Ive had a fairly excellent experience for the two times I came to this store. Both times I had placed an order online and came to the store to pick it up, and thats the purpose for both my visits. I remember my first experience at this store was in November 2011. I had placed an online-to-store pickup order around Halloween and was too lazy to pick up the order until maybe two or three weeks later. I was a bit grateful but surprised that they still had it on hold for me. The layout of the store feels a bit cramp as the space to walk through feels narrow. I guess they are trying to maximize space for their merchandise. It pretty much is organized like a small gas station store, narrow aisles and unfit for crowds of people. Both times I didnt have to wait long for an associate to help me. First time I got an associate right away as there was no customers at the register. Second time I was behind one customer but the wait was above average in comparison to other stores. Online-to-store pickup was fairly efficient to my delight. I was worried that the associates would be clueless on how to process my order as I feel that not a lot of people here order online to pick up in the stores. For my first store visit, my order was already ready. My second store visit, which was a few days to a week after placing my order, the associate had to get the items from the shelf. Still, both experiences werent bad and I would shop here again if the deals are there.

I came here looking for a new battery mostly because the 4x6 sign out front said "Free Installation with Battery Purchase of $49 or more." I go in ask for the battery, the guy is about to ring me up and just to make sure I ask "you guys install it, right?" He simply tells me no. "But theres a sign outside." "Yeah, but we dont do that." "Then why is there a sign?" At that point the manager takes me out front and shows me an 8.5"x11" sheet of paper with a paragraph of faded text that talks about the employees of the store not being allowed to go outside. Then he walks me to the giant 4x6 sign that says "free installation" and points at the fine print "except where prohibited by law." And I say "Then why dont you just take the sign down? Thats ALL the sign says." Blank stare. So I go another 5 blocks to the autozone to get swindled. Avoid 8th street in general.

Service was terrible. Everyone walks around like they have concrete shoes. A short, elderly man at tge register by the door would not even raise his head when customers walk in to greet them. Saddest bunch of workers I have ever seen. As a female worker on maturity leave walked in they all came to life amongst themselves yet short of being rude to customers. Latin females in the back were loud and obnoxious, singing loudly and joking amongst themselves. Advanced Auto Parts needs to train their employees in customer service.
