After a 15 year hiatus, I got the itch to get back into playing guitar. Despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews below, I swung into the Fayetteville store with my son. I was immediately greeted by a guy named Mack and offered assistance. I let him know I was just checking the place out. I wandered around for a while. The place was clean and well laid out with a wide selection different guitars. (They even had mandolins, banjos and "dobro" style resonators, which was great because I could teach my son about them and the difference vs a regular guitar.) Also, drums, pa and studio equipment. Though I hadnt intended to buy anything, I found a good deal on a Epiphone semi-solid body electric. I found Mack and made my purchase. He recommended a few accessories for my purchase - a stand and some strings (because you will have strings break on you, and if youre 18 miles from a music store... thats frustrating). He also pitched the extended purchase program, but I declined because my homeowners insurance would take care of any damage I do (like accidentally chucking it out the window in frustration). I can honestly say my shopping experience was pleasant, and Im happy with my purchase. Whatever the problem was before 2011 that caused all the bad reviews seen below, its been solved. Once I get my skills back up, Ill be back for a guitar for my son and possibly my daughter (they have the 4 string youth starter guitars in-stock, on hand and theyre good quality).

I went there on my birthday a few months ago and I was looking for an acoustic bass. After looking around, I discovered an Epiphone Les Paul red sunburst model and it was absolutely beautiful, and at such a fair price! After I snagged that up, I headed into the acoustic room. There were people practicing. The whole store is so alive and filled with music. I seek out an employee and he was the whole reason I am writing this review. Nicest guy you could find. I told him I was looking for an acoustic bass for around 200$. He pointed me to a pillar with many of them hanging up. I chose a Dean 4 stringer beige bass. He asked me what kind of music I was playing and I said Metallica. After some small talk about it he played a riff from Orion on it. My mom was dismayed and said the only reason she was spending the 500$ was because it was my birthday. After we checked out he asked me if I wanted some cases and I sadly had to refuse, but as we were leaving he walked us to the door while other employees waved us goodbye and wished me a happy birthday. This guitar center has a large variety, fair prices, nice employees, and great appeal. I recommend this to anybody.

All I have to say is that SEAN in the Keyboard Dept. SAVED the DAY! I was in the section browsing for a Yamaha YPG-235 for about 10min. I then started to look for a store associate to assist me....no one in sight on a rainy Sunday afternoon and the store was VIRTUALLY EMPTY. In comes SEAN who looked like he just got off of break because he was literally headed straight back to his dept in the Keyboard section and INSTANTLY asked me if I had been helped, when I said No, he looked concerned and puzzled like "are you serious?" and he right away offered his undivided attention and assistance and he gave me GREAT ADVICE on my purchase and even helped me pick out a Stand for my New Yamaha Keyboard. SEAN not only assisted me with the purchase, he checked me out and carried everything to my car and LOADED IT in the wet weather! Talk about WHITE GLOVE SERVICE! SEAN IS THE BEST THING IN FAYETTEVILLE, GA LOCATION. I will make sure if I need to go back, that he is working! Thanks SEAN!

We purchased guitars from Guitar Center in Denver when we lived there and never had a problem. Decided to order a "boxed" Epiphone Sheraton II Pro guitar since I did not want to pay full price for the display model with the ding on the body of the guitar. Was told that the shipment would take about 5 days. Received an email the next day saying the order was in. My wife went to pick it up and what did the store manager give her--yep, the display model with the clearly visible ding. Not even the box for the Sheraton II. Supposedly the central order fulfillment center said none were available in the warehouse. Spoke to the manager on the phone and got the "well, if you dont like it you can always bring it back in 45 days" mantra. Dont trust him, he might claim the ding is our fault. Wish I had gone to pick it up--better a disappointed son for Christmas with the promise of a new guitar on the way rather than a damaged present in-hand.

It was 10 minutes before closing time on a Monday when i arrived at the store, I needed a Roland TD-4kx2 Drum set, they only had the Display model left, I asked "Does it work?" and Jody at the drum section says Yeah! alright then, Jody spoke to the manager and he gave me a discount and two pairs of drum sticks, packed it all in a couple of boxes and carried to the parking lot and helped me loaded in the cab, He is really knowledgeable and professional, as well as all of the employes that helped me at the store, so far its been the best Guitar Center store I had the pleasure to shop at, I highly recommend it, thank you all for your help, Five Star Service! and on a side note... I left the store one hour after closing time... anyone would be frustrated by that but these guys were awesome and really professional all they way around.

I ordered an mbox mini package, and havent heard from them since i gave them my credit card # two weeks ago. Ive been on hold for the past 30 minutes listening to their awful music. After calling again and asking for the manager, i was finally able to gain some small amount of knowledge. Apparently, it took the factory 2 WEEKS to get a 1/4" cable for the package. I find it absolutely mind-boggling that a store touting itself as the GUITAR CENTER has to wait two weeks for a 1/4" cable. And what would have happened if i hadnt called? Would they have just taken my $400 called it a day? absolutely unbelievable.

Just purchased a small set up for sound. Workers very helpful, very informative. They answered a bunch of questions. Made great suggestions. Even since last year that I was looking to buy. Finally found what was needed. Was about to buy from another seller. But had a couple more questions which seller didnt answer or could not. So went to GC again brought in what I was working on. Gave me advice and pointers. Then said they could price match what I needed so I just purchased from GC better instead. They will see me a lot more often and a lot more of my business. Glad they have such great workers.

Visited the Fayette store earlier this morning and was interested in trying the RP-1000. The sales guy obviously did not wish to make a sell. I asked to have it set up in order to try it out but instead he read to me from the manual. I have read the manual, I have tried the RP-500, I have owned everything from the RP-1 to the GNX4. I wanted to hear the sounds and review the preset banks. But that was apparently too much trouble. End result...item on sale but still on the shelf. Great selling techniques.....surprising the store is still open.
