Rancho Algre is being run by money gouging liars. The "boarder’s barn" is one of the most disgusting barns I have ever seen or smelled. Horses will go months without bedding being changed. A light sprinkle of sawdust is put in the stalls to appear that fresh bedding has been added. Horses will go days without being turned out or exercised and will stand in their own feces and urine due to this lack of fresh bedding. I complained for months about the smell and high prices only to have lies told to my face of all the "sprucing up" that would be done to that barn. That barn has done nothing but slowly go down hill since the letting go of a great barn manager and since then havent been able to keep any consistent "barn manager" that had any kind of know-how what so ever in that place. The fencing is dangerous. The pastures arent kept up. The flies in the summer are ungodly. Horses are turned out into pastures with no water in the buckets or water that was filthy. Owners that would supply their own hay or feed would come up short on both and their horses would drop weight because they werent receiving the proper or any feed/hay. Tack has come up missing; my horse would show signs of being agitated or irritable after the staff had handled him. The owner Pilar Quinero, is a two faced, smiling, lying conniving business woman that only cares about the buck. She doesnt care about creating "a happy, fun, barn experience for the whole family". She cares about how she can get as much money out of you or how she can benefit from having you around. She will milk you dry and walk all over you. This is not a barn that is run by people that know anything about running a boarding facility or about breeding Paso Finos or the well being of animals in general. It is very sad to know that through all of this the only ones that suffer are the horses. This barn should have their license revoked and have animal cruelty charges placed on them for the conditions the horses have to stay in because they are too cheap to supply fill dirt for the stalls and change bedding on a regular basis in the "boarders barn". I would recommend that anyone looking to do any type of horse business to stay away from Rancho Alegre.

I am sorry to say that the negative reviews about this barn are all true. (Check out yahoo and kudzu reviews as well). I have seen trainer after trainer come and go due to their disgust with the owners dishonest business practices as well as their total disregard for the health and well being of the horses. Pilar and Juan leave their own horses confined to a stall for days on end with no turn-out, and just skip feeding altogether if they get behind financially. They also make a regular practice of using boarders horses for lessons and pony rides without the owners knowledge or permission. I wish someone would investigate and save those Paso Finos from the cruelty and neglect. Unfortunately Juan and Pilar are very sneaky about hiding their practices. I would love to rescue a horse but I wouldnt give those people a dime. Dont waste your time or money, or most importantly, your horses health.

My review is based on purchasing dairy/veggies/meat from Rancho Alegres "farm store" through Gwinnett Locally Grown. I dont know anything about the boarding that the other reviewers were complaining about - - in fact Ive never even seen horses there. The donkeys and cows all look content and well-fed though. In any case, I go there weekly and am happy with the quality of dairy, eggs, fruit, veggies and meat. The staff is friendly and I like being able to purchase from local farmers.

Rancho Alegre Farm has some of the best local and sustainable products in Gwinnett County. Their Gwinnett Locally Grown market allows people in the area to purchase products from many local vendors, which I love. I have tried their eggs, chickens, and produce, as well as get their raw milk (for pet consumption.) Very happy with the products so far! I have not booked their birthday party facility yet but would love to for my kids parties in the future.

I am so glad to have found this farm! I am a new customer as I am trying to feed my family organic, traditional foods. Pilar is able to source many products from local farmers and help sustain our local economy. We love the farm fresh eggs, raw milk, and the ability to get pastured meat! So much healthier! Thanks Rancho Alegre for all of your efforts and support of local farming!

Having attended and planned several events at Rancho Alegre, I just wanted to let others know what a wonderful meeting location. Esp for local food events. The quality of the food they sell is exceptional. The owners are wonderful to work with and always go the extra mile to ensure the success of any events held here. Kids also love to see the happy healthy animals on pasture.

They are the pickup location for "Gwinnett Locally Grown". I have only placed one order so far, and placing my second order this week. The website is easy to use, and the farm was easy to find. The products were delicious! I just wish it was closer to my home. I have to drive 40 minutes to get there, but its well worth it!

I have yet to understand why people say such hurtful things about this facility and this nice family. I couldnt be more impressed by the professionalism and the genuine concern that the owners show towards their boarders and their horses. From the pony parties to the farmers markets, they have got it going on!

I attended the Open Farm Day with my 2 year old son and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend it. It was very crowded, but the staff handled the unusual number of guests pretty well.
