I recently moved to Austell area and was in need of a pet groomer. Since PetSmart Austell was minutes away, I took my one year old puppy there for a bath and haircut. Dropped him off at 3pm. When I went to pick him up by 7:30pm, he was on the grooming table shaking like a leaf. His fur was completely shaved off! The operations manager Josh was at the table assisting the groomer who had my puppy’s left ear pinched tight in her left hand while scissoring away with the other. He broke the news to me that they had cut the puppy’s left ear. They assured me that it was just a small nip and there should be no cause for alarm. After about thirty minutes of trying to stop the bleeding but to no avail, they wrapped up the puppy’s head with bandage and sent us out of the door. As soon as we arrived home, my puppy managed to scratch off the bandage and vigorously shook his head in discomfort. Blood splattered all over himself, the carpet, walls, and my duvet cover! I immediately put him into the bathtub, tried to wipe the blood off of him, and rewrapped his head with the same bandage. Knowing the bandage wouldn’t stay up for long, I called the store in despair. An e-collar was given to get us through the night and we would go to their in store Banfield Pet Hospital for treatment in the morning. The treatment consisted of rebandaging the head, pain meds and antibiotics, and a follow up in a week. All signs indicated that my puppy was suffering. The meds gave him neon green diarrheas. He stopped eating, drinking, or attention seeking. He hid under the sofa and slept. His head and neck was wrapped so tight that when he slept he snored like a Banshee! Half way through the week, he began to whimper in agony. I assumed that the combination of warming weather and tight bandage had increased his discomfort. Only during the one week follow up, I came to realize the extent of this suffering. I was astonished to be informed by the vet that my puppy had also been suffering a severe ear infection! She knew when I brought him in a week ago but failed to bring it to my attention because she did not think it was a result of the injury, therefore, PetSmart wouldn’t have to pay for the treatment. Of course PetSmart agreed with the vet completely. I felt as if I were in a twilight zone where I took my sweet innocent puppy in for a simple grooming that turned into a ritual humiliation and torture by waterboarding, shaving, and cutting of the flesh! “Would you like to pay for the tests and treatments for the ear infection?” The vet’s proposition brought me back into reality. “No, thank you!” I picked up my puppy and bolted. “Have a nice day!” A cheerful cashier flashed a gleaming smile as I dashed through the front door clutching an injured naked puppy ripe with the stench of a severe ear infection.

August 05, 2017 @ 9:10am I took my Poo-Chon puppy Miss Coconut to the Petsmart at the 4155 Austell Rd Austell, GA 30106 location for the puppy training. "Jim" is the instructor for the class. Jim has a chocolate Retriver or Labrador "TJ" that he brings to work with him everyday. The class was to start at 9:30am. While we waited for the class to start we walked around the store to kill some time. My 10 year old son was with me and he had met Jim and TJ before. Jim took my son to the training station so he could play with TJ. A few minutes later I went to the training station because the class was about to start. Jim was standing outside of the training area assisting a customer. When Jim saw me he instructed me to take my pup inside and hed be right there. My son was still playing with TJ at the time. When we entered the area my son came over towards us. We (me and my pup) werent in there no more than a minute when TJ (weighing approximately 95-110lbs) viciously attacked my 12 lbs puppy! He growled and barked at her and grabbed her by her snout and shook her like a rag doll! My pup was petrified and suffered an eye injury from the bite. The manager "Josh" came over along with other people because of the loud commotion to see what was going on. Josh escorted us to the back where the hospital was located and had a Doctor check out my pups injuries. While we waited for the Doctor, I told my son to go get Miss Coconuts things. When my son returned he said Jim told him that TJ must have became jealous because he (my son) stopped playing with him when my pup and I entered the area. The Doctor took care of Miss Coconuts injuries and provided some medication for her eye and a cone for her neck so she cant rub her eye. On the way out of the store, Josh spoke with me and said he didnt understand why TJ was not in his crate if Jim was not in the training area. Josh also stated that Jim is required to be in the training area if his dog is out. My pup was so traumatized and whimpered all night! I will never go to another Petsmart!

went to have our lhaso apso groomed at this location many times. have always been satisfied until now. I specified how we wanted her cut. no different from all the other times. she had some matts but not enough, by our surprise and without anyones permission she was shaved!!! I had told several employees to be sure not to cut her short and even pointed to the sample on how much to cut. she has been very irritated to the point of crying when she sits down. The so called manager, Heather was very very rude and just had the nasty attitude of, oh well!!!! it will grow back. so all through Christmas she was very miserable and just looked pitiful. not once were we offered a refund or, just an apology would have been nice. They ended it by saying it was just a misunderstanding on my part. we live and learn every day but I never wanted it to be at the expense of our dog. Thanks for listening!!!

Ive been in this shop a couple of times and always had a good experience, but today was such a good experience that i ad to write a short review. I was looking for a "cone of shame" for my cat. I was looking around when i was approached by a smiling employee who asked me she could help me find anything. She immediately found what i was looking for and helped me look for a smaller one than the ones available. Afterwards she was able to answer all my questions about my pet and some of the other pets in my house, and when i asked about a product that she said that pet smart doesnt sell she was able to point me to a place where i could go pick it up. Fantastic knowledgeable helpful staff will have me coming back again. (i cant remember the name of the employee, but you know who you are)

Arrived at this location at 7:03 on a Sunday. Not realizing they had just closed until the door wouldnt open. After looking through the glass and seeing customers, I immediately called to see if someone could just get the one bag of cat food that I needed and I would gladly give them the cash and never step foot in the store. The guy Brian (or Bryant) proceeds to tell me that the registers had already been closed. I said "OK" but knowing Id definitely seen customers inside I waited in the parking lot. Sure enough, a whole TEN minutes later, out walks a woman and some children. I think the thing that angers me the most is that he deliberately lied to me!! I refuse to give them a dime of my money now.
