager was ok at first, but rude after he realized I wasnt going to keep paying for services. Albert the manager was just rude, rude, rude from the beginning. Very nasty attitude. He showed a lot of disdain for any woman that questioned charges. He did it to me and a woman at the counter while I was there. She demanded her car back and he treated her like she was crazy.

Husband Took my car in @ 10am today. Received a call from Ron after running a diagnostic test at 2pm telling him The car needed a water pump, thermostat, and serpentine belt. Cost would be 618.00. My grandfather loved Pep boys and always said they will never take advantage. ( rolling over in his grave) So we approved the cost and work to be done. Received a call @ 5:30 this evening , informing my husband car parts have been replaced. However running another diagnostic test, the car is now leaking like a siv from somewhere else. Why was this not discovered in the initial test? He also Asked my husband "what did you do to this thing?" My husband said I didnt do anything to it. The car was only leaking from the water pump when we brought it in. Why is it leaking somewhere else now? What did you do to it? Ron said well to fix the issue it cost an additional 800.00. Ugh We informed him We could not afford the additional cost. Why was this not noticed in the beginning? It would have saved everyone time and expense. He suggested We apply for a Pep Boys credit card. To pay the bill. No Thanks... Tomorrow I Will be picking up a non working vehicle. The work I approved for 618.00 I will pay for. But the car is not drivable and will have to be parked. This place is Not the place to go if you expect customer service, loyalty, and honesty.. RIP OFF. They see people who are desperate coming.. DO NOT take your car here. After the fact I am reading these reviews. Oh boy!!! I Will be contacting channel 5 Fox I-Team. Make sure my social media accounts have the warning!!!! Should have done some review reading before trusting this place !!!!!!

Took my sons car in April 2015 to have his breaks replaced on a 2004 S80 Volvo. Was told he needed special break pads and rotors and they were ordered. I had the break pads and rotors replaced and paid $730.00. All seemed well. I took the car back to get the oil changed and tires rotated at the same Pep Boys location and I was told the car was leaking fluids. I asked them to check suspension and rotate tires. I did not fix the leaks at that time. 2 weeks ago decided to get the car fixed because my son is going off the college soon. I decided to take this car to the Volvo dealership. Upon inspection there were several things wrong which I fixed. The surprise that I received is that the brake pads and rotors installed were the wrong size. Either the rotors were too small or the brake pads were too large and I had to replace them again. I paid $480 to replace with OEM Volvo parts. I am no mechanic and for a service department to install the wrong size brake pads and or rotors disturbs me greatly. Not only were they installed wrong, they were supposedly inspected during tire rotation. It has been less than a year and the dealership gave me the rotors and bake pads to try to get a refund. I will post again and report their reaction. Would you want to take your car back to a garage that was negligent not once but twice? There actions about this matter will affect any future business in the future. Im interested to see if anyone at Pep Boys cares enough to respond.

Great customer service. The service team was very thorough and educational. I came to get one tire changed. The manager, Steven Hicks inspected my tires and asked if my boyfriend and I would walk around the car with him. He pointed out that although we only wanted to change the one tire due to the obvious damage, the other three tires were also damaged and unsafe to drive on due to missing tread because the car needed a wheel alignment. After the visual inspection we decided to get all four tires replaced and a wheel alignment. Currently I have regular oil in my car. Steven explained the benefits of getting synthetic oil in my car. I only came in for a tire but Steven told me about additional service that would make my car run better. There was an issue with my oil pan due to the previous service that I had at a different place stripping the bolt. Steven and the tech that was working on the car showed me the issue and explained the problem. With the knowledge that they gave me I was able to speak with the other company to get the issue resolved. After speaking with the other company, he stated that he was glad they advised me to speak with them to resolve the issue and didnt try to force the bolt off because then they could have damaged the oil pan. This shows that the team here at this Pep Boys is skilled. I will be returning to get my oil changed to synthetic through Pep Boys this weekend. Excellent service. All of my future service will be complete through this Pep Boys.
